Hi,I have a very strange ADC issue which I am unable to find the root cause to. The symptom is as follows;While performing ADC readings to ADC1 IN1 and ADC2 IN1 consecutively, the readings sometimes differ by more than 32 ADC counts. I perform this check as part of BIST. This only happens when at the same time a UART signal is coming in to USART3_RX (115kbps). To prove that the USART3_RX is causing the problem, I sever the connection or stop transmission (both produce the same result). The issue goes away and everything works fine.What could be the issue? Is there something else I could do to mitigate this issue besides stopping the UART signal?I have not been able to mitigate the issue so far. All my efforts so far to uncover the issue have not yielded any results.I am aware that these 2 channels are essentially routed to the same pin and shared by the 2 ADCs so the readings should be identical if not very close.

Hi I am trying to communicate CAN. I am using two boards Nucleo-G474RE and Nucleo-H755ZI-Q and two MCP2551 as transceiver.On either side, program works for External loop back configuration. ( I did step by step debug to ensure the transmitting data is getting received or not). But I am not getting the interrupt when in normal mode. I also tried using a single board with shorting tx and rx of the transceiver and also using two boards.What might be the issue?I have only attached the IOC file and main.c file for Nucleo-H755ZI-Q and it is similar for Nucleo-G474RE also.

Hello, I'm trying to communicate with a STM32G070CBT6 bootloader, with mixed success. I've forced the chip into bootloader mode by writing a 0xDBFFE1AA to the FLASH option register (by default it was DFFFE1AA). I've verified that this value "stuck", and that the chip is booting up into bootloader mode.Using AN4221 as a guide, and using the I2C interface, I am able to sucessfully execute the "get version" command, which returns 0x12 (bootload version 1.2). However, all longer commands are failing. Here is a capture and protocol decode (with my annotations) of the "GET" command (command 0), The first 2 bytes of response is corect, however everything following that is 0x1F 

Hello,I'm working with the offset and linearity calibration on an STMH755.  My board will run the full calibration at production, save off the resulting offset and linearity calibration constants, and then retrieve and apply them at any new restarts of the processor. I use the HAL and LL calls to first read them, for saving to NVRAM, then recalling and writing them at startup.  To confirm these were in fact being installed on the ADC at startup, I ran a test where all offset and linearity calibration constants were intentionally set to 0.  I would have assumed that would result in a 0 ADC readings, always (setting offsets and linearity constants to 0), but yet I am seeing non-zero values consistently.Have I misunderstood something?  I don't see much explanation of the actual applied calibration logic in any reference manuals or documentation read so far.Please advise,Robert

Hello everybody,I'm a newbie on ST processors although I have a deep experience on several other MCU (Microchip on top).I'm using an STM32F051K8T6 with minimal connection (VCC,GND,NRST,SWDIO,SWCLK and a Led) to start developing a porting from an existing Microchip firmware that I wrote. The final board will use the STM32F051K8U6 (so the same MCU with a different package) but for an easier soldering I chose the T version (LQFP package).The problem that I'm facing is that when I program the MCU (with a firmware that simply blinks the led) the MCU goes in short circuit (I read 3 ohms between pin 1 (VDD) and 32 (VSS) ) and there is no way to recover the situation.I have already 3 MCU "bricked".In my experience there is no way to short circuit permanently an MCU just by firmware, even if the firmware is compiled for another package (that in my particular case has an IO pin where I have the GND connection).I'm missing something import

Hi there. I am testing my circuit with a 3.3V sine wave that has a 1.65V DC offset. PC01 has the Signal InputPC02 has the 1.65V.Looking at the output file from the ADC, I am not getting the total signal. 0-4096. My wave is between 1000 and 3000 approx. Is there a reason why the signal is attenuated 50%? I signal on the input has a 3.3V amplitude on a scope at the PIN. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you

Hi,I'm getting a problem in my project, where I tried to create a loopback between I2S3 and I2S4 on STM32F411 Disco.It seems that only the least significant bit of 16-bit packets is somehow shifted to the next packet. The rest of the transmission is intact.For example - I send {0x0001 0x0000 0x0000 0x0000} and I get {0x0000 0x0000 0x0001 0x0000}, but if I send {0xFFFE 0x0000 0x0000 0x0000}, I will receive {0x0000 0x0000 0x0000 0xFFFE}.Packets order reversal is expected, but during analysis pay attention what happens with the least significant bit. Another example: transmitting {0x8001 0x0000 0x0000 0x0000} will end up with receiving {0x0000 0x0000 0x0001 0x8000} (I'd expect {0x0000 0x0000 0x000 0x8001}).What is also interesting, readouts from logic analyzer seem to be correct.I am not using HAL, I am configuring registers manually. Configuring SPI for 24 bit data frames and receiving single data frames via HAL_SPI_Receive_IT (which redirects to HAL_SPI_TransmitReceive_IT() in case bidirectional transfer is enabled), hspi->RxXferCount and hspi->RxXferSize are both set to the value transmitted by the Sizeparameter. From the APIdocs it is not clear, if this Size parameter means the number of bytes of the pData buffer (as in many other cases) or the number of data frames this buffer can hold. Setting the Size-paramter to 3 in case of 24bit data frames and providing a 4 byte buffer via pData makes HAL_SPI_IRQHandler() overwrite RAM areas outside the buffer because it is iterating across hspi->RxXferCount times 32 bits and overwriting them in line 2827 of stm32h7xx_hal_spi.c.

