ST25 NFC/RFID tags and readers

I would like a sample code C program or even a list a commands that I need to use for reading and writing to the nfc tag. (ST25DV) via I2c. Are the commands similar to M24SR?@Thanks@Berenice BENVEGUDA​  @brk​ 

Hello,can you please suggest on what type of antennas do you suggest to be used along with ST25DV16K ? I was hoping to use NFC_ANTENNA_25X15 between the pins AC0 & AC1.Also can you please suggest if it will be a good idea to have the antenna on bottom layer and all the other electronic components on the top layer in the two layer board ? Or will it be better to increase the PCB size laterally and have the antenna on the same top layer as the electronic components ?I also plan to use a 2.4Ghz wireless communication chip antenna so what precautions should be taken to avoid interaction between the chip antenna and NFC antenna ?regardsSiddharth

Hello,I am using ST25R3911B and trying to understand in what cases Soft Framing Error will be generated - this is bit I_err2 in register 0x19.Based on the datasheet, it looks like this is only used when operating in NFCIP-1 mode, which is enabled by setting bt nfc_f0 in register 0x05. Is that correct?With register 0x05 set to 0, and using Type B at 424 Kbs, I noticed occasional soft frame errors. Is there any other condition that would trigger that error? 

I am trying to detect the NFC tap and try to raise a flag whenever a flag is seen and to do the same function each time.is there any example available?I am able to read and write to EEPROM but I don't get any idea how to detect a tap

I just read this document : https://www.st.com/content/dam/specialevents-assets/dc22/pdf/room-3-1-stdevcon22-session-nfc-for-wireless-charging.pdf there are two daughter boards, one based on ST25R3916 (NFC reader) and the other based on ST25DV-I2C (NFC dynamic tag). Both use STM32L476 as motherboard.However, the 3.3v power supply that I directly connected to L4 with EH energy in st25dv did not activate successfully. May I ask how to use NFC power supply to power MCU on the side of the label?

  Questions: Is there an app which uses the FTM but sends out only the data itself, without any other layer of added protocol? Thank you, Nir

Hello All, I have been getting familiar with the tools that ST has for their st25 Reader modules and found that the st25r3911b-DISCO board in conjunction with the discovery gui is a great tool for me, as I want to develop custom ndef messages for a type 4 nfc tag. The GUI does a lot of what I need it to but I want to be able to load in my own custom binary ndef messages and send the to the reader to then write to the tag. I found the "DLL_Demo.cpp" files buried in the st program files and it seems promising but the function calls to communicate with the reader have no context or function briefs. And unfortunately there is not a pre-coded case for reading an ndef message, only reading the UID of a an iso14443 type a tag (which a type 4 tag is). I can read the UID of the tag just fine but getting any more information out of it has eluded me. I have tried to use the "nfc" functions that the DLL links but when I try to "nfcRXNBytes()" i get an error back saying " No message". I know t

Hello all,I am using the M24LR Discovery kit which has an RF transceiver board with a CR95HF transceiver IC controlled by an STM32 MCU and a wireless tag, containing the M24LR04E-R EEPROM with an RF interface, controlled by an STM8 MCU. There is a demo application software provided, but it has limited utility which is why I had to source firmware for both individual boards and program them individually.I am having some difficulties as I cannot power the M24LR board from the energy harvesting from the antenna of the CR95HF board. According to the M24LR04E-R datasheet (pages 27 - 28), in order to turn on Energy Harvesting, bits 0, 1, and 2 of the configuration byte (table 14) must be set. This will then set bit 0 (named EH_enable) of the control byte (table 15) which enables the Energy Harvesting. I've tried all combinations of bits 0, 1, and 2 of the configuration bytes, but I have not been able to turn on Energy Harvesting as the tag is not powered from the CR95HF board and bit 0

