Hi,I have a laptop equipped with VL53L5, I want to use it, but after my query, I found that there is no relevant instance executed in Win10, and no softwares can be used on ST official websiteI know that VL53L5 is a new product, I am thinking that it may not be free enough in developmentmy question:How to execute VL53L5 in laptop on Win10?Can the tools & software of VL53L1X be used in VL53L5?This is my first time using TOF, so there are many problemsThanks anyone who helps me

VL53L1_PerformOffsetCalibration(Dev, 140, 17 << 16)From digging in the code it looks like CalReflectancePerCent is fixpoint1616 and CalDistanceMilliMeter is an int32. For example is this the correct format to calibrate with a 17% Grey card at 140mm?

Hello,I am desperate, have been looking for the cause of a malfunction for quite a long time now.I use the VL53L1X with the ULD API.My code looks like the example code:Enable EN-Pinwait for CheckBootState == okSensorInit (Config like ULD, no changes)SetDistanceMode: 2SetTimingBudgetInMs: 100SetInterMeasurementInMs: 100StartRangingAn IRQ occured, In ISR, I read the distance and clear the interrupt:wait for ChecKForDataReady != 0GetDistance: 0x0B5E (no overlapping of the sensor, may be ok(?))ClearInterruptAfter that, no more IRQ occured, the GPIO pins stayed at low level.When I hold my hand over the sensor, the measured distance is much smaller. The sensor should therefore work. Why then does it not trigger any further interrupts?Any ideas? Best regards,Karsten

Hello,I am designing a system of multiple VL53L1X sensors placed around a drone. My question is whether two sensors are closed and oriented towards the same direction , is it possible that the VCSEL signal from one could affect the measure computation of the other ?Whether it's the case, exists it an angle (45°/90° of direction difference) where these interferences will disappear ?Another point is with a timing budget of 20ms for example, how many time the sensors radiate the signal before computation ?Thanks for your future help.

UM2133 says the default value of histogram_ranging_gain_factor should be 0.971. When I get the data for VL53L1_gain_calibration_data_t->histogram_ranging_gain_factor, I get an integer "1987". The data type listed in the typedef in vl53l1_ll_def.h is uint16_t. Is this some fixed point encoding? I don't see any comments in the code giving clues.All I have is the user manual (UM2133). I haven't found a full API documentation of all the functions and their outputs and data types. Does this documentation exist somewhere?

Hi, I included the VL53L0X API from ST in a STM32G4 STM32CubeMX project. Now I need a example of how to use the API to init the VL53L0X and do a simple range measurement. I'm using the Arduino VL53L0X module.

I was evaluating VL53L1 through X-NUCLEO-53L1A2.The GUI (api rev 2432 6.6 build 1) showed NOT VALID, but I checked the Data Log (.csv) and I found the "trueRange_cm" data was valid. I have a question, which data result is true, GUI or Data Log?Thanks in advance

Yes, the VL53L1X ULD API code has recently offcially ported by STM32duino to Arduino. The library is available on Github : https://github.com/stm32duino/VL53L1X

I have a 3 VL53L1X satel boards with me .I started testing it out and am facing some minor issues. I saw in the data sheet that I can program the Region of Interest. I am programming it in arduino. I was hoping if I can get a sample code with the programable ROI so i can get started. I was also hoping to know how i can change all of the device address and program it in ESP32 if arduino Nano cannot manage 3 I2C devices at once.Thank you so much in advance

Hello,I'm looking for using multiple sensors (10 exactly) in my systems. I have two tricky specifications :get measurement frequency of at least 50Hzlimited as best as possible the space of sensors PCBTherefore I have the idea to use a single interrupt wire (GPIO1) for several sensors and play with timings in order to enhance the efficiency in term of wire / time to get data.Do you think it seems possible to design this way ? (Because in API manual it said is mandatory to assign each sensor wires (XSHUT and GPIO1) to 2 pins of our microprocessor in a multiple sensor design)Thank you for your future help.

The API has the function VL53LX_SetTuningParameter (VL53LX_DEV Dev, uint16_t TuningParameterId, int32_t TuningParameterValue) and there is a file vl53lx_tuning_parm_defaults.h, which contains defines for the TuningParameterId I guess. What I don't know yet is what the effects of these parameters are and to which values I have to set them. In the user manual under 5.3.2 it is said, that you can set the VL53LX_TUNINGPARM_PHASECAL_PATCH_POWER to 2 in order to improve accuracy. I was wondering if I could do more to that in order to suit the setup best for my application.Thank You in advance.Kind regards,Niklas Kohlisch

I need to send the People count obtained from VL53L1X to the Server using Wifi. Does STM32 connect to Wifi or do we need an external Wifi Module for this? Also what changes have to be made in the VL53L1X code and also in which .c file of src/API folder those changes need to be implemented so that the count can be sent using HTTPS to the Server.

According to the VL53L1X ULD API description when Vl53L1X_StopRanging() is called, an active ranging operation will be completed.In a practical evaluation we tried to investigate whether an interrupt could still occur after calling this function or not:-         we set a long timing budget -         and called VL53L1X_StopRanging() + VL53L1X_ClearInterrupt() during rangingAn interrupt was never observed in this evaulation, which leads me to the question:Is the API completing the ranging operation but not indicating the interrupt when the stop function is called during ranging ?Unfortunately, the API description does not provide any information about this use case.

In the production process of a product using the VL53L1X TOF sensor we would like to evaluate the quality of the custom assembled window. There are some mechanical tolerances and we need to ensure that the crosstalk is as low as possible. Is there any way to measure the crosstalk (in kcps) in a test setup ?In AN5231 chapter 7 a typical crosstalk value of 0.2kcps/SPDAD is given for the hornix cover window. How has this value been measured ?

I am adding a VL53L0X to an existing board design, and would like to keep the same footprint. A relatively small section of the emitter exclusion zone is breached ~16mm away from the top surface so I am curious what the effect would be and how significant? The 25 degree exclusion zone for the collector is clear of all obstructions.

Hello, I have a question of VL53L1X time-of-Flight Distance Sensor. The VL53L1X features a programmable region of interest (ROI), so the full field of view can be reduced or divided into multiple zones. I want to know if I can change ROI dynamically. Take measurements at different ROIs in a short time. The previous sensor, based on the VL53L1X that I used, needed a few seconds to upload the configuration and must restart.Thank you for your answers

I have invested a lot of time and find no solution: I use two VL53L0X sensors in a custom board design with an ESP32 and use of the ST-Library functions. The usage of the GPIO Interrupts did not work as expected, because frequently / irregulary they did not trigger even if they should, because the detected object hit the trigger condition. I have written a check function where I can see, that the sensor measures and reports the correct distance, the correct DeviceMode (Continous), the correct trigger condition (TresholdLow or High), correct PalState (Running), no error.... , but did not raise the GPIO Interrupt (ClearInterruptMask was executed before...).In general I know, that my design and functions are working, because in 60 -80% of the trigger situations everything works as expected: the system is configured with VL53L0X_DEVICEMODE_CONTINUOUS_RANGING, LOW and HIGH-triggers are set and everything is cleared usually the system waits for a VL53L0X_GPIOFUNCTIONALITY_THRESHOLD_CROSSED_L
