Hi, I am trying to communicate via FDCAN with a board equipped with a STM32G0 by using this library https://github.com/owennewo/SimpleCAN I already tested it successfully with both STM32H743 and STM32H723 but I am having troubles with the G0  When I try to send a message from the G0 I get error code 200 back from the serial logs Does anyone have an idea of why is this happening?

Hi, I'm using a STM32F407VGTx, trying to use MQTT on this microcontroller.I first made a test program on a NUCLEO dev kit (also a F4 controller) and it worked.Now I get an error and it doesn't want to connect to my PC which is the broker. I have tried the following things:- I have made sure my firewall doesn't block port 1883 en 8883.- I can ping the controller.- I made an extra init flag to make sure that the init code runs first before trying to subscribe or connect to anything. I got the following error first: ERR_RTE = -4 which is a routing problem.But his has changed and now I get:Assertion "mqtt_sub_unsub: client != NULL" failed at line 1183 in ../Middlewares/Third_Party/LwIP/src/apps/mqtt/mqtt.c(so I'm not sure if the previous error is fixed) I'm not immediately sure what the problem can be. I have a USB port on the board on which I plan to connect a USB bluetooth dongle for bluetooth connectivity.Are there any Development boards and example codes available on STM through which the above can be achieved. Please suggest any standard USB bluetooth dongles too which can be usedThanks Anuj   

Posted on December 06, 2017 at 18:06Hello,I'm using STM32cubemx and I have created a project using UART in 9-bit configuration. The code is generated and I can find the 'HAL_UART_Transmit' function but the pData parameter is a 8-bit pointer:HAL_StatusTypeDef HAL_UART_Transmit(UART_HandleTypeDef *huart, uint8_t *pData, uint16_t Size, uint32_t Timeout)pData should be a 16-bit parameter. I cannot understand how can I send a 9-bit data with this function. Is it a bug in STM32CubeMX?ThanksIBRA

Hi,  I'm attempting to use UART3 on a STM32L431CC to transmit 9 bit data, I've created the following code after reading https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-products/9-bit-uart-transmission-stm32-cubemx-hal-driver/m-p/327138 With the code below I am indeed able to transmit the correct data however it sends every other request, however if I change the variable type to be "uint8_t byte" the data (wrong) is sent at every request. To implement a "bridge" devise between two independent CAN buses, the STM32F105R8 chip was chosen. From the specifications it follows that it has 2 CAN buses, but going deeper into it I realized that they share a lot of resources among themselves.could you help me clarify the following:1. can this chip, from a software/hardware point of view, support 2 CAN buses operating at different speeds CAN1=250kbps and CAN2=500kbps for example?2. the delay in sending messages from CAN1 to CAN2 is critical for this device, could someone let me know if problems can arise with this?3. are there any restrictions on the maximum number of TX/RX messages (CAN_IDs) for two buses? As far as I understand, CAN filters are shared to CAN1 and CAN2... Thanks in advance everyone for your help!

Hello,I am dealing with fixed-point arithmetic calculations on STM32G0.To avoid integer overflow risks I have scaled properly all the values involved in calculations, but a mistake can be always possible...On Texas Instruments DSPs, I have the possibility to switch the integer overflow mode, from wrap to saturate, thanks to a couple of intrinsic instructions.Is there such a possibility also on Cortex processors (and in particular on Cortex M0+)?Thank you,Carlo

Hi,I've ran into an issue which is about start address of an application. I'm using an own bootloader to switch between two different applications. For the application I changed the start address in FLASH.id file to 0x08040000. That works perfectly fine.My problem occurs when I try to jump to the second application at 0x080a0000. It works too but the first application at 0x08040000 will be ran again.I figured out that it is because of the start address which is in both cases the same, 0x08040000. So probably the bootloader jumps to reset vector of 0x080a0000 and from there it jumps back to 0x08040000. If I change the start addres of the second application to 0x080a0000 everything works fine and I can jump from one to the other.Is there any way to provide an offset or so to keep the second application running in 0x080a0000 even if their start address is 0x08040000?I'd like to keep only two parts of the flash for the applications

Posted on August 14, 2012 at 19:43Hi All,   Has anyone had problems with corrupting their flash programming when power cycling their STM32F4xx board? (or any other STM32 board for that matter) I'm able to use the boot-loader to successfully flash code to an STM32F407 board and use it through several resets.  Occasionally when I turn off power to the board, it fails to boot back up, arguably due to corrupted flash programming. Is there any special voltage power-down sequences I need to follow to prevent affecting the internal flash memory at power-down?  Are there any pins I could control the voltage on to prevent flash programming from being affected during an unexpected power-down event? I'm not writing any flash sectors during operation, so as long as I can use the boot-loader to reflash the system, I'm happy to lock down all flash sectors in any way possible.

