ST25 NFC/RFID tags and readers

Hello,I have been requested to have our RFID reader compatible with Android, iOS and physical cards.Android can perform HCE and NDEF messages can be read with our current reader (ST25R95). So far, so good.But, it seems apple is forcing to use Apple VAS so as to have the phone in emulation mode. But not sure how to be compatible with this. We just need to read some small info from the phones (a NDEF txt would be enough).How can I manage to read or exchange NDEF messages from a iOS phone?Is there any chipset certified to be used taht provides VAS compatibility?Regards, Ramon.

Hello,I am trying to read data from iOS/Andriod App with my reader.Currently, my reader is based on st25r95 and it is in tag detector mode waiting for physical cards. Everthing is ok so far. Now I need to wakeup and get data from smartphone or pshysical card.For getting data from iOs/Android App I guess I have 2 options:Use HCE in smartphone and read the data as a physical tag. But not sure if ST25R95 supports this or I need to meve to st95Hf, or which protocol to use, methods, etc. Use P2P, but I think p2p is only supported in ST95HF.My preferred choice is to go with HCE, but not sure how to proceed.Can you confirm this can be done with st25r95?I think I have to use 14443A protocol, but not sure if I need an upper FW layer for handlng this.I can not find any app in playstore to emulate tags. Can you provide any recommendation on how to test this.Regards, Ramon.

I am developing an RFID system that is capable to read a passive tag(M24LR04E) about 30cmMy antenna design chose Molex 1462360031 and the reader IC is ST25R3915. I use the matching circuit tool as the circuit reference but the signal did not pass over the 220pF capacitor. Therefore no signal could pass to the antenna. Is there any ST25R3915 matching design that is work?

Nordic board + ST25DV_Discovery_ANT_C6 = works great.Nordic board + ST25DV_Discovery_ANT_C1 = does NOT work (ST25 is not recognized). Why?What is the operational difference between C6 and C1?

I am writing the c# application using Feig "FEDM for NET" library to communicate with ST25DV02K-W1/W2. I want to use PresentPassword and WritePassword command. ST25DV02K-W1/W2 is recognized by the library as 'TH_ISO15693_STM' tag. The 'TH_ISO15693_STM' class does not have a Present/Write password command available. There are implemented in TH_ISO15693_STM_ST25DVxxK class. The problem is that memory is not recognized as 'TH_ISO15693_STM_ST25DVxxK'  and I can not cast 'TH_ISO15693_STM' to 'TH_ISO15693_STM_ST25DVxxK' class.  Does anyone have had this problem too? How can I resolve it?I try using the Transparent command but was not successful.

Hi,I am using ST25RU3993-EVAL board to measure temperature from an RFID tag RFM3200-AFR. Before reading the data from the memory bank, It is mentioned that, we need to send a select command to activate the temperature sensor. Right now I am using the SDK provided by the ST. Is there any limitation for tag write password length? Because in C demo, its limited the length of password as 4. But our tag is protected with 8 digit password. Would like to know how to handle the 8 digit password?is it only the modification of 'STUHFL_D_PASSWORD_LEN' to make it compatible to 8 bit password? What will be the effect of changing 'STUHFL_D_PASSWORD_LEN' to 8?

Hello,I'm facing problems while setting up the GPO interrupts from the evaluation board.My application is to write some data using I2C to the tag, and then read it from a reader. TO avoid collisions (writing to EEPROM with I2C when there is NO RF operations in progress) I'm trying to setting up the tag to enable the RF_ACTIVITY interrupt, which, as I understood, should pull the GPO pin to low from the RF command (from reader) SOF to the RF response from the tag EOF, and then return to 1.Now, I'm using a code which:1) present I2C password which per default is set to 64 bit zeroes;2) Write the command to the register using the function from the library3) trying to read the GPO pin with its function, which should return a zero when there's an RF command. I suppose, here, that an RF command means even a read command from the reader. Hello,I'm facing several problems in trying to correctly configure the GPO register and read the GPO pin. My application is to write I2C data to the tag and, to avoid collisions with the reader, use the GPO pin to avoid I2C writes when an RF reading operation is in progress.I was able to set the GPO register to 0x02, which should be the correct value for RF_ACTIVITY interrupt as per datasheet, but anytime I try to read the GPO status pin I get a 1 value which does never change.Can someone please help me?Thank you in advance

