Hello, New here. I am working with a piece of consumer electronics equipment that uses a STM32F101C8 processor. the customer was doing an update to this unit and in the middle of the update, pulled the USB plug out of his computer bricking the unit. all attempts at using the manufacturers method of updating have failed. I have checked powers and grounds and all voltages are where they should be. I have ordered a ST Link V2 programmer that is due today. I am looking for advice/info On How to get a baseline. How to connect and erase the chip back to a stock setting essentially. reload a basic boot loader. something to attempt to get the chip back to a basic state so i can re-attempt the update process. I have the .BIN file from the MFG if that helps.  My thinking is that if i can connect, get in, set up a basic starting point. even something like the blink program would probably reset the chip enough for the manufact

I soldered a new STM32 on the board, it can enter bootloader, but it's under Readout protection(I guess I bought renovated chip), I don't know how to unlock Readout by STM32CubeProgramer, finally, I use STVP and ST-LINK V1 to connect through SWD, and change the option byte, unlock Readout protection.I don't want to use ST-LINK and STVP, because I need to have SWD interface on the PCB(the PCB space room is very limited). I want to use STM32CubeProgramer through USART to set option byte, but I didn't find out how to set option byte if the chip is Readout protected.

I am trying to use stm32flash to program my board over UART. I understand that the board needs to be in boot mode in order for this to be accomplished, so using the STM32CubeProgrammer I have tried setting the resisters appropriately. BOOT_lOCK: set to unchecked for booting based on option bit configuration NBOOT_SEL: set to checked to use the NBOOT0 option bit instead of the BOOT0 pin nBOOT1: Checked for when BOOT0 is 0 to boot from system memory nBOOT0: unchecked to set to 0 Based on what I've read in AN2606, I should be following pattern 15 which should match what I have above, though there is no nBoot0_SW as is described in the documentation but I assume that is just NBOOT_SEL? I also have my st device flashed over JTAG with a program that initializes LPUART1 instead of regular UART1, not sure if this causes issues with flashing over UART. Hello, I am developing an application using STM32N657I have datasheet DS14791 Rev 4. There are pins for VDDIO2 to VDDIO5 and the datasheet implies that I can run the GPIO on an independent voltage supply. Chapter 5.3.17 even specifies low levels and high levels for 1.8V mode and 3.3V mode. I need SPI and UART at 3.3V level. I know that VDDCORE is 0.8 V, for this I will use the internal SMPS at 1.8VSome of the voltage signals have 1V8 in their name so obviously these run at 1.8V However I am not completely sure how I can/must supply the rest of the chip.Can i supply VDD and VDDIOx with 3.3V and have all the GPIO work at 3.3V? What else do I have to keep in mind when using 3.3V on this chip? ThanksLucas

I am trying to get a 7" LCD to interface with a STM32F407VET6 microcontroller. I am using a display from winstar which the product number is WF70A2TIFGDBT0. The screen is 800x480 pixels and uses 8080 interface. The display uses a SSD1963 driver and I am trying to use FSMC to interact with it. My problem is that the screen is not being initialized properly and I am confused why. I have attached my code so if anyone is willing to look at it and help me out that would be a great help. I am thinking that it is a timing issue but I am not sure the screen is just black throughout all of my testing. I am using FSMC Address 18 for my data/command select and an 8 bit data bus. 

I am unsure if I correctly understand the power consumption of the N6 Family. I want to supply the MCU with 1,8V and use the internal SMPS to supply Core with 0,81V.When it comes to designing the 1,8V voltage source, how much current do I have to expect? Datasheet chapter 5.3.6 details supply current characteristics- I see that I_DD is almost negligable in the grand scheme (less than 1 mA)- CORE supplied by SMPS is given as current I_DDA1V8, order of magnitude around 100mA typ- I_DDA1V8 in and of itself also quite small with around 5 mA- I_DDA1V8AON itself also around 5 mA- Table 39. shows current consumption of SMPS, the given current is also I_DDA1V8AON with values up to 100 mA typ. Since some currents are defined multiple times in different tables I am having trouble to understand which values to take for a maximum current calculation.Do I have to add all together?Also

I'm trying to calculate if I need an external resistor with my HSE crystal (24MHz, 18pF, 50R) but the suggested formula example does not give the shown result. So is the formula or the result wrong or have I misunderstood something?Below example from AN2867: An initial estimation of RExt is obtained by considering the voltage divider formed by RExt and CL2. Thus, the value of RExt is equal to the reactance of CL2.Therefore, RExt = 1 / (2 π F CL2), and so, with an oscillation frequency of 8 MHz andCL2 = 15 pF, we have RExt = 1326 Ω. If I put the values mentioned in the formula I do not get 1326R??   

