I have an application running on STM32G491 which uses the RTC. There is an external 32768Hz crystal and a backup coin cell battery (I have checked that it is not depleted: 3.12V). There are two issues:Scenario #1: I pull the main battery, wait a bit, re-insert it, and restart the firmware (I hold a power button until a power latch is toggled on by the firmware). The RTC loses the time and resets to zero roughly half the time. The RTC initialisation code calls  HAL_RCCEx_PeriphCLKConfig() and then HAL_RTC_Init(). I periodically call HAL_RTC_GetTime() followed by HAL_RTC_GetDate() while the application is running.Scenario #2: I don't pull the main battery but power down the device a bit more gracefully (I hold the power button until the power latch is toggled off). Then I restart the firmware as above. In this case it the RTC does not lose the time but it seems that the RTC does not increment during the powered-off period.SystemClock_Config() enables the LSE

Other chips have the erratum "Transmit data FIFO is corrupted when a write sequence to the FIFO is interrupted with accesses to certain OTG_HS registers" (eg ES0392 2.25.2 for STM32H743). It isn't listed in the ES0596 rev5 errata for STM32H7Rxx/7Sxx - are those devices unaffected, or it just hasn't been listed there? Hello ST support,As a customer working on a project using STM32, I am looking for STM32 development or evaluation boards that feature a socket-based MCU instead of a soldered one. This allows for easy replacement of the microcontroller during the use of some sensitive operations.I searched the ST website and other sources but couldn’t find such boards officially offered. Are there any ST development kits or third-party solutions that support this feature? If so, could you please provide details on availability and where they can be purchased?Thanks in advance for your help!

I'm using STM32F070CBT at 8mhz with almost all pins active (used for GPIOs, PWM, SPI,I2C,etc) , i'm using a timer to enter stop mode with low power regulator and waking up using GPIO external event, after waking up i checked that PWMs and GPIOs are still working but SysTick seems to have stopped as all delay functions enter a infinite loop on HAL_GetTick inside the delay function and SysTick_Handler is not being called anymore (i tested that using breakpoints) , i tried to activate SysTick again using :Hal_Init();HAL_ResumeTick();HAL_InitTick(0);SysTick->CTRL=0b011;also tried to set SysTick priority to 0, also tried to recall "SystemClock_Config();" alongside SysTick activate function but it didn't work too , does anybody know what i need to do in order to re-activate SysTick?

I want to capture images larger than 0xFFFF via DCMI using double buffering with two GPDMA1 linked list nodes. As guidance, I'm following the DCMI_ContinuousCap_EmbeddedSynchMode example. The reference manual for the STM32U5 has been updated to reflect this, but the process may be required for other STM32 PLLs that support live updates of the FRAC N parameter. I ran into the same issue on the STM32H503 but the delay requirement is not documented in the H503 reference manual and I suspect it applies to any other part with the same features. 

Hi everyone,We’re working with the STM32H730 microcontroller and have a test setup for displaying content on a screen using LTDC. The test currently fills a buffer in external RAM, which is configured on internal flash memory. The result is as expected, and everything works fine.For this, we have configured the OctoSPI (Octo2 mode) in HyperRAM mode and set up the necessary peripherals such as LTDC, DMA2D, and others.Now, we want to replicate the same test, but this time using the external Flash memory. We already have control over the jump to the external flash, as we are developing code that executes from there. However, when we attempt to replicate the test, we encounter noise and distortion on the screen.This raises several questions for us:Since the external flash is slower than internal, should we modify the clock configuration, external RAM settings, or other parameters to compensate?Is it necessary to perform a DE_init for LTDC

#Intention : Simultaneous measurement of 8 frequencies ( Squre wave, upto 1.5 Mhz ).I have tested this youtube tutorial by Controllerstech  on my board Nucleo-STM32U545REQ. First of all, i could not setup the board with HSE oscillator according to the YouTube tutorial so, i proceeded with HSI clock, It has some 1% precision.Here is my clock configuration running at 160MHz. Secondly, my timer 1 as PWM1 Generation.