Hi everyone,I'm new to this forum. I'm facing a problem: I'm using the X-NUCLEO-NFC03A1 evaluation board mounted on a NUCLEO-F401RE. I'm also using, with an Arduino UNO, the X-NUCLEO-NFC04A1 tag evaluation board. I'm using the Arduino IDE for now, but since yesterday everything worked great.I'm able to install the Arduino STM32 library which contains the example code for the NFC03A1 reader. The upload to the board goes fine, and I can see in the console the message asking to press the user button to change mode, or just present an NFC tag to read its content. Now here comes the problem: without changing anything (nor code, nor board, nor the F401RE), suddenly the X-NUCLEO-NFC03A1 has stopped reading tags. If I press the user button in the NUCLEO it does change, and the LEDS on the X-NUCLEO-NFC03A1 power on, but anyway if I present the X-NUCLEO-NFC04A1 tag it does nothing, while some days ago it printed correctly the tag UID and told me there was no NDEF format message (in that case I w

ST25R3911B datasheet, section 1.2.21, paragraph "Antenna tuning using calibrate antenna direct command", indicates that the hardware algorithm uses a target phase (from the Antenna calibration target register).AN4914, section 3, says:Figure 18 shows the hardware-based AAT. This algorithm searches primarily the maximum amplitude of the input signal by changing the trim value. The target phase plays a minor role.I am trying to understand what does the Antenna calibration target register represent - is it a target phase or a target amplitude?

Hello,I would like to verify if my approach to handling the WTX S-block over I2C is correct.Currently when I send "update binary" command with data field longer than 2 bytes I receive the S(WTX) frame in response, which is expected. The command is:x03 x00 xD6 x00 x3E x06 xF1 xF2 xF3 xF4 xF5 xF6 xB5 x81 (send)The received frame is:xF2 x02 x0A x72 (recv)Immediately after receiving this frame I stop reading the I2C further, wait for 9.6*2 ms and send identical frame as a response:wait(9.6*2 ms)xF2 x02 x0A x72 (send)Then I still attempt to read the R-APDU for "update binary" however nothing is received from the I2C. The data gets properly written as the I am able to confirm with "read binary".So, my question is - should I still expect the normal R-APDU for "update binary" if the WTX is received? My setup is as follows:ST25R95 is in a QFN32 chip holder (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N6NF3ME/), which allows me to test with test leads to a breadboard.Powering chip (VPS and VTx) with 3.3V with a bench power supply, which reads a constant 0.25-0.26 Amps current when the IC is powered. I have two devices (which are with STM32F429 & ST25R 3916) from which I read NFC Wifi pairing and Bluetooth pairing tags. What can I change to make these two identical devices in terms of functionality (which are still physically different) indistinguishable from NFC-enabled Android phones? For example, could I read the MAC address of ST25P3916? Without an additional program, can I use any data from the already read tag. An internal voltage regulator allows the external voltage applied on VCC to supply the ST25DVxxKC, while preventing the internal power supply (rectified RF waveforms) to output a DC voltage on the VCC pin.Whats the purpose to output a DC voltage on VCC?I measure 2,3 Volts on VCC once the power is off. Whats the purpose of it? I guess its delivered by the I2C bus?

I'm having trouble integrating RFAL for ST25R3916 with an STM32F2xx project. I downloaded RFAL from here: https://www.st.com/en/embedded-software/stsw-st25rfal002.html#overview. I am trying to follow the steps from section 4.3 How to Run the First Example of the user manual: UM2890 - User manual RF/NFC abstraction layer (RFAL).The library did not include the following files: st_errno.h, timer.c, timer.h, utils.h. I would like to write my own program which can send messages and read from the mailbox on an st25dv-i2c. On one end I have a st32-L0 nucleo board which can access a x-nucleo-nfc04A1 mailbox via i2c.