Hi,I made some custom PCB's with a STM32L476RG. Here are some of the features:-USB-C connector (CC channel configured as device) with DM/DP routed to PA11/PA12.-Step down converter 5V (VBUS USB) to 3.3V (VCC for most components)-Tactile switches for BOOT and RESET-10 Pin SWD Debug header: SWDIO/SWDCLK -> PA13/PA14. SWO not routed.-no external crystalsI soldered one PCB up and checked the connections under the microscope and with some resistance measuring. So that should be fine.Now to my problem: I cannot flash or debug it. What I tried so far.-Using the bootloader via USB doesnt work. The MuP doesn't even show up in the device manager.Using an ST-Link from a Nucleo-L476RG board:-Run / Debug with CubeIDE gives error: "Could not read registers; remote failure reply 'E31'". Folks,I have a bootloader for an M0 which works without using interrupts. It works in that it loads the new app, the CRC in the new app matches and I then try and jump to 0x8004000.In the past I have used a couple of different methods with M3/4 to boot to the app from bootloader dependent on what compiler/IDE I was using, but the M0 is slightly different due to how the vector table is not relocatable. Dear together, For the past dew days Im stuck kwith UART communication with DMA.To start with, I am implementing TX now. Later I will implement RX. I have managed for TX to work without interrupt. As per my application, I need Interrupt to inform the micro controller when transmission is completed.But when I enabled the DMA_CCR_TCIE bit in  DMA1_Channel2->CCR, micro controller hangs. I'm using HAL_FLASH_Program(FLASH_TYPEPROGRAM_DOUBLEWORD, 32-bit-addr, 64-bit-data) and it crashes with an 0xfffffff7 exception.  Has anyone else seen this?  I've checked that the addresses are aligned to 64-bit boundary.

Dear STMicroelectronics Support, I am working with the STM32H723ZG-E01 board (Serial: A230801274) and encountering an issue where CAN communication is not functioning as expected. Based on the documentation, I have configured the FDCAN1 interface to use PD0 (FDCAN1_RX) and PD1 (FDCAN1_TX). The FDCAN peripheral clock is set to 20 MHz. The external transceiver is correctly connected and powered, and the rest of the board appears to function normally. Despite this setup, no CAN or CAN FD communication is taking place. I would appreciate your help with the following: Could you please confirm whether PD0 and PD1 are valid and officially supported pins for FDCAN1 on this specific board? UART baudrate for the SM32H7 series (@ 400MHz system clock).The data sheet says 12.5 MBit.Does this apply to all UART ports or only selected ones?I need 8 MBits @ 16x oversampling and 6 MBits @ 8x oversampling.Are these baudrates possible?Best regards,Holger

Hi,I’m currently working with the STM32G491RE MCU and have encountered an issue related to GPIO pin PB6.In our normal user application, PB6 is configured as a push-pull output. However, we would like to understand its behavior when the device enters boot mode.The AN2606 document outlines the functionality of certain pins during boot mode, but PB6 is not clearly mentioned. We’d like to confirm whether PB6 takes on any alternate function or state during boot mode, or if it remains unaffected. 

HiI am working on a project with an STM32H743 and a 32-bit SDRAMThe FMC signals are quite randomly scattered across the package and this makes layout quite convoluted and difficult. I'd like to swap byte-lanes and individual bits within each byte, for example:- connect DQ0 - DQ7 on the SDRAM to DQ24 - DQ31 on the microntroller, then swap the mask signals DQM0 with DQM3.- swap bits within a byte, for example after swapping the bytes as above, connect DQ0 to DQ25 on the micro and DQ1 to DQ24 on the micro.The SDRAM should not care about these type of swaps, but are there any restrictions in the way that the FMC works that would stop this from working?Thanks

IS61WV25616MEBLL and IS64WV25616MEBLL are recent Muxed PSRAM from ISSI. I would like to use these with an LQFN100 STM32H750VBTx to avoid complicated routing with SRAM and going to a larger LQFN or BGA package.The FMC of this MCU supports Muxed PSRAM. I am trying to understand if the part is compatible by comparing the datasheet with what I see in CubeIDE. I do not understand:The data sheet has 16 Muxed Address/Data lines but it also has two additional address lines A16, A17 (PSRAM)Byte Enable (CubeIDE)Questions:Do I configure the data as 16-bit or 18-bit? It seems to have 16-bit data and an 18-bit address.In CubeIDE I noticed that when I select the Byte Enable checkbox, I get two pins: FMC_NBL0 and FMC_NBL1. Should I connect these two pins to A16 and A17?Any suggestions on PSRA

I wrote a code for this microcontroller to test the CAN protocol, and it worked successfully in loopback test mode—data was transmitted and received correctly without using any external CAN transceiver. Then, I switched the CAN mode from loopback to normal mode and physically connected the TX and RX pins together using a wire. However, with the same code (only changing the test mode), I noticed that in Live Watch, the TX pin shows activity (data being transmitted), but the RX pin shows nothing—no data being received. I even checked the signals on an oscilloscope, and the waveforms on TX and RX were identical, confirming that the signal is physically present on both lines. Yet, according to the software, no data is received. This led me to wonder: since some microcontrollers support external loopback modes while others do not, could it be that this microcontroller does not support external loopback in normal mode by simply wiring TX and RX together? Is that correct?

I am working on a STM32N6570-DK board, and I want to make sure that if I want to start a program on the external Nor Flash(the default mode), before using the Cubeprogrammer to download it, the boot0 and boot1 can both be set to 0, or boot0 has to be set to 1 to successfully download it using the ST-link. I have already known that when running the program, boot0 and boot1 have to be set to 0.

Hi All,I have a project that is using the STM32H562. I am having an issue using tim13 and tim14 to generate PWM outputs going to LEDs. The project uses timers tim2, tim3, tim4, tim13, and tim14 for a range of different PWM peripherals. For all of the timer instances that aren't tim13 and tim14, the PWM configures and works as expected, but I am unable to get any PWM output signal on the channels controlled by tim13 and tim14. Neither the autogenerated INIT functions or my application code to update the pulse width value return any errors from the HAL functions, and I can see the value of the registers being updated with the new pulse value, but there is no output on those pins. I have verified to some extent the hardware, because I am able to toggle those LED pins by configuring them as standard GPIO outputs and driving them high to see the LEDs illuminate. Any suggestions or information would be greatly appreciated! I can provide more information upon request. Thanks!&n
