Hi, We are currently using the BlueNRG-2 with GNU ARM GCC to compile and run everything. We based our projects on CMake and GNU GCC toolchain to build by using the examples for the Atollic IDE (eg. the linker script, etc). We are now evaluating the BlueNRG-LP to maybe use it as an alternative, but we are facing some issues to be able to compile it on a GNU ARM GCC compiler. Unfortunately, the provided demos for BlueNRG-LP devkits only support Keil and IAR, both solutions that we would like to avoid. We mostly face issues with the linker, since we don't have the .ld file for this MCU, only a .sct for Keil or the .icf on IAR. Do you plan to provide support for GNU GCC, through an Atollic demo project for example, for this MCU? Or maybe you already have a compatible project to share with the community for this MCU using GCC?Thanks you,

Recently I started to use the BlueNRG-LP,and I choosed BlueNRG345AC。I designed a PCB based on the STEVAL-IDB011V1. I try to run some example code on my design with KEIL MDK-ARM.It just totally dosn't work.the debugger is CMSIS-DAP,and I found everytime it runs into a "PUSH"instruction,it runs into stuck,no responding。A few moments later,the IDE shows some message ----" can not access memorry @0x2001xxxx"I tested the work curren tand the 1.2V core voltage,they are all good.I can download succesfully,but it just dosen't run.I dont know what to do next,I think I missed something,Can you give me some advice?(I wish I can put some pictures ,maybe I can describe more specificlly,but I dont konw why the picture dosen't display)Thank you.

Hello, back in April in repsonse to a support question about developing a BLE project we were pointed to use a BLUENRG-M2SP board (along with a Nucleo-L476RG). These arrived and we were able to get the android app working where we can see the RSSI change as we move around. However, we would like to know where we can find additional SW resources for developing our own streaming protocol (under HID possibly) using the above dev system.Thanks!

The S2-LP DK package comes with pre-compiled binarys that are used with the GUI application(S2LP_CLI_NUCLEO_L0.hex/ bin). Is the source code available for this CLI? I want to port this to my custom board (containing a STM32G microcontroller), so I can use the GUI to evaluate the performance.

I am trying to erase a particular flash memory area on BlueNRG-2.here i am getting two library function void FLASH_ErasePage(uint16_t PageNumber) :- where i can erase a page . void FLASH_EraseAllFlash(void):- where i can erase all the flash area. But how can i erase a random memory boundary.kindly help me out.

Hi guys. A quick question regarding the swd and debugging on the BlueNRG-M2 module.I have made a little breakout pcb board according to the datasheet: VDD and GND are connected to 3.3V.SWD pins DIO9 and DIO10 har connected to a JLINK (Base Segger), with VREF and GND according to JLINK pinout.I can identify the JLINK in both uVision and in the BlueNRG-X Flasher Utility (v4.1.0), but I am not able to connect and read out memory, perform binary download or do debug. I read that forcing DIO7 to GND during boot makes the UART bootloader start. I am not currently using this bootloader so I did not follow this procedure.Does the BlueNRG-M2 board have some sort of procedure that I am missing prior to a "normal" SWD or Debug session? Reset? Power cycle?FYI: The module is fresh out of the packet and does not have any specific sw on it that I know of.Thanks for any help.

Hello all,I am using in my project a BlueNRG-232 chip in order to have a bluetooth function. I would like to speed UP the flash frequency of my BlueNRG chip. Currently I am limited to 50kHz and it is impossible to go up. I am using a st link programmer V2 with the flasing software BlueNRJ-1 ST LINK utility. I have checked all the wires, and they are ok. In addition, with the same connection, I can easily program the stm32 which drives the BlueNRGIs it a frequent problem ? Has anyone ever encountered this issue ?Best regards,

I have an STEVAL-IDB005V1 that will not enumerate as a serial port on either Windows 7 or Windows 10 so I can't use the GUI to update the Bluetooth stack. Any help would be appreciated.I also have an STEVAL-IDB006V1 that does enumerate but does not advertise. Any help would be appreciated.Thanks

I am using the LwIP + RTOS to establish communication between STMF746 and the PC. I was able to send from STM to PC, or from the PC to STM, but I only could be able to do one thing. There are any way to program the STM to be working by 2 thread: one to recive data and other to send (independent). Without handsaking. The examples at STMCube directory shows that the comunication used to send a question and then answer it. I try with a PC and a RASP PI using soket ant it seems that it's works but I don't be able to do it using netcon with a NUCLEO STMF746.

Hello,I have a problem with the bluenrg-2. I'm using a STEVAL-IDB008V2.I measured the current while in different sleep state and here are the results :CPU-HALT : 1.6 mAWAKETIMER : 1.9 mANOTIMER : some nA.The problem is that I'm supposed to have some µA in WAKETIMER but I have more than in CPU-HALT.I found that I'm around 1.6 mA when I'm in the BlueNRG_Sleep() function until the 4 last lines of the function CS_contextSave().I tried with the simpliest code possible but I still have the problem.Any idea ?