Hello,I'm working with ST25R3911B and in my application i want to control the field strengh.I relied on the documentation at this chapter : 1.3.40 RFO normal level definition register page 80 in the Datasheet - ST25R3911B - High performance HF reader / NFC initiator with 1.4 W supporting VHBR and AATAnd, if i understand well if i write 0x00 in the 0x27 register it will enable all Ohms segments, it will make 510 ohms.If i write 0x01 510-256=254 right ?But when I test my application with a field detectorit it doesn't seem to react as expected. Am I doing something wrong ?Best regards,Yvan

the EH is used the X-NUCLEO-NFC07A1 ST1connector jumper must be correctly set. But I don't know how to set it. Can I use the energy from the EH pin to power the L4 through the output pin of the LTC3588?

Hello, I'm working on a product that needs sixteen antennas, so we're looking at using the ST25R391x series but have it be single ended, with each output going to a 1:8 antenna MUX. I have the multiplexer to test but first need to get single ended operation working. What is the best way to do that on one of the STMicro eval boards? I saw this answer and also this app note AN5592 but their baseline differential component values were very different from the eval boards so it made me cautious.Do you have a guide for which component values to change on one of the ST25R391x dev boards to allow for single ended operation? The end product uses a ST25R3916B but I have development boards for both the '3916B and the '3911. I don't have access to a network analyzer unfortunately.Also, when testing the single ended implementation, do I need to remove all the components on the other channel? It looks like that was done in AN5592.Finally, I think this antenna multiplexing would make for a great app

Hello,i want to build a project using two Arduino boards, which can transfer data (multiple strings or floats) using NFC. I was searching on the internet and found the M24SR64-Y or the ANT7-T-M23SR64 module. I've read on the internet, that it can be used with Arduino using I²C, however I didn't find a lot of existing projects which use this system. I was wondering, if I can use this chip/module to set up a communication, where 2 Arduinos both using the chip/module can transfer data (multiple float. strings, ...) between each other and maybe if there is already i library for this chip I could use. used STUHFL (ST25RU3993) to scan for RFID tags, and attempted to calculate reflect phase using real-time values of 'rssiLinI' and 'rssiLinQ' with the 'inventory' function, which was time-consuming.I utilized the CS demo of STUHFL to work with the ST25RU3993. To scan for all RFID tags, I executed the 'inventory.execute()' command. My objective was to choose a single tag and compute the reflect phase using the real-time values of 'rssiLinI' and 'rssiLinQ'. Currently, I'm employing the 'inventory' function to measure 'rssiLinI' and 'rssiLinQ', but this function is time-consuming and the final outcome is not immediately available.I would appreciate it if you could provide me with any code snippets, examples, or comprehensive documentation related to the ST SDK, as I'm not well-versed with this particular SDK.

I am currently using a mix of ST25R3916 and ST25R3916B with ST25RFAL002 v2.8.0.In the default analog config table for the 3916 (rfalAnalogConfigTbl.h), under CHIP_INIT, there is an undocumented register that is being configured:0x84U, 0x10, 0x10          /* Avoid chip internal overheat protection */This does not appear in the default analog config table for the 3916B.  It seems like disabling overheat protection is probably not what is intended since I don't see anything in the errata about any issues with overheat protection.  That is just my assumption though, so I wanted to get some clarification on why this was being configured.

Hello,i'm experiencing issues on M24SR64-Y chip. In fact, i can't write any record neither via RF or I2C. Until this morning (for weeks, actually) i was working fine, capable of writing whatever record i wanted to either via RF and I2C. Suddenly, it stopped working (NFC Tools android application returned "Writing error" warning). In the attachements you will find the CC Buffer from my chip. In particular, the 15th element (Write Access) field is set on 0xFE value. According to M24SR64's datasheet, there's no value 0xFE state but: 0x00 (Write access without any security), 0x80 (Locked), 0xFF (write not authorized).The tag is actually readable, and NFC Tools displays these infos: "Readable only: no", "Writeable: no".What do you suggest me to do?
