GreetingsI am working with the LIS2DW12 accelerometer and I am struggling to read from, and use the FIFO in single-conversion mode, using i2c. The chip is on a dev board which can only be used with i2c, and the INT1 or INT2 pins are not available for use.I am configuring the chip in low-power 12-bit mode, with an ODR of 50Hz.My configuration function: write(CTRL2_REG, 0x0C) //block data update = 1, device-addr increment = 1 write(CTRL6_REG, 0x00) // filter = ODR/2 write(FIFO_CTRL_REG, 0x20) //fifo mode write(CTRL1_REG, 0x48) // low-power 12-bit mode, with an ODR of 50Hz, single-conversion mode write(CTRL7_REG, 0x20) //enable interrupts To run the chip in single-conversion mode and read from the fifo, the function I have written is as follows: write(CTRL3_REG, 0x02) //enable start-of-single-conversion by I2C write(CTRL3_REG, 0x03) // start measurement After this. Hello everyone,I am currently working with STWIN+STWINMA2A microphone array for ultrasonic signal processing. I use the firmware "AMicArray_Microphones_Streaming" and connect the board directly to my laptop as an USB microphone.However, the data suffers from significant noise with certain frequencies.I used Audacity to sample the data in an quiet environment, with the configuration as figure 1. The sampling rate is 96kHz.The DFT of 10,000 data points is shown in the next figure, we can see a very high noise level at around 40k, 24k, and 8kHz.Is there any thing I can do to fix this problem?Thanks!

At this point, the I2C statuses all look normal. I have written code to extract temperature and humidity data values via high-resolution single-shot mode, but the data values are not being extracted correctly. Do I need to set the high-speed mode and access write, read before entering single-shot mode? I don't know what the heck is wrong.board:NUCLEOF303K8 / sensor: SHT30DLS, gpio / i2c source and header file is no problem / i2c = fast modeif you help me. i'm will bless to you every every every day... 

Hello, I am trying to test the e-compass application with the IKS4A1 connected to a Nucleo-F446 and Unicleo-GUI. The firmware of the Nucleo F446 was produced from Cube-MX following the "Getting started with the STMicroelectronics X-CUBE-MEMS1 software package for STM32MX".For some unexplainable (to me) reason, it looks like the board looks for sensors placed on another expansion board I don't have so that I am unable to get sensor data from the magnetometer placed on the IKS4A1. The IKS4A1 magnetometer is placed on the right side of the board. I have not the green board shown in the picture and it seems to me I have not configured it.  When I open Unicleo the user message tab shows: Port: COM8 Successfully Opened PresString Received: MEMS shield demo,12,10.0.0,1.5.0,IKS4A1 Firmware Type: E-Compass Expansion Board IKS4A1 Successfully Initialized but nothing works.Here my Cube project. Any help will be very appreciated. Thank you. 

I have been experiencing a peculiar issue with the LSM6DSM sensor, where noise occurs at a 12-second interval. This phenomenon is consistent across multiple units and locations. Notably, the noise seems to affect only the Z-axis.Settings: with the ACC in operation and GYR disabled.ODR 52Hz, +/-8G, the filter set to the state closest to RAW,and a FIFO setup with a 3840-byte threshold. The data is not decimated in the FIFO.It appears that the 3840-byte FIFO setting and the 52Hz ODR result in approximately a 12-second cycle. I am curious to understand the root cause of this issue and would appreciate any insights or recommendations for mitigating it.

Hi All,I need a mechanism to detect motionless for 10s to make device enter power saving mode.For lis2dh12, I can use HPF with low x,y,z threshold and duration to detect an event that motionless for 10s.However I need more low power accelerometer lis2dw12 to do same thing but it seems lis2dw12 design can only detect wake up event, is there correct configuration to detect motionless for 10s event ?What I need is:active: Himotionless for > 10s: LoBR,Sam

GreetingsI have configured  the LIS2DW12, via SPI,  to sample and store samples, given the FIFO (configured in continuous mode) on a wakeup interrupt to INT1. The sensor, given its current configuration is able to wake up and sample but there is a worrying issue where, on the first wake-up (providing some movement to the sensor),  the FIFO always overflows. I am seeing this when my ISR fires and the data-read-function is called, and within the read function, I am checking for the overflow and then essentially returning an error. If I try waking it up again, it samples fine without overflow occurring.Any help would be appreciated to figure out why overflow occurs ONLY on the first wake-up.My current configuration is:Write(CTRL2 , 0X1E) //BDU ENABLED, I2C Disabled, IF_ADD_INC EN, Disable CS_PU Write(CTRL6 , 0X10) //enable HPF, ODR/2, FS = 2G Write(WAKE_UP_THS , 0X0C) //Threshold = 375mg Write(WAKE_UP_DUR , 0X00) //No-wakeup time Write(FIFO_CTRL , 0XC0) //continuous mo

Hi all,I am using ST tile box pro and logging IMU orientation data for my test. I did place that module in a robotic arm and then calibrate the accel sensor. I observed 20 degree drift in the  heading value  after the calibration .Before calibration almost 0. I did ensure the origin. Kindly explain what's happening after the calibration. Thank you.

