PLEASE GUIDE US FOR SELECTION OF 8MHZ CRYSTAL FOR STM32L462CEU6 MCU.

Hi, I wish to calc a CRC using the CRC peripheral for some byte data and am using TouchGFX which as I understand it also uses the CRC peripheral. I tried using the CRC unit but I am not calculating the correct ethernet 32 bit CRC for my data.  I suspect the intialisation of the CRC unit in TouchGFX projects is incorrect for the ethernet version of CRC peripheral, maybe its the endianess of the data or the polynomial used or some other factor.The problem of course is that TouchGFX and my other processes run on threads so a thread-safe config mode change to the CRC registers seems quite challenging. It may be best to use a thread-safe algorithm as the data streams to be processed are fairly short.At the moment it is more of an academic exercise as the Ethernet peripheral has a separate CRC unit so the network data is protected  by the Ethernet CRC. Is there a way of using the CRC unit with TouchG

Hi @Amel NASRI, Thanks for sharing the info here.  I'm really interested in low power MCUs.  I do have one question:  where can I find information about the startup current draw of this part?  The datasheet has very good documentation on the supply current requirements in each low-power modes (6.3.5 Supply current characteristics).  But on an energy-harvesting system, the startup current might also be limited.  On my STM32L0 based designs, I noticed that the startup current was an order of magnitude higher than when running in low-power mode.  Is this also the case on the new STM32U0?  Is that documented anywhere? Please suggest me STM32 product which can be used to analyze CAN bus. also send and receive data thru CAN bus. Is there any STM32 available with CAN build in peripheral. I currently have STM32F411RE. 

I enabled IWDG on my STM32G050C8T6 and it works correctly but I also want to be able to debug the MCU with IWDG enabled. According to the MCU family's reference manual I should set  bit 12 (DBG_IWDG_STOP) of DBG APB freeze register 1 (DBG_APB_FZ1) to disable IWDG clock counter when the core is halted.The DBG APB freeze register 1 can be written by debugger under system reset.But I do not know how to write to this register. I tried to change it using STM32CubeProgrammer but it does not work.

TL;DR – Does anyone know how get the STM H7 series boards to do what Phil showed how do to in [#5] IIR Filters - Audio DSP On STM32 with I2S (24 Bit / 96 kHz) for the STM32 F4 series?  The H7 appears to be lots faster, and its floating point unit does double precision. Been learning a lot (trying out the I2S and SAI on the board), but not getting there.  Given the 80,000 views of Phil’s videos and all the references, seems like others would be interested too. Would like to be able to configure other aspects of the project using the STM32CUBEIDE GUI (i.e have it work as an .ioc project), but don’t care if the audio interface not use the GUI (i.e. HAL or LL).   Hi, I have configured two PWM channels with complimentary channels on TIM1. I am mainly using the STM32CubeMX for configuration. I have some STM32G030C8T6 custom boards with the same problem. After flashing them for the first time through SWD using STLINK probe the devices are stopped. STM32CubeIDE debug session is aborted and I cannot launch any debug session anymore.The workaround is simple. Just switch off and on the power supply and everything is fixed! I have no more problems and I can flash the MCU as expected. Why? How can avoid this behavior when flashing the MCU for the first time?

I am trying LTDC color keying application. LTDC uses HSI as clock source. I want to make all system clock HSE. Then I will be able to use PLL3 with HSE. However, the processor example I am using uses an external ram with boot_xip. All clock settings in boot_xip are made for HSI.Whenever I want to make system clock HSE, RCC_CKPROTR_XSPICKP 1 comes when application starts. This prevents me from making HSE ON. When I close manually, even if HSE is ON, the software crashes when RCC_CFGR_SW changes.My crystal works fine. I tested it with RCC ClockConfig example. However, the example does not include a boot software and application. Therefore, how can I change the system clock configuration in Application?

Hi, I implemented and tested the example TIM_OCActive, which is included in the  STM32Cube_FW_G0_V1.6.2 package, using a NUCLEO-G071RB and the STM32CubeIDE version 1.17.0. As the trigger signal for the oscilloscope I generated a 10 ms wide pulse by adding lines 3 and 4 in the below code snippet. Question: although the trigger pulse is written only to the TIM1 CH1 output (PA8), it appears for all four channels, as can be seen in the below oscilloscope screenshot. Please explain that. Hello,I'm using an STM32 F4 board as a TCP Server and the hercule application on my PC as a TCP Client.I follow the online tutorial proposed by controllersTech for the configuration.This is what my program does: If I send the message "1" to the server then he replays me back some message. Hello everyone, why is it that the ITM output does not display when the IDE jumps from boot to Appli? Hi.I have the following code. However when I try and update the arb value with anything it just does not reflect on the pin.Currently it is running a stepper motor. The stepper motor moves one step every time the pulse goes high.With that in mind I am suspecting that the rotation speed should dramatically change when I do increments of 1000 on the "change_pwm_frequency()" function. I have some data as static class members. I use `__attribute__((__packed__))` for some classes and structs. I use type punning to convert between types that I believe have the same memory layout, but different signatures (members of different translation units). It works. I assume the sequence and offsets of members is as in my class / struct definition. Knowing this I just save and load memory regions to and from files and it works.Until I enable any optimization in the compiler. I noticed that when my configuration file was written by the debug version, it does not load in release version. The first member is loaded correctly, the subsequent ones are not.My only guess here it can be related to a different memory layout using -O1 .. -O3. Can `__attribute__((__packed__))` be ignored when optimizations enabled? Is there a way to express in my code I want a specific memory layout for a structure?When I have a class that has only static members

Hi.I tried using DMA with I2C before using interrupts and I seem to get the same problem that still remains unsolved.This time around I decided I will try and not use any interrupts to make things a bit simple. However I am still getting the same result and I just can not seem to figure out why my I2C coms get stuck in the middle of a transmission. The Error flag is not going up either.I am trying to read from the 0x0C (raw_angle) address from a AS5600 IC.I do this by sending '0x0C' to '0x36'(AS5600 address). On the BusPirate on SNIFFER mode I see the following on the bus line.[0x6C+This did not change from the last example. When I take the BusPirate and the AS5600 IC alone and run the command Step1: [0x6C 0x0C]Step2: [0x6D rr]I do manage to get some legit bytes referring to what I believe is the raw_angle values.When I put it all back onto the MCU it just gets stuck WITH OR WITHOUT the BusPirate on the bus.In the code b
