I am using an STM32G4 microcontroller with UCPD and the USBPD middleware. I was following this tutorial (same as AN5418 https://www.st.com/resource/en/application_note/dm00663511-how-to-build-a-simple-usbpd-sink-application-with-stm32cubemx-stmicroelectronics.pdf:(https://youtu.be/-vsJhNIaHxE?si=3wosMAMXrO40mVZrI, however, have a custom PCB without a TCPP chip, I'm not sure if this makes a difference. I set up everything according to the tutorial and I added the code it requires. Hello,We have ordered STM32G431VBT6 microcontrollers from different sources both online and local but while testing we were getting a voltage drop at source after isolating the whole PCB the issue was found to be localized to the microcontroller. After checking the supply and all the pins we found that the pin 14 that is the NRST pin of the microcontroller is showing a short with the VSS pins of the controller. Thus, after verifying the issue with another controller we got the NRST pin showing short with VSS pin on all controllers thus we ordered from different sources and found that all the controllers were showing the same behavior. We checked online on community forum and the documentation but found no solution. Is there an alternate way to operate with this controller and if not is there an issue with the controller itself

Hello,I am currently testing the MT25QL512ABB flash memory on an STM32H747I-DISCO board.The board has two of these flash chips, and I am attempting to operate them in dual mode.I am using the driver from the official STMicroelectronics repository available at this URL:https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/stm32-mt25ql512abbMy test code is designed to do the following:On the first boot, it writes data to a specific region of the flash.It then immediately reads back the data from that same region to verify that the write operation was successful.After a reboot, the code reads the same flash region again to ensure the data is still correct.The initial write and immediate read-back verification works perfectly. However, after I reboot the board, the subsequent read operation fails. The data read from the flash does not match the data that was originally written.I have already disabled all cache functions, so I don't believe this is a caching issue.I am looking for advice on what could be c

Hello,I’m currently working on a project to synchronize two ICG and ECG devices. Although they require different oscillator frequencies—and therefore use different timers—both timers are driven by the same APB1 clock.Phase offsetSince they share the APB1 clock, does this mean that, despite generating different output frequencies, only a fixed phase offset will exist between the two timers?Divider accuracyWhen a timer applies division via the prescaler (PSC) and auto-reload register (ARR), is the output accuracy the same as the original clock’s accuracy? For example, if the source clock has a 1% frequency error, will that same 1% error persist after prescaling/division?I have searched the reference manuals but could not find any information on error introduced by the divider itself. Any documentation or insight on timer-divider accuracy would be greatly appreciated.Thank you!

Dear community,I would like to send a char buffer through UART using DMA, but at a precise interval (or delay).I know how to use the DMA with USART TX, it works flawlessly.The interesting bit is the delay between the DMA transfers.I know I can do it with a polling loop, and I know I can do it with a timer and in its interrupt, trig the DMA by enabling the DMA channel.On the C0 devices (and others), the DMA uses a DMAMUX that has a SYNC feature, which according to the documentation, should provide exactly what I'm looking for.However, I could not make it work at all.According to RM0490, table 51 on page 245, the sync input 21 is TIM14 TRGO (by the way, what is TIM14 signal for TRGO ?). So I set the SYNC ID, the number of requests (to anything for the moment, let say 4), rising edge for the sync polarity and set the SE bit (which is redundant with SPOL in my view, since SPOL = 0 will stop the sync).Has anyone succesfully used the SYNC feature of DMAMUX, to a similar use case ?Thank you a

I am designing the power system for an application using the STM32N645. In the datasheet for the STM32N6x5 minimum Vbat is defined as "TBD". In the STM32N6570-DK schematic the Vbat rail is set to 3.3V. If it can operate at 1.8V it would simplify the power architecture. Does anyone have any experience with running it at 1.8V? Or is there a timeline for when this specification will be released?Thanks!-Bash

