STM32 MCUs Boards and hardware tools

Hi all, I have no experience in designing a schematic, and I want to design one for my project where I will be using an STM32C0 with an RFM95. I also want to include a LiPo charging circuit, but I’m not sure if my design is correct, especially the LiPo charging circuit.Would be happy for your feedback

Good afternoon,  I am currently trying to calibrate my ADC4 of my NUCLEO U545 and I am using the following function: HAL_ADCEx_Calibration_Start(&hadc4, CalibrationMode, SingleDiff);As said before the first parameter is going to be the ADC4 that I am using but what about the other two parameters?What are they exactly? Do i have to declare the parameters somewhere in the code? Is there anyway that I can see in the documentation what are this parameters and the value i have to introduce to them? And finally, the ADC1 configuration is done the same way as in the ADC4? Thank you,  Marc

Initially, I ran a program from Simulink onto my STM32H755ZI, but I encountered an issue where only one core was functional, even though the STM32H755ZI has two cores. This led to the error "No device found on target."As I continued troubleshooting and making modifications, the situation worsened. Now, my STM32 board is completely unable to connect to any programming tools, including STM32CubeProgrammer, as shown in the attached image.Could you please assist me in resolving this issue?

Hi,I am experiencing an issue with my ST-Link V2 debugger. When I connect it to my PC, I often receive the error: "USB device not recognized: Unknown USB device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)" and ST-LINK orange LED turns on. Hello everyone,During some test I try to change the type of the StLink-V3 of the NUCLEO-H7A3ZI board to "STM32 Debug + VCP"After this I can't flash or connect to the board even if I update back to "STM32 Debug + MAss storage + VCP".I try to erease the flash content using STM32CubeProgrammer, after that I can connect the debugger and flash a SW :  Erasing memory corresponding to segment 0: Erasing internal memory sector 0 Download in Progress: File download complete Time elapsed during download operation: 00:00:00.070 Verifying ... Download verified successfully Target is not responding, retrying... Target is not responding, retrying... Target is not responding, retrying...  The Flash succed but the target is not responding. I also try only with a new empty project, so the SW is not the problem. Did you have any idea how to programm again this board ? Thanks for feedback. Maïck

I have the below code, which is supposed to update DAC with sinewave via SPI3 bus. It was configured and working fine via discrete command, but when I used timer7 to generate an event and update DAC16 via SPI3 via the HAL library, it went to hard fault. I have never seen this before. What caused the hard fault to occur?I use Nucleo STM32L476 and updated IDE and drivers.Note I have not included the /CS code (yet) because I was trying to figure out what caused the hard fault. Hello,I'm new to embedded programming, and I'm currently working on establishing a basic SPI connection between an STM32 microcontroller and the BMI270 IMU sensor by Mikroe. My goal is to read the Chip ID (CHIP_ID register at 0x00) and get a response of 0x24, which confirms proper communication,Currently, I'm not getting the expected 0x24 and instead receiving either 0x00 or 0xFF when reading the Chip ID. Hello,I am a PowerTrain Electronics Hardware Architect by profession.For one of my new hobby electronics developement I decided to use STM32 micro controller.To start with I bought NUCLEO_F030R8 and able to blink on board LED as I program. Then I tried to program on board micro controller with my ST-LINK/V2 ISOL. I disconnected both jumpers at CN2. Tapped out SWCLK of target controller from pin 2 of CM6. Then tapped out SWDIO from pin 4 of CN6. I took 3.3V and GND from CN6 pins 4 and 6 respectively. I connected these four wires to ST-LINK/V2 ISOL as in the image In Debug configurations of CubeIDE, ST-LINK/V2 ISOL is founf with SWD setting. But when I try to program I get error message as target not found.What am I missing here? Is the reset is mishandked by onboard programmer? Should I take care of this and few others?Thank you, Anesh S. 

so i was following an online tutorial (from digikey, where they teach how to use dma) and in it the values from ADC is transmitted through DMA to a buffer of decent size (4096byte). But it seems they always use the hal delay function after using uart transmission. Is this necessary, i noticed that without the delay function my frequency goes from 1khz to 7khz and i dont see any issues with the transmission too.i mentioned about the dma from adc in case its relevant for using the delay function in uart

I am experiencing a bug in the ST-Link FW V2.J37.M26setupNucleo-F446RE power from E5Vit takes a long time to "boot" or start to execute code. some code will never start running. the problem goes away if the ST-Link is power from USB before E5V is turn onI have captured the problem on the scope. Hi,the STEVAL-PROTEUS has a 34-pin expansion connector.in UM3000 User manual is written:"The pinout of the 34-pin connector is compliant with the STMOD+ by using a dedicated adapter (not included inthe kit)."Where can I buy such a dedicated adapter?Or any advice on how to make a cable to use the USART1?Thanks, Peter

Since STM32 STLINK Utility Command Line Interface has return codes, why STM32Cube Programmer don't have?

