For my project, I need to use 2 Vl53L1X on the same I2C bus. The setup is good and i can use them sequentially. I connect a vl53l1x-satel to a stm32wb55rg6 with 4 essantial pins (sda, sdl, gnd, vdd). I have a problem to wait for a result. With de function VL53L1_WaitMeasurementDataReady() i haven't problems but for my project I must not use a blocking function. So I try VL53L1_GetMeasurementDataReady() whitout success. I would like use a physical interrupt but i don't understant it's works and how use it.

The result is still the same.I tried to change range offset (register 0x0024). Hi everyone,I was wondering if it is possible to supply my VL53L0X with a 3V3 voltage?According to the datasheet, the 3V3 respects the recommanded operating condition.But when I look for example board from ST or other vendors, there is always a converter from 3V3 to 2V8. So I am a little bit confuse.Moreover, the note number (4) on the previous screenshot indicates that there is some API mode to set if the module works with 1V8 or 2V8. Sadly I did not find any related subject in the API User manual.Thanks in advance for your help.Regards,Alain.

I have rewritten the C app for the VL531 in LAIRD SmartBasic in order to drive the VL531 from a BT module (BL652). Hello Guys,I hope you all are doing well.I am working on a project that with the VL53L0X ToF Sensor and ESP modules.The sensor works great and i am trying to get deeper into its reads because what i need.I am trying to build a frequency meter using the VL53L0X, to take small vibrations of a surface (starting from 50Hz). I have been trying to read millimeters and put them in a array and making the maths to calculate the frequency, but no luck.Is there any way to read the raw data of the receiver (SPAD) ? Maybe starting a countinous read for 1000ms and getting each signal read and its strenght… i dont know.Or maybe if there is a way to measure the travel time of the signal or the time spent to the signal get from the emitter to the receiver, i could put it in a array to calculate frequency.Normal frequency calc libs are not working on the ESP module because most of them require AVR that is not supported on ESP modules.Would you guys be able to help me to achieve this or how to get the pr

Hi. I'm working with the STM8TL52F4 MCU and its touch/proximity sensing peripheral. I made a simple touchkey sensor simulating Fig 3 AN4313 (ST App Note: Guidelines for designing touch sensing applications with projected sensors). If the sensor is touched, the STMTouch state machine (if repeatedly calling "TSL_user_Action()" and then testing "MyTKeys[(NB)].p_Data->StateId") reliably produces DETECT codes while a finger is firmly touching the sensor.For short keypresses, it appears that the state machine DOES spit out contiguous blocks of DETECTs during finger contact with the sensor. Usually from the start, a series of CALIBRATEs, then some RELEASEs, a few DEB_DETECTs, the DETECTS, then more CALIBRATES, DEB_CALIBS and RELEASES after. Looks workable to me.But if the keypress is longer than a second or so, along will always come intervening CALIBRATES, RELEASES, the whole family. In my setup I have VL531LX proximity sesor connected as per datasheet. Every time when I call startMeasurement interrupt is risen immediately after (often two interrupts). By user manual UM2356, figure 3. this clearly should not happen. I was wondering do you have any idea why is this happening. Thanks in advance.

Gentlemen! Sorry for bothering you.I try to use VL53L1 with the Light Driver. The power level is 3.0 V, so I changed the Initialization data array, cell 0x2E from 0x00 to 0x01 and cell 0x2F from 0x00 to 0x01. I wait for the Device ready (SensorState = 0x03), than initialize of the Device (I checked of the ASK by Oscilloscope - it was good). I could not receive 0xEEAC by readind a word from 0x010F and 0x0110 cells. Insted of this I stable receive 0xEACC.I started of the measurement in loop and checked of the CheckForDataReady () function. The DataByte was constantly 0x0.May be somebody could give me an advice where is my error?

RoutineVL53L0X_perform_offset_calibration from src/core/src/vl53l0x_api_calibration.cpp is giving strange results. By my opinion the problem is in uint16_t sum_ranging which should be of type uint32_t due to later bit shifting (<<16), which needs to be done due to fixed point arithmetics. (I was performing this calibration at 270 mm distance, which is due to documentation not optimal one, but after the fixes it works fine).In case of VL53L0X_perform_xtalk_calibration the same goes for multiple variables (sum_ranging, ...) that accumulate the range measurements performed by the routine. Unfortunately there are some other errors present due to which the calibration routine doesn't produce an appropriate XTalkCompensationRateMegaCps value. Due to the lack of understanding what this calibration routine is trying to compute, I am not able to figure it out why. (I was performing this calibraton at 600 mm distance).Am I doing something wrong?

If it's not doable, what is the reason for that? (why the distance cannot be measured with the VL53L1X if a target is smaller than its FoV?)​

Can I place a "window" of thin mylar or glass in front of the sensor at a distance of 1 cm or so to shield it from the liquids in the tanks?

In our design the Proximity sensor is locking up in 90% of the boards. It ranges properly on its own. But when added to the bus, rest of the sensors function properly and only VL6180X is locking up. This is an ongoing issue.In the boards where its failing ... if we don't talk to the device, other sensors work properly. As soon as we try to initialize the proximity, it will lock up. I have checked the bus rise and fall times .. around 200 to 400 ns. Why is this chip so sensitive? Do you guys have any recommendation. We need to go into production asap so any suggestion will be helpful. Also, found out that if the Proximity sensor is run in continuous mode, it needs to be reset using GPIO 0 on the next power up. Right after powerup. or else it gets stuck ranging. If you require the schematic and the list of sensors attached to the bus, please let me know. Thanks,Tashfique

Hello everyone, I've a problem with the communication I2C. I've generated the I2C communication base code with STCubeMX for the STM32F746G discovery board. And I got an error at I2C_WaitOnTXISFlagUntilTimeout(). Because NACK is detected. I've also tested the sensor on a Nucleo L476 with the example program from the lite API of the sensor and it works. Both programs are similar and I cannot find out why I have NACK.I've test the I2C communication with an other sensor (MPU-6050 ) and it's works Thank you for your Help

Hy,I need to design a power consumption optimized (battery based) system using the VL53L0x / VL53L1. I cannot find the current consumption vs voltage in the datasheets. I can either use battery voltage directly (3.6V) or use a high efficiency DCDC (i.e. TI TPS62730) and generate 1.9V.What current do I expect for HW standby and Active ranging at 3.6V and 1.9V?RegardsHarald

So I am working with a VL53L1X sensor on a LPC804 from NXP. I am using the full API (STSW_img007). I made a simple test to see if I could get the I2C functions running allright, so I tried to read out the model ID. When I was successful, I wanted to move on to see if I could make some measurements and get the data out. So I plugged in some code I found in an example to get started, but suddenly I did not have enough memory from my code. I can see that the code jumpes from around 12KB to a whooping 38KB just by implementing these test functions. So now I cant go further, because the code is too large. It says on ST.com that the full API would take up around 9KB, so I have no idea why this is happening. Does anyone know why it takes up so much memory and what I can do about it? The two pictures show my test code for I2C and my code for range measurement.Bonus question: I tried to look at the .map file that is generated when I build the code in order to determin what was taking up so much

Hey there,I just got the sensor working on my raspberry using the library I found online. The sensor can now measure the distance.Now for my schoolproject I need to setup 2 roi regions on the VL53L1x. I have searched the internet and cant find anything how to do this on a raspberry.Is someone here familiar with the pi, the VL53L1x and the setup of an roi.