Hello,I need to measure the tilt angles (along the x, y, z axis) of a flying device. What accelerometer can you recommend produced by STM? Will one accelerometer be enough? Or do you still need a gyroscope to complete the task?

I am trying to connect the IMU sensor that is onboard the STEVAL_MKI236AA evaluation board. I am currently trying to connect that board to BeagleBone AI-64 or a basic Arduino via I2C and was able to detect an I2C device as 0x6A and 0x6B as the board has 2 IMU sensors. My current issue is making use of the .c drivers provided by ST on github (https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/asm330lhb-pid/tree/64dab105b84706e68a405678a4b0f10a28d7b489) and using the provided example over here (https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/STMems_Standard_C_drivers/blob/master/asm330lhb_STdC/examples/asm330lhb_read_data_polling.c) can someone guide me how to grab the 6-axis data for this evaluation board as the provided example doesn't have this board listed in it and is an example when you make use of the ST mems adapter motherboard (STEVAL-MKI109V3) for the evaluation board but I am taking direct pins of SDA, SCL for I2C from the evaluation board.Thanks!

Hello,    I am trying to test the compass of the IKS4A1 board with a Nucleo F446 board. I followed line by line the instructions provided in the "Getting started with the STMicroelectronics X-CUBE-MEMS1 software package for STM32CubeMX". My cube project locks like this:Even if I followed all the steps, it was not perfectly clear how to test the board. Moreover I have to further enable the DMA on Uart2 in order to avoid hard_fault. Then, after havin a running firmware I started Unicleo-GUI but there is any communication with the board. The Getting started say to set the Uart to 115200 but Sniffing the packets it looks like unicleo send packets to 38400. In any case also setting the Uart to 38400 there is no communication. The getting started guide says [4.55]: "After application starts, the user can view the data using a Unicleo-GUI application also developed by STMicroelectronics."  But  it does not seem to be as described.Is unicleo Gui the corr

Hi,I have a custom PCB for my company for automotive purposes with the ASM330LHHX as the IMU. Upon integrating the gyro rate (about the X axis, roll rate, see green line in 1st plot below) while acceleration is happening on the on the Y axis (Ay, see orange trace in second plot below), the purely integrated angle estimate diverges significantly more than it does otherwise without the Ay. This data is from a car driving around sporatically with some significant Ay events in both directions. What is the cause of this behavior from the gyro? Hello,    I have a custom board with a STM32F373 and a LSM303AGR MEMS device.I made a Cube-MX project in which I included the corresponding x-cube-mems1 software pack with an eCompass application.The project compiles and runs. I see from the firmware it is waiting from commands from uart. So I run the unicleo-GUI and connect to the corresponding port but nothing happen. Is the unicleo-GUI sw intended to run only with the SDK? Is there some other sw I have to use?Thank you.

Hi all,Been trying to use the ULP mode on LSM6DS032 with following steps.1. Setting XL to Power down mode by setting XL_ODR bits to 0b0000  of CTRL1_XL register.2. Set I3C_DISABLE to 1 of  register CTRL9_XL. // Not sure if this is necessary3. Power down the gyroscope by setting ODR_GY bits to 0b0000 of reg CTRL2_G .4. Set XL_HM_MODE = 0 of reg CTRL6_C (15h) // ref Sec 6.2.1 of datasheet.5. Finally, XL_ULP_EN bit to 1 in reg CTRL5_C (14h).Here is the actual problem, considering above steps to be correct for ULP use,the setup I have got has no significant difference in current consumption with any of the modes, be it ULP or power down or normal or low power..The sleep current for the my setup when IMU is turned off with a hard switch is ~0.6mA. However, the sleep current is ~1.2mA in each of the modes with IMU is powered on. I need IMU to be waking interrupt for whole of my system.This seems very odd as the IMU is supposed to have consumption in few uA range as I am getting alm

