STM32 MCUs Products

Hello everyone,I am currently using the STM32F207ZG in my project, but I am considering replacing it with STM32F407ZG due to speed.After reviewing the two MCUs, I found that the cores and memories of the two MCUs are different, but the peripherals are almost identical, and the pinouts seem to be completely the same.Then, can I replace the STM32F207ZG with the STM32F407ZG in my design without requiring significant changes to the PCB? The software will be modified for the new MCU. (I expect it will not be difficult since the current code is HAL-based.)I would appreciate any insights or advice!Thank you!

How to set the clock source for TIM3 We are trying to use TIM3. We also want to use an external CLK as the clock source for TIM3, but we don't know how to set it. .ioc file - Where should I change the TIM3 clock source settings?

i have MCU circuit with stm32g474met3 as the processor, designed such that it controls the main board charging circuit and it keeps burning randomly at random times could be 5 hours or 20 minuts or even few days I cant figure out why, it burns whether its connected to the main board or not. I tested pin configuration (i.e. inputs and outputs ) and they are all defined correctly. I cant find any issue. and the scheme looks fine. i also removed the 2 0ohms resistors on UART2, and permanently shorted the boot instead of the jumper,i don't have access to the code of the MCU but how can I electrically find the issue?

Hello,The STM32L476 MCU is not booting, and it seems to be stuck at address 0x08000228, as shown in the attached image. It used to boot and work correctly before.At some point, it stopped booting and no longer functions as expected. What could be the reason for this behavior?

Hi all,I am pretty new to ST so bear with me.The controller is reading in voltage values into the ADC and sending to PC over serial withCDC_Transmit_FS((uint8_t*), buffer, buffer_length)I'm getting the data stream, but the values as read in python for instance are b'\x03', b'\x04' with every other value being b'\x03'.I am trying to figure out how to 'decode' the data for lack of a better word. What format is the data being sent? I'm assuming since it is direct from memory it is bytes (binary)? The code is set up to trigger the transmit function when the ADC conversion is completed, and the parameters I give would indicate the value is in 8-bit bytes for the entire buffer, but I am stymied by the formatting on the receive end.Some reading indicates that the values shown may either be ascii or something presenting in that way due to how python interprets the data but this has been very difficult for me to figure out since I know next to n

Posted on October 02, 2012 at 10:50Hi! I am trying to use the CS43L22 in a very simple way: only to amplify an analog signal created with the internal DACs of the STM32F4. On the Discovery board the output of DAC1 is routed to AINxx. So I create a 0-3V, 1000Hz saw tooth signal on PA4 (which I can measure). I also did the CS43L22 initialization via I2C and checked that all registers are set properly by rereading them and showing them on an attached LCD. I enabled the analog inputs, the mixers and the volume control. So that all is fine. In the CS43L22 data sheet I read about the init procedure and it says that I need a master clock on MCLK for the charge pumps of the internal amplifiers. So I use a timer to create a simple 7MHz rectangle singal for PC7 (which is routed to MCLK of the CS43L22). But: There is no output at all. We have a device with corrupted SRAM2 content that is failing in the field. Is clearing the SRAM2 when booting the unit using its ROM bootloader possible? I tried to read SRAM2 content by the serial port when it boots by the ROM bootloader, but it failed; it received a NACK. I can only read internal FLASH memory with success. Any tip or alternative to clear the SRAM2 will be appreciated. As a last resort, disconnecting the battery will solve the problem, but it is not easy to do that in the field, and the battery will keep the unit working for months until a power failure occurs. 

HelloI am testing new MCU's. I have a ST-Link V2 and using a STM32F401CCU6.At the start I had a simple LED flasher application however after I could not run it I started stripping everything out.This is when I saw that I can actually not even run an empty while loop.I have a very basic Clock setup that is suppose to be 84MHz. HOWEVER I had several Clock setup functions before and all of them end the same way ending in the while() loop.This is for me to learn how STM works under the hood so I am not using the HAL. Hi, I would like to identify the source of the interrupt that caused the MCU to wake up from Standby mode. To do this, I check the RTC_FLAG_WUTF and RTC_FLAG_ALRAF/RTC_FLAG_ALRBF flags after the system wakes up to determine the wake-up source. However, when the system successfully wakes up from Standby mode due to the Wake-up Timer, the RTC_FLAG_WUTF is not set and remains cleared. I also checked the RTC ISR register, where the WUTF bit remains '0'. Does anyone know why this is happening?

I am working with STM32F401RE and IHM04A1 driver board. There is timer1 channel 3 in EN-A (PA10) for IN1A and IN2A. However, there is no timer channel in EN-B which should be used for IN1B and IN2B. What should I do for the timer in EN-B, that is, PC1?

Hello together, I have a question regarding the configuration of the HSE. We have a product which is running on a crystal, so we configured our HSE as "Crystal/Ceramic Resonator". In a new hardware revision our hardware team decided to use a active oscillator. So we would have to configure our HSE as "BYPASS clock source". So far eveything is clear.So just imagine: - v1.0 running on cystal - v2.0 or greater runs on cystal or oscillator depending on hardware revisionSo if a customer has a new hardware with oscillator but a very old version of the update application. Then he downgrades the product to v1.0. Meaning the hardware with oscillator runs now configured as "Cystal/Ceramic Resonator". Hi. I am a little bit confused.Why there is so many toolchains for ARM and what are the differences betwen them?Lastly i heard abot Yagarto, and also these is WinARM, arm-gcc, arm-none-eabi-gcc. Hi team,      I am working with QSPI I have 2 STM32-NUCLEO-L496ZG-P boards. I want to select one board as Master and one board as Slave and I want to transmit from one device and receive it on other device. But in stm32CubeIDE there is no option to select like Master or Slave. Is there any way to make it possible one as Master and one as Slave.

When I use the UART_Printf example to output an array of size 1024 (or larger) via printf, the program seems to freeze and doesn't output any information after being downloaded to the STM32WB55 Nucleo board. However, when I reduce the array size to 600, it can successfully print via the serial port. I try to build a code example where I can execute directly from external OctalSPI flash.I use HAL project "XSPI_NOR_MemoryMapped_DTR" as reference and starting point:It works fine: I can write (flash) and read back external QSPI memory. I can also execute code from it.It looks to me at: the memory region 0x7000_0000...0x7000_00FF on external OctalSPI is a "write and readable" data region but "never an executable region". Hello,I have a problem with STM32N6. When trying to access any TCM (ITCM/DTCM) the CPU immediately crashes to the Hard_Fault. Do the TCM memories need to be explicitly enabled or something? From my experience from STM32H7, it was never needed. I've looked around RM for N6 but cannot find anything related.
