Hi.The cause of the issue being inquired about below might be due to tick precision, so I am making an additional posthttps://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-products/the-microcontroller-sometimes-cannot-receive-tcp-data/td-p/729099 In my system, the microcontroller and the counterpart device are sending and receiving TCP/UDP packets at a 20ms interval.The microcontroller uses osDelayUntil() and the counterpart uses ROS2's Timer to perform processing at 20ms intervals.However, when checking the tcpdump on the counterpart device,the interval between packets received from the microcontroller is slightly shorter than 20ms,and the reception time gradually becomes earlier than expected by 1ms, 2ms, and so on.(The pace increases by 1ms every 40s.)If the accuracy of the microcontr

Does anyone know where I can find STM's solder paste stencil recommendations for UFQFN devices?We are using STM32F051K6U6 however the datasheet only has recommendations for the BGA package of this device, not the QFN.We are getting shorts underneath these device and I wonder if the solder stencil is responsible.

Why are UDP packets on port 53600 sometimes sent and visible in Wireshark, but at other times they are not sent? What factors could influence the intermittent transmission of these packets? 

HalloI use STM32F779 and want to enter this device in Standby mode and wake up via Wake up pin (PA0). The problem is that everything only works one time correctly or it complete its loop first time just correctly. After the Reset, Microcontroller goes in Standby mode and stay till rise edge of wake up pin. Then it wakes up from Standby mode and again goes to standby mode. HelloI am currently working on a project needing UART via DMA, however when trying to transmit something via this UART nothing is received on the receiving end and the UART remains in HAL_UART_STATE_BUSY_TX.I am also making use of ARM TrustZone.USART1 is set to Non-Secure and linked to GPDMA1 Channel 3 in Standard Request mode (all default settings, source data address increment is enabled, memory to peripheral direction) also Non-Secure.Relevant interrupts and callbacks seem to not get triggered, however it is not clear to me why, I tested this via setting breakpoints in the relevant functions.From what I understand UART_InitCallbacksToDefault() should make it so HAL_UART_TxCpltCallback() is called when the relevant interrupt is triggered, but as mentioned above this simply does not occur so this makes me think I am simply missing some information.Board used: STM32H573I-DK

Hi,in AN2606 rev 64, I cannot find the SPI settings for STM32H563 bootloader, i e CPOL, CPHA etc. For the other MCU:s in this document, this information is provided.For example H72xxx comes with CPOL = CPHA = low.Using these settings, and a rather slow clock at 0.5 MHz, I send 0x5A, and get 0xA5 in return. This looks good, but the problem is that no matter what I send, I get 0xA5 in return.What am I missing here?  

Hi!The PWM signals are identical and work as  normal except when HAL_TIM_PWM_Stop (or HAL_TIM_PWM_Start) is called at duty 0. The Advanced timer work as expected and cause the output PWM to go low, while both PWM signals go low for the General timer. I've tried reading the RM0440 Reference manual sections "28 Advanced-control timers (TIM1/TIM8/TIM20)" and "30 General purpose timers (TIM15/TIM16/TIM17)", but has found no clear cause of this. Hi I use STM32H743XI and W25Q256 for my design.And I notice W25Q256 has two speed 133Mhz(W25Q256JV) and 104Mhz(W25Q256FV), currently I use W25Q256FV, since I only use this flash with memory map mode, is it necessary to replace with W25Q256JV? Will their performance vary greatly? W25Q256FV:W25Q256JV:

Hi,My customer wants to design a high speed ADC aquisition system with minimum 100 MSPS rate and 14-bit resolution.The external ADC devices like AD9258 and AD9268 have this capability, which we are proposing.Would it be possible to use a high speed STM device like STM32H753 to capture this data?Assuming I am getting samples are 10 ns rate(for 100 MSPS)?We want to read about 20k samples in one burst and then process this data offline.Currently, they have a FPGA based solution and are looking to move towards MCU based design.Any inputs would be helpful, thanks!~Kp

Hi,we would like to add live video playing/streaming to an STM32-based board we are designing that uses MIPI-DSI to drive a touch display, and we are at the stage of choosing the micro.Ideally it would stream from HDMI signal but we can use another interface if more suitable and/or lower cost.(Ethernet streaming I think is just a matter of having the Ethernet connection so that I assume is straight forward).The live video would be played on the touch display but in a window slightly smaller than the graphic area (to allow controls for other electronics to be places on the graphical area next to the video).Are there any STM32 that have perhaps some special dedicated hardware to allow video streaming (again from HDMI or other similar inputs) while preventing major core bottleneck/slow-down?If so, which micro can do that?Or which peripherals/HW of the STM32 is used to do that so we can select the right micro?Thank you. :)

I'm working on a custom board with a STM32H723ZG. I'm also using external sd ram part  IS42S16400J-6TL found here (https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/issi-integrated-silicon-solution-inc/IS42S16400J-6TL/2708625). I've followed the excellent sd ram tutorial here: https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus/how-to-set-up-the-fmc-peripheral-to-interface-with-the-sdram/ta-p/49457 which was how I was able to determine the values in the stm32 cube IDE. The FMC init generated function runs without error (MX_FMC_Init which calls HAL_SDRAM_Init). Hi,I am using STM32H725REV6 chip in our product. Based on my understanding, since this is 68pin version which doesn't have VREF+ pin, the VREF+ is internally connected to VDDA. If my understanding is correct, I would like to ask if we would like to use VDDA as reference voltage, how to configure the VREFBUF register to use VDDA as reference voltage. Thanks. Regards, Eric