Hello,I'm evaluating the LIS2DE12 accelerometer by using the combination of STEVAL-MKI175V1 and STEVAL-MKI109V3 along a Power Profiler Kit II from Nordic Semiconductors for current measurement.Method of test:I removed the jumper that source VDD, bridged the Power Profiler Kit II (2 red circles) and connected GND (yellow circle) Placed the STEVAL-MKI175V1 and connected it to the computer.I proceeded to open UNICO-GUI and configured it to run at 200 Hz ODR with a range of 2g. Also enabled bit I1_ZYXDA from CONFIG_REG3 (22h) as I'm planning to catch the data available coming from INT1 in my application.The datasheet describes that the expected consumption is 18 uA at 200 Hz ODR.But the result leaded to a consumption of 41.36uA with an average consumption of 42.2uA. This is more than the double expected consumption.Am I missing something to configure in order to achieve the expected consumption?

I possese STEVAL-STWINMA2 with STEVAL-STWINKT1B for ultrasonic measurements. As a setup, we have attached STWINMA2 to STEVAL-STWINKT1B and installed a software "X-CUBE- MEMSMIC1". Then, we took measurements with using UltrasoundFFT.exe in the SW_executable file of the software, However every time I try, the only one data of the first attemption goes in to the 'Acquistitions' file, and the other results do not show up there. I never failed to check the box of 'save file'. I guess that even the content of  the only data that I got does not change at all. Even thouth I attempted to restart either my computer or STEVAL-STWINKT1B, it still does not work. I would like you to give me any advices if you have an idea of cause of the problem. Also, I would appreciat that I ever have an oppotunity where you indicate me how to use  STEVAL-STWINMA2 properly.  

Hi everyone,I'm working on a project which we use nucleo401re board and IKS01A2 mems expansion board. I mounted IKS01A2 on 401RE board properly and load the datalogterminal.bin file into the microcontroller. After i start unicleo, it connects to the board but does not allow to hit start button. There is nothing on the unicleo screen but it says connected to the board. At first connection it started once but after that i can not start the communication any more.Thank you.

Hi,I'm having a hard time to find a supplier for an o-ring to get the ILPS28QSW sensor waterproof.In AN5937 ST mentioned they use an o-ring with: ID 1.8mm, thickness 0.5mm (see picture below)Does anyone here know any supplier who make these, or have used another size with good results? For example if a thickness of 0.75mm would work? I'm afraid the o-ring might be to big?And FYI: The cylinder formed hole for the sensor is very similar to the one ST is using in AN5937  O-ring from AN5937:Dimensions of the ILPS28QSW from the datasheet: 

Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone had some insight into what the Unico-GUI is looking for to identify a board before it makes a connection. Is it simply looking for a specific formatting of serial output information or does it need to identify the board somehow? I have made some custom firmware for my STEVAL-MKI109V3 board with the STEVAL-MKI227KA sensor board and want to see the data being output via Serial Output manipulated in Unico-GUI. I can see the data in TeraTerm but Unico-GUI simply says "Board not identified". Thanks in advance. 

Hi, do you have any suggestion of a mechanical test bench setup to verify (/evaluate) the chosen accelerometer parameters? I'm working with an LIS2DW12, but I expect my question applies to all accelerometers:I have configured the accelerometer to send me an interrupt as a certain threshold condition is fulfilled (INT1_WU enabled).I use my device in a situation in which, in my opinion, the threshold condition is fulfilled. Nonetheless, the accelerometer does not wake up. Note, the accelerometer can wake up, but only in the event of a stronger acceleration. In other words there is no electrical/mechanical problem with the device itself.Therefore, I see several possible culpritseither the acceleration in the real world situation is below my threshold (in which case I would have to lower the threshold(*)); and/orthe above-threshold value happens too shortly, so that the accelerometer didn't have time to react (a higher ODR might work(*)?); and/orthe housing(s) in which I've teste

I just received the STEVAL-MKI109V3 kit and it appears to be useless so far.The Unico-GUI tool sees the main board but cannot see the sensor plugged into it. I measured the VDD_DUT and VDDDIO_DUT nets and there is no voltage. But maybe that is supposed to be enabled by the gui app?I tried to update the firmware on this board as well and the CubeProgrammer just says the file exceeds the device size or something like that. Anything else I should try before returning this thing?

Hi,We are using LSM6dsox for motion detection and as pedometer. The step counter value gets incremented when travelling in vehicles. FP_REJECTION and ADVANCE DETECTION is not enabled because the current consumption is very high when we enable the MLC core. Overall system current without MLC enable : 60-70uAWith MLC enable : 500-600 uA.We are using wake-up interrupt and step count interrupt for application. How to improve the pedometer without higher power consumption?Thanks,Vishnu