Hello:  This is weird problem. We have a STM32L496 system that handles multiple I2C devices through its three I2C buses. The I2C#1 (1MHz) has 10 NXP devices, #2 (400kHz) has 4 TI TMP117 chips, and #3 (400kHz) miscellaneous devices including other TI devices. They all use the same sub-functions to do basic I2C reading and writing (LL driver based polling).The problem is with the TMP117 reading on I2C #2. It occasionally get wrong temperatures. We first thought it was from TI TMP117 chip. But the scope showed the correct and clean waveforms. We have never observed the error if we slow down the I2C#2 speed to 100kHz, We have never seen the similar reading problem on other I2C buses and devices that run with the same I2C device drivers.All the setup and configuration of all I2C buses are all default with STM32CubeIDE (v1.14.1). Any help is very much appreciated.    &

I am using STM32F4 MCU in USB device MSC mode with data stored on SD card. I have also standard 16X2 LCD & Membrane keypad connected to MCU I want to make interface where once USB device is connected to laptop, the data is showed on laptop after entering PIN on LCD.Please suggest where in USB device code, I can put my loop for my pin entering.

Dear all,I am having some issues with precision of floating point calculations with STM32L431CBT6.As one can see that when I do floating point calculation I am getting 1.23000002 instead of 1.23.Can anyone suggest more efficient and accurate way to do this kind of calculation. I'm looking for a simple solution to update firmware on my application developed on a STM32L476, with the minimum effort.As far as I understood this chip already has a boot on it that allows to get data via UART1 and a proprietary protocol from STM.I want to download my new firmware on one of the two banks available while the firmware is running on the other bank. I was planning to have a part of my application dedicated to get data via RS485, write it on the second bank, verify it and then reboot.Is the boot from STM able to make the bank switch? If the answer is yes, is there something that I overlooked with my idea?Then of course I have to consider the case when the process does not go well and I may found myself without a valid application: do I need to write some sort of user code in the boot to recover or the boot itself is already all I need to download a new fir

Posted on December 13, 2017 at 17:32   In Cortex-M3, M4, etc, we can just check the DEBUGEN bit in DHCSR (the Debug Halting Control and Status Register) http://infocenter.arm.com/help/index.jsp?topic=/com.arm.doc.ddi0337e/CEGCJAHJ.htmlBut in Cortex-M0, that register is not accessible to the user code. :(So - is there any other way on an STM32L0 to detect when the debugger is connected? #stm32l0 #debug

I'm working on emulating multiple USB devices using an STM32F4xx microcontroller. My goal is to dynamically change the USB controller's address at each SOF to cover the addresses of all my devices. However, I've encountered an issue: when I read the address from the hpcd_OTG structure, from hUsbDeviceFS and the DAD field, it differs from the address shown in Wireshark. Additionally, when I attempt to change the address, I don't receive any requests. The only way I can receive USB packets intended for that address is by resetting the address to 0. Any insights on why this might be happening?I am using "(void)USBD_LL_SetUSBAddress(pdev, dev_addr);" to set the address in the DCFG register and DAD fields.I have seen the Wrong software-read OTG_FS_DCFG register values erratum but the real problem is that only address 0 work.

Hi,We are using STM32L452CEU6 with 48QFPN package and trying implement sleep mode 2 inside Azure rtos threadx. But the device is not entering stop mode even after calling the HAL_PWREx_EnterSTOP2Mode(). But it works fine if I call it before calling MX_ThreadX_Init(). Could anyone can help to find out the issue.

In STM32H503 USB device mode, I found that SOF interrupts are periodically lost, SOF interrupts trigger normally in about 300ms,then SOF interrupts does not trigger in the next 300ms,and so on, if ESOF interrupt are enabled, ESOF interrupt will trigger periodcally, I have checkd usb bus with logic analyzer, and the SOF signal always appers within 1ms ,there is no SUSPEND or RESET signal, What's wrong?

I am trying to design my own microcontroller and I am following this video  here the guy is using the ams1117 as his linear regulator which has a current output of 1 A, wouldn't this fry the MCU? I read the datasheet for the stm32f405 and in the min/max section it is said that Total current into VDD power lines should be 240mA. I am also looking into using the stm32u5 series the data sheet in that case also says Total current into VDD power lines should be 200mA.

Hello,I am designing some hardware with the STM32H523.I have a rechargeable ML-Lithium Coin battery directly connected to the VBAT pin of the controller. The battery is supposed to power the RTC when there is no VDD. I would like to use the internal charging mechanism to charge the battery when VDD is present.In AN5711, I came across the following caution:I am a bit concerned about this current injection. If it is too high, the battery may get damaged. The recommendation is to "connect an external low-drop diode between this power supply and the VBAT pin."I understand this as placing a low-drop diode between my battery and the VBAT pin. But wh