Started today with my STEVAL-STWINKT1B, with default firmware and an outdated version of ST BLE Sensor app.I was happy, the app connected and I was able to do a first trial, gather some data and export the data as csv by email.After that, I did an update of the app to the latest version. After starting the app, it told me to upgrade my STWINKT1 and I did so.Now I ended up, that the app can detect the board, but neither the clear logs, nor the export logs buttons in the App work.Nothing happens, when I press the buttons.What to do?Best wishes,Steve

Hello all!I have a STEVAL-STWINKT1 board and I have created my custom services and characteristics to be able to send to a Raspberry Pi an uint8_t array of 240 bytes.From the RPi side, I am using bluepy to connect to my board and receive the notifications from it.However, I would like to send this array as if it was 10 times larger, hence 2400 byets long, and accumulate it on the RPi side untill all 10 iterations have been finished.What's the best approch to do so?From the STWINKT1 side, I have created a for loop where I call:aci_gatt_update_char_value(HWServW2STHandle, MY_hwHandle, 0, sizeof(my_buff) ,my_buff);HAL_Delay(2);Whereas, on the RPi side I have a while loop where I append to a list the incoming bytearray from the characteristic.But after 4-5 iterations, the connection is discontinued and I am not able to accumulate all 10 iterations.What would be the best approach to create a "stream" sending large amount of bytes to the RPi?

Hi there,I'm running into some weird problems while trying to use the S2-LP transceiver. It seems as though the transceiver is only sending one byte each time it enters TX mode.I am writing a program for a heavily storage-constrained project and as such I am not using any of the HAL libraries. I know that SPI is working because I am able to write to the transceiver, change its state, set interrupts, and read from its registers.I am using the S2868A2 expansion board with a NUCLEO-L010RB development board.I used the STSW-S2LP-DK as a proof of concept that the S2-LP was capable of sending the packets I wanted. That worked fine, so I exported the configuration and put it into my program.The problem I am running into is when I write 12 bytes (my payload size) to the TX FIFO and send the TX command, the S2-LP seems to only send one byte - when I read back the TX_FIFO_STATUS register it says the FIFO still has 11 bytes in it, and the FIFO_ALMOST_EMPTY interrupt only fires when I flush the TX

I used BlueNRG-1 to make 1 minutes wake-up timer. But it seems wake up once 10 seconds. It causes current consumption more about 1.5uA. How to solve it? Detail information is at attach file. I am building a non-connectable beacon using a BlueNRG-M2SP board, and an STM32L412 MCU as a host, and the power consumption of the M2SP board between advertisment phases is around 24 uA, which is over 10 times higher than what the datasheet says (2.1uA).I am using ADV_NONCONN_IND and ADV_INTERV_MIN = ADV_INTERV_MAX = 16000 (10 seconds).Is the 24uA current in idle expected in this configuration?Are there any additional commands which can be sent over SPI to reduce the power consumption?I flashed DTM SPI firmware on the M2SP board, version 2.1cWhen the M2SP is put in reset, the measured power consumption drops to 0, as expected (5nA, according to the datasheet).After initializing the hci, the MCU is put into Stop2 mode, and the measured power consumption is around 0.85uA, as predicted by the STM32L412 datasheet.

We are using the STUSB4500 and we plan to use VBUS_EN_SNK in its default mode. This means that the whenever a source is attached, that power is passed on downstream. That begs the question: what's the point of using VBUS_EN_SNK and the FET it controls? Why not just connect incoming power to the downstream circuits permanently?

Hello all,I’m just getting started playing around with BlueNRG 1 & 2 devices. I’d like to be able to debug with an ST-LINK V3 not using uVision. I found a patched ST LINK gdbserver in the 3.2.1 DK download but it’s an old version that doesn’t seem to support ST LINK V3. Is there an updated version of the gdbserver available? Or, is there a way to make the current version work BlueNRG 1/2? Ultimately, I’d like to be able to call it from VS Code using cortex-debug and gcc. I am aware of the SWD debug gotchas with this device and have so far managed to get a project set up from scratch in uVision and debug it with ST LINK V3.Thanks,Andy

Greetings, I'm configuring the S2-LP to act as a receiver and then strobing the reception. Sometimes the reception works and the S2-LP goes to the RX state as seen from the first 2 bytes of status on MISO . Sometime, randomly, it goes into an unknown state of 0x14 (MC_STATE0 value is 0x29). Why does this happen?I don't know what other info is needed, please let me know and I'll answer.Regards, Prithvi

For my project, I would like to create a communication (CAN and CANOPEN) with an evaluation kit of ST and an other electronic card and a sniffer to analyse the different weft in the bus. But I'm a novice in this communication so I search an example of communication to exchange some data between my 2 objects. Do you have some idea to help me? To connect the electronic card with my computer I use a IXXAT USB-to-CAN Compact V1. After I will use a V2 because the V1 is obsolete.Thank you for your help
