STM32 MCUs Products

I've been programming microprocessors for over 40 years and the STM32F301K8 has me stumped.I'm required to use it in a low budget project with some unusual characteristics.I need a working example of:Using STM32CubeIDE and the target STM32F301K8 or STM32F302K8. I have the NUCLEO-F446RE development board to work with and it has the appropriate capabilities for testing. (Pin references below are for the stm32F301)1) A preset DAC output level is linked to a comparator (minus input PA4), with an external analog input signal to same comparator (positive input PA7).2) When the comparator output transitions to negative output, a pair of SPIs are to be triggered. The two SPIs (Tx only), each using a DMA output in synchronous parallel. The contents of the buffers act as a 2-bit wide nonblocking & uninterrupted data stream. An interrupt is needed when sending is complete.3) The SPIs will run at 4MBs, 8-Bit, msb first, no delay between bytes, outputs (P

Hello, I am receiving data on my STM32F411E board via the I2C interface with the Mpu9255 IMU sensor. I get HAL_BUSY status in case of any power outage or re-debug.https://stackoverflow.com/questions/69912431/issue-in-the-i2c-communication-stm32-hal-libraryWhen I apply the solution mentioned here, the problem is not solved directly. Additionally, I have to press the Reset button on the card. If I do this solution every time the card is turned on, the HAL_BUSY situation occurs less frequently, but I have tested it many times and sometimes it gets into this situation again.Can I trigger the Reset button software for such situations? Unfortunately, the NVIC_SystemReset function did not work for me. I need your suggestions on this matter. Thanks.

The product selection guide lists a lot of MPU and MCU devices but, I cant see an efficient way to form a logical AND of several attributes/features :(Eg I'd like to find within some max pin counts such as 16 or for that matter any way to cross reference with some logic string combine such as:-word size & pin count & max speed & low power mode & flash size etc - without getting a rather long scattered list which I have to wade through laboriously :( Ideally Id also like to receive an email notification if a new or planned product within that search criteria (or maybe a secondary set of attributes as well) becomes available and can be sampled for evaluation.So...How can I obtain a list with links to respective data sheets of all current 8 & 32 bit MCU MPU with pin count say no greater than 16 (or whatever I select) and if possible sorted by maximum operating frequency ?Thanks,MikeP

The datasheet of STM32H723ZG claims to have a highest USART baudrate at 12.5Mbit/s (with 100MHz kernel frequency and 8 oversampling). But with voltage scaling 0 (VOS0), it is possible to have a higher kernel frequency to 137.5MHz, and therefore the baudrate can be increased to 17.18 Mbit/s. The max system clock frequency they put on the datasheet is 550MHz, which is also based on VOS0. My question is, why all official docs use 12.5Mbit/s, instead of 17.18Mbit/s? Can we go to or use 17.18Mbit/s for USART without any potential issues? When configuring VOS0, the board will go to the so called "boosted performance", will this performance be degraded after "long time" running, like causing issues of clock deviation/degradation or instability issues?

Hi  I am trying to send some CAN-bus messages from a STM32H723VGT6 mounted on a BIGTREETECH SKR 3 EZ V1.0 I am following this video to send standard CAN messages in external loopback mode (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXyzaaSk6Qs&t=568s&ab_channel=ControllersTech). Hello,currently I'm using stm32l496 in that i want to wake up the controller from the standby mode on an external interrupt.i configured pin PC13 (supports wake up functionality) as an external interrupt with rising edge , now when the MCU enters into the standby mode, upon receiving external interrupt will the device wakeup?

I’ve created a SPI peripheral as a slave in transmit-only mode. It operates in circular mode DMA and generates a complete callback every 20 milliseconds. Upon receiving the complete callback, I want to modify the source address of the DMA request.Currently, I achieve this by aborting the SPI and then initiating a new DMA transfer with the updated address configuration. Why do I need to change the DMA Source Address?I’m implementing a ring buffer pointer.  Note: I’ve utilized the HAL framework for this implementation.

Hello,I'm looking for an STM32 evaluation board that supports UART communication at 20 Mbps. Ideally, having two separate UART ports would be nice, but one would also work.I've read that the STM32H7 family supports higher UART speeds, but it seems they max out around 12 Mbps. If no MCU supports this rate, would it be possible to overclock an MCU to achieve a higher UART data rate?Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello STM32 community,I am currently working on an STM32 project where I need to manage two RTC alarms: Alarm A for periodic wake-ups and Alarm B for switching modes after a specific timeout. The system enters standby mode and wakes up multiple times before Alarm B's timeout. I am encountering an issue where Alarm B does not trigger as expected after the timeout.Issue:Both alarms work individually, but Alarm B fails to trigger when both alarms are used together, especially after waking-up from standby mode.Question:I understand that when waking up from standby mode, the MCU typically performs a restart. Could this be causing Alarm B not to trigger after the wake-up?Is there a way to make this approach work reliably, where Alarm B triggers even afte

I m working with STM32 MCU from last 3 years  i made many boards for STM MCU but i never face the problem which I'm facing now. In past i made boards for lower pin packages ( up to LQFP 64 ) mostly they have single power input pins this time i made a board for STM32G474 ( LQFP 128 )  it have several power input pins and i connected all them in design,Now what issue I'm facing is that when i started firmware development i noticed that CPU do not run code automatically i need to disconnect it several time from power and then its run code and start consume power, in working condition circuit draw 0.09mA  from 12V rail and when its not start code its consume 0.03mA.where is problem what I'm doing wrong here?Is that something with reset pin? Because i did not pull it up externally. 

