ST25 NFC/RFID tags and readers

Hello,I am using a CR95HF NFC transceiver and want to have the option to select one of two antennas in my design.I had protoyped this idea with some Skyworks RF mulitplexers and a CR95HF development kit, essentially tapping into where the antenna joins to feed it through the mux. I'm using two off-the-shelf NFC antennas at the other side of the muxes.Unfortunately this hasn't worked. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong in my setup, or if the two new antennas simply are not tuned correctly to work with the existing dev kit.Thoughts and insight appreciated! 

Hi,we are currently developing an application where we need to integrate the ST25DV16KC NFC together with ST32WL.For this use-case I downloaded the firmware STSW-ST25DV010 and flashed it on the NUCLEO-WL55JC. This is working fine. Because we are using the STM32WLE5 in our project I transferred the libraries to our project and adjusted it, so it can work with the STM32WLE5. This only works for NFC initialisation, but not for writing NDEF. Hi,I would like to use NXP ICODE ILT tags (ISO18000-3) with the ST25R3911B device.As ISO18000-3 is similar to ISO15693, is it possible to use stream mode (as in RFAL) to support ISO18000-3 ? Is there any HW limitation ?  If no, did any of you already do this ?RegardsFred

Hi,I go my own hardware, that connects the ST25R3916b-aq chip to a nRF52840 Bluetooth Module and its SPI bus.  (and the I2C bus, just in case).Im using the Segger Embedded Studio with the nRF5 SDK for programming.Because and the communication is quite complex for the SPI, I want to use the RFAL library.If I just import it to my project, its missing the platform.h file. That file includes the "stm32f4xx_hal.h" and that can't work for my nRF52840. Where do i go from here?I know the basics of C coding, but im new to nRF and would really apreciate some help to get me in the right direction.Thank you!

Hello,I am designing a system that uses the ST25R3920. I am using the STSW-ST25RFAL002 software library to interface to the NFC reader.For performance & power saving reasons, I am attempting to complete NFC transactions as quickly as possible, and turn off the RF field between transactions. The typical use case of the system is that once a tag is detected, an initial transaction will take place. After that, the likely case is that the same tag will be present, and no other tags will be present. But there will be cases where that tag will disappear, and then the same tag or a different tag may appear at some time in the future.I am wondering what sort of optimizations I can make by assuming that the same tag will be there, and there should not be any collisions with other tags in the area. So far, I found that after performing discovery to find a tag, and then completing the first transaction with the tag, I can callrfalFieldOff()And then later resume transactions by callingrfa

I am attempting to create an NFC antenna for the M24LR04E-R chip, following the circuit diagram of the x-nucleo-nfc02a1 board. My challenge is that the x-nucleo-nfc02a1 board uses a double-sided antenna, but I want to design a single-sided antenna that I intend to print using silver ink on a flexible PET sheet.I have already followed a YouTube video on STMicroelectronics' YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dtq8fKiGMUU) and designed a 42x42 mm antenna with 11 turns, which results in a 5.01 uH inductance according to the eDesign suit (the calculations give a value of 5.009 uH). However, when I printed and tested it, it appeared not to be working correctly. It doesn't seem to operate at the desired frequency of 13.56 MHz. Can you point out what I might have missed or any mistakes I might have made?

Hello community,I´m trying to use LL driver for the communication with ST25DV64KC chip,  the register address of this chip is 16bits, but the current LL driver only supports 8bit, I tried to adjust it and failed. Do you have some LL driver examples for ST25DV chip? thanks in advancd.    

Using st25DV tag on our embedded system. In short, the second I2c read does not display the same data that was written. It differs, as the first byte changes to 0xFF. When I write to the mailbox the first time, and then read the data, it's the same. ( usually just a couple of bytes )But when I read it again, I see that the first byte changed to 0xFF, and all of the bytes that I had written were shifted. Here is what it looks like when writing  "01 02" to the mailbox and reading it First read: 01 02 ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff Second read: ff 01 02 ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff  According to the documentation, I can read it multiple times, don't understand why it fails.    

Hi,I want to know if there is a provision to lock an entire area in ST25TV tags. I can see from the datasheet that blocks 0 and 1 can be locked, but I cannot see anything for other blocks. I know that I can use a password to do same but I do not want to use passwords. Basically, I want to write to an area in the tag and make it non-editable forever. Is this possible ?

I'm tring to detect tag infomation by ST25R95.Main board is STM32L476RG.I got the sample code from https://www.st.com/en/embedded-software/x-cube-nfc3.html.Example commands are descripted in the datasheet https://www.st.com/resource/en/datasheet/st25r95.pdf.However SPI commands that sample code actually sends are different.Do you have register map of ST25R95 or more detailed datasheet ? 

Hello all,I'm currently working on a project to detect multiple objects on a grid. I plan to put NFC tags on each object and use only one reader to detect all of them. One of the solution is to have one reader's antenna per cells.Is it possible for me to use multiplexers at the output of the matching circuit in single ended version of the ST25R3911B reader? Will the ST25R3911B reader be able to detect the signal coming from multiple antennas?Thanks and best regardsAzzam Zahra

How can I power the STM32L476RG board via the EH pin of the ST25DV? Is there a module for this?