Hello,Newbie here got nucleo-g431kb and I was trying to power a sensor from either CN3 pin 4 at 5V or CN3 pin 14 at 3.3V, but neither pin outputs the correct voltage. Pin 14 outputs ~300mV and pin 4 outputs ~450mV. This is also with no external load, I'm simply probing the pin to check the voltage. I'm powering the board through CN1 and ran succesfully printing "Welcome to STM32 world !", LD4 is green, and SB15 is on. I'm assuming that either pin would output the voltages without needing to program the board, is this assumption correct? Anything else that I should check for? Thank you in advance for your help. 

I am using nucleo-g491re and i was unable to use prescale of 1 asynchronous for my ADC. the solution, on this site, was to change VSO0 to VSO1 but it seems my board has no such option. only to boost (whatever that means). So how can i get the maximum possible 170Mhz for my adc (if possible). Its not strictly required as the ADC sampling needs to be done and transmitted at 10 kHz only roughly. (actually now that i think of it, i think its not needed to sample at high frequencies because i also need to send to another device as well, and that has a very much lower frequency for sending data) 

In my project, I am using a low power timer (LPTIM1) to handle input from a quadrature encoder. I have set the timer up in CubeMX as follows:- IN1 and IN2 are used for the hardware inputs (this is always true; I cannot set this up).- Channel 1 and 2 are active in output compare mode with no external pins, only interrupts.- Clock polarity is set to both edges.- Sample time (glitch filter) is set to 8 transitions.- The LSI (32 kHz) is selected as its input clock.At boot, I set the value of both channels to be the current timer values plus and minus 2 respectively. This should mean I get an interrupt when the encoder is rotated to the next mechanically stable position.On any interrupt, I reset the values of the channel registers to be the new value of the CNT register plus and minus 2. What I expect to see, is a single interrupt for any mechanical click on the encoder, where I can use the CNT register to figure out if the rotation was up or down.What I see instead, is that this works

Hello,I am currently using STM32N6657XOHXQ(Discovery Kit), I am currently running UART_HyperTerminal_IT example given in CubeMX Example. I need to measure the current consumption by board for that. I have removed Resistor (R31)  as For external SMPS Output power mode, and my assumption is that after removing resistor and placing current measurement device between 3 and 4 pin of CN2 connector the current should be measured and prints should start but when i remove Current measurement device from the loop, the prints should be stopped as the path will be open. Still i am getting the print on console. Can you please prove the detailed steps to measure current consumption of the MCU Core.

Hi I am working on a project to make an HD camera with 30-60fps streamed live over the internet, I am using Linux based Radxa board for the task which is quite power hungry and overkill. I wanted to go towards an embedded system i.e STM32N6, before ordering the DK i wanted to know how can i use the board to stream the video live, I know it has Ethernet but if there is a version available with Wifi that'll be great OR what is the possible way integrate Wifi with this as i have to make a very small form factor PCB with low power requirements to do that. Any help will be appreciated.

I'm having an issue with connecting my Nucleo board STM32L552ZE-Q via USART3 to both a terminal and SerialPort. I configured the timer and USART3, but I'm not getting any output on the terminal or in SerialPlot. I’m not sure where the error might be. Can anyone provide guidance or troubleshooting steps?

I have several NUCLEO-H755ZI-Q boards, the documentation says that the clock coming out from STLINK should be 25MHz but I meassured STLK_MCO and found an 8MHz signal... on SB72 to be more precise.The sticker on the boards sayNUCLEO-H755ZI-QNUH755ZIQ$AT3I was having issues when using HSE as a clock source, because I was configuring it to 25MHz as stated in the documentation and as it defaults to in CUBEMX... The issues went away when I set it to 8MHz.Under the microscope X1 crystal shows 25.000.Is there something to configure on STLINK to get the 25MHz?Could the board be fake?