I have quite a complicated case, where a interrupt is beeing executed, allthough it has been disabled, and its flag beeing cleared. At the same time interrupts are disabled, and i put a few nops in between just to rule out any delay related issues. The disabling of the interrupt works, but there is just one afterwards that i cant get rid of.For now i just would like to know, if anyone has any idea if the title can be answered with yes. (And if there is a explanation why that is)I would have liked to try a minimal code, but its quite complicated and i am afraid the error can then not be reproduced. Timers are interconnected too.

Hello all, We are evaluate STM32H745 for one of our new products. Dual core feature of STM32H745 is something we would like to use. As a part of initial process, I was trying to debug both M4 and M7 cores simultaneusly.Following AN5286,  I was able to succesfully debug both core using STM32Cube IDE. But when I tried following in section 4, to use IAR workbench I got following error

Hello,I would like to use 2x AD7606 for simultaneous sampling of 8 channels, the samples shall be sent to the STM32H753 CPU that will perform some DSP calculations. This system is intended for 3-phase grid monitoring system.I preferred the SPI mode rather than the FMC mode because it uses less pins and ~5MHz SPI CLOCK is enought to collect the 8x samples every 40µs (Sampling frequency around 40KHz)The problem with that is that the CPU needs to start the DMA Rx on SPI lane for both AD7606 devices after receiving a falling edge on BUSY pin and send a chunk of data to the dedicated task : meaning that an IRQ shall be sent every 10µs which is quite a lot !I am thinking of configuring the BUSY pin as External event mode with falling edge detection, the dedicated DMA + SPI (with HW NSS) shall be triggered using this event and create another event upon complete reception that will trigger a MDMA in order to copy N samples to the DTCMRAM and raise an interrupt to

I am currently working on a board designed around the STM32H725RGV6 and have encountered issues with it being recognised by STM32CubeProgrammer as I get the message "target not found" when connecting it to a STLINK-v3-minie. With my previous experience using H7 or F7 MCUs, they get pretty warm even while idling which mine does not.VDD is 3.3V and supplied from a LDO regulator, TPS73633. With the board fully populated except the bluetooth module, RN4871, I have verified that the MCU is receiving 3.3V through the VDD pins.I have also checked that BOOT0 is pulled low and NRST is pulled high.2 of the 3 VCAP pins have 2.2uF caps placed nearby and the third is connected to the other 2.I have used a multimeter and continuity tested the majority of the pins to their adjacent pins and GND to check for shorts. Hi, I have an STM32303E-EVAL that I have been messing around with, but I also want to reset it to the demonstration functionality. I have downloaded the zip file for the demonstration firmware from the website, but I am not sure where to go from there. I tried to run the hex file in STM32CubeProgrammer, but that only made it ask for the sd card and didn't do anything further. Any help with what I need to do with the zip file would be appreciated.

Hello I am using : STM32L031G6U6.I am confused how programming the MCU works. I don't have let's say SWDIO and SWCLK pins declared in CubeIDE. Then how it works ? Why it works this way ? I read something that when I use NRST pin to reset manually then the pins GPIO are automatically assigned as SWD but I could read it anywhere in Reference Manual typing NRST. I only found how BOOT works which I also don't understand what do these modes mean like selecting boot area ... :  In my other PCB I only used SWDIO and SWCLK and GND and it was resetting the MCU without me using NRST pin. I'm starting to learn about low-level embedded development. My goal is to learn how I can write my own linker scripts and startup code. I also want to learn how to use raw register calls to do something useful. I want to use the NUCLEO-L011K4 board and tried reading through the reference manual to find register addresses and the expected values. For some reason, my minimal blinky (LED connected to PB13) app doesn't work. It flashes just fine, but the board does nothing after that. I am pretty sure (keep in mind: Still a newbie), that the registers are the right ones. However, I'm not so sure about the linker script. I have two questions regarding RM0440 Rev.8, Figure 195:In Figure 195, it shows that the roll-over events invert the push-pull logic. Hello,I've migrated an application from STM32L496VG to STM32U595VJ.Pin A11 is used as capture input TIM1_CH4.With U5 device the input on PA11 couldn't reach full level at 3.3V. I have the same behavior with 5 MCUs STM32U595VJT6 and PA11 is connected directly with an external comparator output.Is there any special new function with this pin PA11 (USB stuff) that has to be switched off on U5 series first other than L4 series (e.g. in option bytes)? Here the input level on PA11 (reach only half level 1.6V and doesn't trigger the capture input):STM32U595VJT6_PA11_NIO