Hi guys, im initializing a low/ultra low power project and i will use the STM32C011J4M6, i need to know if a general purpose timer like the TIM14 can wakeup the microcontroller in the low power modes (sleep, stop, etc).I was reading the datasheet (i haven't read it all yet), and i didnt find my answer, i went to write the code to try and see what would work and I couldn't implement it in stop or sleep mode.Something strange also happened, when I put only it to sleep and flashing an led worked normal when connected to STlink, but when I put it in an external source to measure the current, it seemed that the flash "went off" (it didn't perform what it was running before, even with the power at 3.3v.) can anyone answer me what would that be?Anyway, my project will be a loop of a simple ADC reader, basically, what im trying to do is:Power on > sleep > timer interrupt > wakeup > ADC read > if adc read is bigger than X > activate a pin &

@Tesla DeLorean Hi! Thank you for helping me with the BOOTING process. However, I have a question about the peripherals. I am planning to control a TFT screen that requires 40 pins and RGB protocol. At first, I was planning to choose random GPIOs to build the protocol (I am trying to learn by making it rather than just applying something already built), and I noticed that if I choose to use LTDC, some pins light up, as well as for connectivity like SPI... The pins selected by the IDE to do such tasks have any special characteristics? do they toggle faster? or could I do just the same applying the protocol to any other random set of GPIOs?

Hello, I have further questions related to ADC1 and MDF. The solution solved this case: ADC1 with one single input channel.  How about multiple input channels are connected to ADC1 of STM32U585?  I use 4x analog inputs as example, they are connected to ADC1. In this case, ADC1 will output the converted data of 4 channels sequentially to MDF block via ADCITF1. Inside MDF, there are 6x DFLT available. I'd like to assign one dedicated DFLT to each channel, so that they can do the digital filtering almost in parallel. Please refer to the below figure as illustration. I can not find how to configure the MDF block so that it can automatically switch the multiple channels converted data into the specific DFLTx paths. like illustrated in below figure. I don't see there is any matrix between ADCITF1 and DFLTx. Could you look into this and let me know if STM32U585 supports this special use case? Thanks and Regards, YN15054

Hi,I notice in the STM32H747XIH6 reference manual (RM0399) that "During and just after reset, the alternate functions are not active and most of the I/O portsare configured in analog mode." I want to confirm that in "analog mode" the IO is an HZ input without internal pullup or pull-down resistor enabled? Also, can anyone confirm which I/O ports do not assume this behavior on startup (since the RM says most)? Thanks!

IN AN4899, figure 18, it states:"To reduce power consumption, setthe pin as a push-pull output anddrive it in the same direction as theinternal pull-up / pull-down resistor.Alternately, set pin as analog input."I'm a little confused here. If there is already an internal pull-up, for example, then why would you drive it high again in push-pull mode? Hi.I got a new (never used) STM32L031K6T6 chip. Put it on a breakout board. Add a 0.1uF and a reset switch.I am powering the chip through the st-link.Tried it with BOOT0 High & LOW. did not work.What I found weird too is that the REST pin is always LOW on the chip.   

Hi, for my diploma project I made a DSP guitar effects pedal - designed a custom PCB and everything. On it I have an STM32F405RGT7 and a TLV320AIC33IRGZT audio codec. The codec is set up using I2C. The problem occurs when I try to communicate with it - I used a logic analyser and both lines (SDA and SCL) are continuously held LOW. I tried a new project and did the setup again with a simple I2C scanner - still nothing. I then tried to set the pins as GPIO pins and held them HIGH and then they both remained HIGH as they should - I think that hardware is not an issue since I have triple checked every connection, and given that the GPIO can hold the lines HIGH nothing appears to be shorted. I now believe the problem lies in the code but I just can see what could go wrong - does anyone have any idea?

Hi All,I'm getting very frustrated about a weird behavior of STM32G0 microcontroller; why? because I did similar projects with members from different families and all work. So I don't know. Maybe I'm doing something wrong with this one.The application is to count a number of rise and fall transitions between 2 timers events; for this reason I have Timer3 configure as PWM output, and I use 2 channels (2 and 3) to set the window where I need to count.