I am trying to flash a chip on a PCB. Right now I just have it toggle an LED. Sometimes it connects, but does not toggle, only stays lit. After power cycling, it does not even light up, it just stays off. Is there something i am missing, perhaps in the option bits or some clock setting. Also, on another board, it is just not connecting, what are some common issues?Lastly, on third test, it connected a few times. However around a month later, it just won't connect. Any insight? Thanks!

Hello, I am trying to write to the option byte area of an stm32u5g9vjt6q using the built in bootloader over the canFD protocol.  I have verified I am able to erase and write my programs to flash over canFD using the built in boot loader so I know that my python script is working so far.  As far as option byte data is concerned the information is scattered and scarce, I think I have identified the correct option byte base address as 0x4002 2040 as that is the address that is written to when updating option bytes from within cubeProg. I have also verified in RM0456 table 6 memory map that the flash registers are 0x4002 2000 - 0x4002 23FF and using table 79(flash register map) found at offset 0x40 is register FLASH_OPTR.AN5405 does not go deep into writing option bytes but I assume it unlocks and writes the keys to be able to write to the option bytes when it receives an address matching the option byte area as outlined in the USART bootloader ref manual.I also

Hi Everybody! I confronts a very interesting problem at my project. Details above:Hardware: NUCLEOG071RBAttached the IOC configuration. Control the SPI CS pin by software. I got small 4-8us signal spikes all  GPIO, SPI, I2S pins. SPI and I2S powered by DMA. I tried connect serially 33K resistor with less success. The 3.3V power line is stable. Jumper wire length 10 cm. Any idea what I did wrong?  

Hi, I want to go to sleep/stop mode with STM32 and wake on interrupt. After last interrupt it should wait for 10sec and go back to sleep. I have a question regarding voltage level I/O compatibility for STM32 MCUs. The sensors providing analog output within a 0–5V range, while those with digital output at either 0V or 12V. Although some GPIO pins on the MCU are 5V tolerant, they are scattered across the package. To standardize the voltage levels to 0–3.3V (for both safety and ease of routing), I have chosen to use resistor dividers. While resistor dividers should work well for digital signals, I am unsure whether they are sufficient for analog signals or if a dedicated voltage level shifter IC would be a better option.My concern is that the tolerance of resistor dividers could introduce inaccuracies in the voltage supplied to the ADC, leading to incorrect scaling and unreliable measurements. Note HAL is not used (it's a strict bare metal application since this is a home experiment to reduce power consumption to the bare minimal). As the subject states I am trying to get Ethernet work on the VET6 Microcontroller. I have tried to configure my microcontroller like the Ethernet example project provided on Github for the STM32H723GT. I have tried the exact code on the H723GT Nucleo Board and it instantly works. The only changes I made were the Heap for FREERTOS which i changed to heap3 and I configured ip-adress etc. to my needs. However when I configure the VET6 with the same parameters it doesnt work. I dont get any errors when flashing the program on the microcontroller, but when I debug the code the programm runs into a hardfault error during the configuration of LWIP. I have already tried reconfigurating the memory in CubeMx, but this doesnt work either. I have also read that I have to reconfigure the memory in the flash script, but by changing the adresses of Rx descriptor etc. in the flash script i can't even build the code.I think I have tried all the things that are mentioned in the README for STM

Hi,I  have made my own board using STM32F103RBT. I am trying to run a demo code on it using ST Link V2. When I first connected the board  I was able to connect to the controller after downloading ST Link Server 2.1.1 and dump a code, but when I am trying to dump it 2nd time I am getting an error of Device not found.Error in final launch sequence: Failed to start GDB serverFailed to start GDB serverError in initializing ST-LINK device.Reason: (4) No device found on target. I am attaching pic of my MCU Schematic 

Hi,I am stuck on this issue on the STM32U5A9J-DK. I have ported the USB part from a H725 i have running. Where i have copied the init code from generated code.In USB_CoreReset() the USB_OTG_GESTCTL_CSRST bit is never reset and hence a timeout occurs.The OTG HS Clock mux is set to HSE, which is 16 MHz.The OTG PHY ref. clock selection is set to 16 MHz.