Hello, I am using MB1054B board with STSW-95HF002 software package to develop my own application to read ISO14443A NFC tag. In the STSW-95HF002 software package there are several functions that read/write data from the tag. But the data read from the tag is all in numbers. The NFC tag I am reading is sending a character string as data. I can read the data using STSW-95HF001 development software but when I tried reading it from the my own program using CR95HF.dll, the data I get is all in numbers. How can I interpret that data to exactly re-form the character string? Can you direct me to some resources which you can refer to me? Any short example codes? :) My another concern is, do I have to always Initialize, config, increase demo gain, etc to read the NFC tag? Each time I want to read the tag, do I have to follow these steps? Or is there any other way? Any help would be appreciated :)best,

Now I want to make a poller using ST25R3920B.Main mcu is communicating with spi.I tried to turn it to task after initialize, but there was an error in rfalFieldOnAndStartGT() and I followed the code ret = st25r3916PerformCollisionAvoidance( ST25R3916_CMD_INITIAL_RF_COLLISION, ST25R3916_THRESHOLD_DO_NOT_SET, ST25R3916_THRESHOLD_DO_NOT_SET, (ST25R3916_REG_AUX_nfc_n_mask & gRFAL.timings.nTRFW) );   st25r3916ExecuteCommand( FieldONCmd );   There is an error in the upper part.  When I checked using printf(), the previous line of that line was printed, but the software continues to restart.I think ST25R3916_CMD_INITIAL_RF_COLLISION Direct Command seems to be a problem. But I don't know why this is related to reset (reboot)...Has anyone experienced any of these or similar issues?

Hi All,I am trying to demodulate the signal of ISO14443A&B using ST25R3911B. In the case of Type B, I was able to receive data well by setting the type setting and Bitrate, specifying the preset with a direct command, and then setting the unmask. However, in the case of Type A, I checked while changing several registries, but the FIFO data was empty. By capturing the waveform directly with the analog pin, I was able to confirm that the data was coming out well.So I think it's a registry setting issue, so please let me know if there is anything I need to check regarding this.

Hi,I'm using an X-NUCLEO-NFC03A1 board with an nRF52840DK. I'm running my own driver on Zephyr and I'm able to read tags by polling. I plan to set the chip in the tag detector WFE so that once a tag is detected, it can wake up the host to handle the tag.The problem is it always returns immediately after I send the Idle command even if there are no tags.Here's the command to put in the WFE tag detector state:{IDLE_CMD, 0x0e, 0x02, 0x21, 0x00, 0x38, 0x01, 0x18, 0x00, 0x20, 0x60, 0x60, 0x64, 0x74, 0x3f, 0x08},The response is {0x0, 0x1, 0x2} which means tag detected. I know the tag calibration procedure is needed, but my calibration command got no response, the IRQ_OUT interrupt was never generated.Here's the command for tag calibration:{IDLE_CMD,  0x0e,  0x03, 0xa1, 0x00, 0xf8, 0x01, 0x18, 0x00, 0x20, 0x60, 0x60, 0x00, 0x00, 0x3f, 0x01}. So I decided to go through all the DacData from (0x04, 0x14) to (0xe4, 0xf4) in the command of entering WFE

Dear Sirs,To achieve a longer reading distance, we are tuning the antenna matching parameters.To use the ST25R antenna matching tool, we need to give a value fortarget matching Z and target antenna Q. I wonder how to select the target matching Z for a longer distance.In datasheet for ST25R3916, there is RFO driver resistance. Should we select target matching Z as same as RFO driver resistance? Hello,What is the Zchip value of a ST25R3916B-AQWT chip?Looking at the AN5276 page 29, the Qucs settings for Zchip is 3Ω and Zchiphalf of 1.5Ω.  Should I use this same value for simulating the ST25R3916B-AQWT chip?  The other app note AN4974 says it is applicable for ST25R391X parts and on Page 46 it recommends a Zchip value between 14Ω and 20Ω.What is the real NFC input impedance value of the ST25R3916B-AQWT chip?What value of Zchip should I use on the Qucs simulation?Thank you,Pablo

Hello, I am trying to use the "CR95HF.dll" file provided in STSW-95HF002 to make my own Visual C++ application. I tried everything I can to load this DLL but the visual studio is not able to lead it and gives a linking error - LKN1104 Cannot open file 'CR95HF.lib'I googled this error and tried all the possible ways and still was not able to proceed. I want to make a console application of my own to read my tag from MB1054B board. What is the configuration required by the Visual Studio so that I can avoid this error? Should the configuration platform on Visual Studio project should be x64 or Win32? What should be the build configuration, build or release?Also, I tried putting the .lib and .dll file at the same location as the my project's solution file. It should work right? the .dll file is also placed at C:\Windows\System32I want to make a .exe where the terminal pops up and starts reading my tag and printing the data. Some help on this would be appreciat

I am now using the ST25TV02KC tag (NFC type5 - ISO/IEC 15693) and I wanted to know if there might be someone out there that can clone the UID and manufacturer ID of the tag, so that I then cannot differentiate between the real and the counterfeited product?Thank you before!

Hi,I have tried to search the forum, but not been able to find a clear answer.I am very new to NFC and have started by acquiring the NFC03A1 (ST25R95) together with a NUCLEO board (F446RE).My hopefully simple questions are:1. Is it possible to write and read data from a tag?2. Which tags can/should be used for this?I have downloaded X-CUBE NFC3 and downloaded the "STM32L476RG_NUCLEO_PollingTagDetectNdef" project to the MCU and are able to run this from the terminal window.I have read some literature and it seems that NFC FORUM Tag Type 4/5 should be used, because they are NDEF?Thank you.Br.
