STM32 MCUs Boards and hardware tools

Hello everyoneI am using a Nucleo H7S3L8 evaluation module am I am trying to get some GPIOs and peripherals to work. I have generated a demo project that toggles a few LEDs and that works. Then I started replacing the GPIO ports (A, B, etc.) and pin numbers in order to get other GPIOs to toggle (I left the rest of the code as-is, really just replaced the letters and numbers). However, I didn't manage to get an output on any of the GPIOs belonging to ports O and P. I tried GPIOO 0 and 4 as well as GPIOP 0-3 and attached the analyzer at CN10 13, 15, 19, 21, 23, 25 with GND at CN10 17 (always one at a time). All these signals do not toggle. Other GPIO banks such as GPIOB and GPIOM work.Are the O and P ports different than the others? Do I miss some special settings? I will later be using the XSPI there, so I will need exactly these pins.I appreciate any help!PS Here are my jumper settings:JP1: not connectedJP2: connectedJP3: only STLK connectedJP5: connected to 3.3 VJP6: not connected

Excited to see a new connector on new STM32 Nucleo 144 boards like the Nucleo-H5E5ZJ. Is the Connector intended for customers to design their own modules only, or will ST offer a module as well?   PS: I still hope to also see a Qwiic connector, or at least a footprint for it, on Nucleo boards some time in the future. 

I am currently using the NUCLEO-H563ZI board to test SPI functionality. I configured SPI1 as a master and was able to successfully transmit and receive data using HAL_SPI_TransmitReceive(). However, when I switched to SPI2, I found that the clock signal does not toggle at all, no matter what I try. Hello!I just bought the stlink-v3minie for myself but I am unable to flash my board using it. I can program my board with a borrowed stlink-v3pwr but not with the minie.I have upgraded the firmware on it and it still doesnt work.     Reference Board: Nucleo-H753ZI (MB1364, ST-LINK V3, rev B) Summary We have an external UART sensor (WitMotion HWT9053 IMU) connected to the Arduino D0/D1 header pins on a Nucleo-H753ZI. The sensor is confirmed working on Arduino. We have verified all USART register configurations are correct at the hardware level. A full GPIO scan of every MCU pin (PA0–PG15) shows zero toggling signal from the sensor. We suspect a board-level routing issue (solder bridges) but need ST guidance. Approach History Phase 1: Custom STM32H7 Firmware We wrote custom firmware using STM32H7 HAL to communicate with the sensor at 57600 baud via USART1 on PB6(TX)/PB7(RX). I realized that in my discovery board with STM32F411VE the accelerometer/magntometer is lsm303agr and not lsms303DLHC. I would have an updated schematic.

quectel bg96 does not reply to messages from stm32l496ag on kit board p-l496g-cell02 but since I bought it. I could not even start blink the led on bg96 so I assume there is something missing to me. I use usb cable to stlink com and debug from the software but never had a response from bg96 after sending at commands. What I can do about? thank you. Marcello

Hi, I am using the STM32L4 B-L475E-IOT01A board with Wi-Fi module Inventek system ISM43362-M3G-L44.I have seen the example WiFi projects but they do not have the .ioc file. So my question is, is there any middleware available in STM32CubeMX which can help me implement WiFi connectivity via USART? The communication interface between the stm32 board and the WiFi module is SPI3 by default but the documentation says that use of USART3 is also possible, and USART3 is what I want to use.So any easy ways to do that? Any available middleware in CubeMX? Or is any example project available online?Thanks!

I am experiencing issues powering the STM32H755ZIT6 MCU on our custom board. The schematic has been derived from the NUCLEO-H755ZI-Q development board reference design, and we have verified that there are no apparent design or assembly errors. However, the MCU fails to power up as expected.   All VDD pins are connected to an external 3.3 V supply (VDD_MCU). For the power supply configuration, we selected the default internal SMPS-only configuration, identical to the NUCLEO-H755ZI-Q board, as detailed below: VDD_MCU is connected to VDDSD (pin 16).VLXSD is connected through a 2.2 µH inductor to the VDDLDO pins (70, 105, 143) and the VCAP pins (68, 103, 140).In CubeIDE, PWR_DIRECT_SMPS_SUPPLY is selected under RCC > Power Parameters > Supply Source.Power Regulator Voltage Scale 3 is selected under RCC > Power Parameters > Power Regulator Voltage Source. Hi,   I'm a beginner programming a NUCLEO-N657X0-Q. The LD5 is blinking and I can't get a connection to the board. Even with the demonstration code/project, it wouldn't work. In STM32CubeIDE I get the attached error message. As of yet, I never got to launch any program at all.   Thank you for your help! Len

Hello everyone, I'm facing a very frustrating issue with USART2 on my Nucleo-L475VGT6 board using the built-in ST-LINK Virtual COM Port. Hi everyone, I recently bought an EVSPIN32F0602S1 board, but I’m unable to connect to it. Windows is giving me an error when I plug it in. I’ve already tried changing the USB cables and even tested it on different laptops, but I’m still getting the same error. we are facing after migrating our design from STM32F405ZGT7 to STM32H743ZI.We have an automotive application where a horn load creates significant EMI transients. With our previous design using STM32F405ZGT7, the system was stable and did not experience any MCU freezing or malfunction during horn activation.However, after migrating to STM32H743ZI — while keeping the PCB layout, grounding strategy, power architecture, filtering components, and external circuitry identical — we began experiencing intermittent MCU freezing during horn actuation.After extensive debugging and hardware validation, we observed the following:The issue only occurs when ST-Link is connected.When ST-Link is disconnected, the system behaves significantly more reliably.The noise appears to be injected through the ST-Link interface path.The horn generates high transient noise despite having local snubbers and filtering.We have already implemented:RC snubber across the horn loadEMI input filtering near MCU supplyProp

I noticed two holes at Bottom of the MCU area on the STM32G4 Nucleo board. What is their purpose?

Is there any utility in the holes and silkscreen circles around the TFBGA225 on the NUCLEO-H7S3L8?  It appears to be the same pattern on the Discovery board, suggesting it might be for BGA placement or maybe a heatsink. Edited to put the image in-line for better visibility

Hello All, I need some guidance from you. I have a project with an STM32 microcontroller, encoders with push buttons, USB communication (for firmware updates and communicating with a Windows app, etc). MIDI in out communication, digital potentiometers, and digital switches. Can someone help me, please, and take a look at my diagram to correct it before starting to make the prototype board? My experience with stm is really limited. I heard that a lot of decoupling capacitors are needed. Hey, I made a pixracer clone using STM32F427VIT6, it works after i flash it with SWD using CUBE prog. but it wont turn on after a power cycle. the system works fine after flash as long as I don't disconnect power. I have added the schematics. BOOT0 is pulled down with 10k BOOT1 is pulled down with 10k and connected to 3v3 though boot switchnRST is pulled up with 10k to 3v3 I thought its nRST 3v3 stability issue, I manually tied nRST to gnd to keep it In restart mode till 3v3 stabilise , still same behaviour. I also disabled the 24mhz HSE, still the same behaviour, works after fresh flash, dies after power cycle. The schematic is a clone of MRO pixracer flight controller, only difference is I didn't use a power supervisor , instead i pulled nRST to 3v3 with 10k.any inputs are appreciated thanks!