We're bringing up yet another custom board with the STM32H735 as the core processor. Built the first one, handed it to the software guy, and a few minutes later he says it's broken. Won't program, won't go to DFU mode, nothing. "You must have zapped it by accident!" Grumble.....get out the hot air gun and swap the part. At least it's a QFN100 and not some BGA package. Fixed, dropped it on his desk. Go to lunch.Phone rings. "It's broken again. As soon as I downloaded code it died." Aaarrggghh! Back from lunch, steam off processor #2, install #3. This time, I'll make sure. Create a new IOC file, populate it with all the right pin settings, configure the peripherals, generate code in CubeMX, open project in CubeIDE. So far, so good. Add a couple lines to flash the debug blinkylight, hit download. Code downloads, processor goes away. No blinky. No nothin'. Vcore is at zero. HiI have implemented ADC1 on a DMA and verified its operation. I then implemented the ethernet stack and verified that it can be pinged. The issue I'm having is that the ADC DMA stops working once the ethernet stack is implemented. I believe the error might be within the memory assignment within the MPU and the DMA memory allocation. I've gone through quite a few forum posts but still have no success. Any assistance on how to configure these would be greatly appreciated. RegardsEzra

Hi   I am using a STM32L433 and have a digital input pin, which is checked on bootup and enables the USB if 3.3v is in the pin.  When working in debug mode, it always works, but when I switch to release mode , using stm32CubeIDE , it always reads 0v, and my optimization is None. I used a Nucleo F767ZI dev board to check and write firmware(The IC on the board is STM32F767ZIT6U with the other characters being AA 254 VQ Z on first line and TWN AA 341 on line 2),when I use HSI clock I am able to operate PD7, PG9, PG10, PG11, PG12 as an input or output GPIOBut on the custom developed board (the IC on the board is STM32F767ZIT6 with the other characters being AA108 VQ on the first line and TWN AA 334 on line two)In this custom developed board while I am able to Program and debug the board and I am able to use all other pins except PD7, PG9, PG10, PG11, PG121)1)The DC resistance of each of the above mentioned Pin and VCC(3V3) is infinite and same is with GND is also infinite2) When I configure any of these Pins as GPIO Output as PUSH PULL and low speed mode then I see when I set the GPIO I see as the ODR setting but when I measure the voltage on the connecter(nothin

We're running into a really weird situation with a bootloader that copies some code into ITCM.  The bootloader initializes various peripherals and clocks and then copies data from the QSPI flash to both the SRAM and to the ITCM memory.  Then we use the NVIC_SystemReset() call to fully reset everything (apparently there's an Errata that some things don't get properly de-initialized unless a full reset is called).  But we are running into a very strange situation whereby it looks like the last byte that was written into ITCM gets corrupted by the SystemReset call!  We've tried a few things like settng  the ITCM to not be cacheable and calling SCB_CleanDCache before doing the reset.  It always seems to be  the last byte written.  As a test, I used memset to zero-out an additional 35 bytes, and the problem happened at the last byte of the memset.  The value seems to be possibly related to some other ITCM contents (e.g. if I zero ou

HelloWe are using STM32H563VIT6 in our project. When the PCB was designed, our design team used PB13 and PB14 as TXD1 and TX_EN pins (from what I know, they were using CubeMX when designing the board). When I have started working on the board I was using Zephyr RTOS and noticed that `stm32h563vitx-pinctrl.dtsi` was missing those bindings. So I have modified it myself by mapping TXD1 and TX_EN into PB13 AF11 and PB14 AF11. Ethernet was working and I was able to both receive and transmit data.Now, recently I got back to this project, upgraded to newest Zephyr RTOS version (3.7.0) and to my surprise the device was not working. I can see that the networking stack is receiving data, and processing it correctly (ARP announcements are acknowledged) but there are problems with transmission. I can see that something is being output on the TXD1 and TX_EN is asserted high. LEDs on the ethernet port are blinking during transmission, but I cannot see any frames received on the other

Hey,Is it possible to create a seperate space on every microcontroller for a second bootloader and firmware location? To update the firmware live? Or is this only possible on specific series? A second firmware location to place the new firmware and to verify the firmware is compleet. The second bootloader should start the new firmware and even copy this to the current firmware. Is there an application note or guide for this?Kind regards,

Heyho,using all SAI blocks on H723 / H733 / H735 with stereo audio ADCs via DMA, working smoothly as long as both channels are used.Now I wanted to implement turning off single channels, and I thought I could do that with the SAI / DMA settings.I just found the MONO mode & bit and its limitations (RM0468 Rev 3, page 2304):So only slot 0 (channel 1 of stereo ADC, or in audio terms: LEFT channel) can be used. (This is terrible!)As far as I understand, the settings in register SLOTR stay the same as for stereo mode (NBSLOT = 1 and SLOTEN = 3).DMA buffer length is set to half the stereo length.Problem:I still see data of channel 2 in the DMA buffer, it's changing all the time: sometimes channel 1 data only, sometimes stereo data (with the usual channel multiplexing, samples: c1 c2 c1 c2 c1 ...).Anybody any ideas?Thanks in advance!