I am trying to make the ADC channels sample the current through some motor channels synchronised to the center of the center aligned PWM waveform to avoid switching noise.The microcontroller I am using is the STM32F411 series, and I am using the first 3 channels of Timer 2 for PWM. The 4th channel is set to "Output compare no output", and I also set the timer trigger output event selection to Output compare (OC4REF). I set the pulse of channel 4 to the TOP value of the timer so it triggers when the counter counts to the TOP (midpoint of PWM). For the ADC, i am trying to sample 4 inputs (2 phases for 2 motors) and shift the data into a buffer using DMA. I enabled scan conversion mode as well as DMA continuous requests, and set the trigger source to Timer 2 capture compare 4 event, triggered on the rising edge. Hi,Could someone be so kind as to explain in ***-proof terms exactly how I would connect an ST-link from a nucleo board to a custom STM32533RE PCB so that it can be programmed and debugged with STM32CubeIDE?  Which pins from the MCU do I need to make available on the PCB and how do they connect to the nucleo?  I haven't found a clear illustration of how to do this and some of the guides/comments I have seen have been conflicting!  I'm getting ready to send the PCB off to the fab house and want to make sure I've got this right as it would be an expensive mistake.

Hi,   I have implemented a function to jump to system memory from main application. And it is working absolutely fine on NUCLEO-G071RB and I am able to flash the controller using I2C Boot loading method using stm32flash.   But same code when I tried with different controller of same series STM32G071CBU7 (small package) the behavior is intermittent. As some time it is working and some time I am getting NACK from I2C.    Can some one help me to point out what could be wrong here.

Hello.. Anyone can advise if using USB Device for DFU, which crystal should i use? 25MHz? Why i dun see the 25 MHz crystal on 767 Nucleo ?  if i only include the 8 MHz crystal (as the main clock )is it fine to drive the USB Device DFU? Please advise? 

We are using the STM32H573VIT3Q in our project and have developed a POC board.While programming via STM32CubeIDE in debug mode, we are encountering random errors (refer to the attached screenshots).Additionally, STM32CubeProgrammer is detecting the controller inconsistently—some boards are recognized, while others are not (error attachments included).In a few cases, boards that previously worked are no longer accepting new code uploads, although the existing firmware continues to run properly.Any ideas on what could be causing these issues?

At present, we have not found IC bent leads issues in the original packaging.We are investigating the risk points. Meanwhile, we have also checked the PCN of the materials. Goal Measure input signal frequency using Input Capture (IC). Generate a regular waveform using Output Compare (OC) Toggle. Problem 1 — IC prescaler appears to have no effect I expected the IC prescaler to capture every Nth edge (e.g., DIV2 → every 2nd event) so that the measured tick delta would scale accordingly. However, regardless of ICPrescaler (DIV1/DIV2/DIV4/DIV8), the capture deltas (and computed frequency) are unchanged. Hi all,   in RM0456 is plenty of examples with using LLI but only one without it. And even that contain a block diagram that does not explain anything. Also AN5593 does not mention cyclic transfer. So, here i am. Does this diagram means, that if the LLR register is null, the transfer will automatically restarted and thus used in cyclic transfer without LLI?  Really guys, review the documentations befor releasing them.

hello,i am working on project with a stm32wle5jc and am fairly new to stm tools. all was working well but after a little break on another project it will no longer flash the board with the stm ide (1.19.0) and says "No ST-LINK detected! Please connect ST-LINK and restart the debug session.". i have an st-link/v2 connected and the ide can actually see the st-link under "help" "st-link upgrade" (i am on a macbookpro m1, which also sees the st-link under "system report", "usb")i can flash the code i want to flash from the ide (~/workspace/<projectname>/Debug/<projectname>.elf) with the stmcubeprogrammer without any problemi have restarted the ide, restarted the mac, switched cables, switched projects, switch boards, tried a st board nucleo board with embedded st-link (or whatever it is)... but always get the same error messagewhat is going on?any help greatly appreciated!thanks, frank
