Hello all-Working with the SPI peripheral on the STM32F411VET6, we need to connect to a device that sadly requires the CS line to toggle with every byte sent.  Just about every example code runs along the logic of "write to the SPI data register and wait for TXE or BSY to change status".  Here's one such from hackaday dot com : In order to send bytes to a slave we thus follow this sequence after pulling the target’s SS line low: Wait for SPI_SR_TXE (status register: transmit register empty) to become true. Write data (8-16 bits) into SPI_DR. Repeat from (1) if more data has to be written. Wait for SPI_SR_TXE to become true again. Wait for SPI_SR_BSY (status register: bus busy) to become false. So the problem we're having is that after a write to the data register is done and a looping check made on either TXE or BSY, the chip select line is getting toggled before the 8th c

Hello,I need to drive some power mosfets (STP55NF06) from open drain outputs.The gate and mcu output will be connected to a pull up resistor to 12VAre the TT and FT pin voltage limits applicable when used in open drain mode?If yes, I will amplify the 3V of a push pull output.Else, it will reduce the design size. Thanks for your reply 

I’m using CubeIDE + STM32G4 to configure DMA transfers and I’m a bit confused by the interrupt code it generates.  Configuring DMA transfers on TIM8 defaults 'DMA1 Channel1 global interrupt' to enabled and generates a DMA1_Channel1_IRQ_Handler function. The point of using DMA is to avoid using interrupt code, so I’m hoping this is unnecessary bloat. How much of this code has to exist? I ran some tests on the how the DMA interrupt functions and I see that it triggers when TIM8 receives a reset signal via ITR9 triggered by TIM20 CH1 output compare. I’m not sure how I deduce\configure what events trigger the DMA1 global interrupt. (Ideally I won’t even have one.) Where in the reference manual could I have read to find out that resetting TIM8 like this would activate the DMA interrupt?

Hi, i want to connect two joysticks and some push buttons to my STM32F103C8T6 and make something like a Playstation controller, using USB HID to make my PC recognise it as a JOYSTICK Gamepad and then i can like play fifa with it or something.I saw a lot of tutorials on how to make STM32  act as a USB HID device but it all was about Keyboard or a Mouse and i want to know what to edit exactly in their code to make a joystick Gamepad interfacing.How to connect the two joysticks and push buttons is a relatively easy jop to do and there's alot of tutorials about it on YouTube, my main concern is How to interfcase it as a JOYSTICK Gamepad.any one who can send me a video link or some Step-by-Step tutorial on how to do it will be greatly helping meThanks.

Hi,I need a DMA setup for 4 separate UARTs in an STM32G473 controller. The idea is to always be able to receive data through rxDMA, and only invoke txDMA when sending data. The data that I receive changes in size, is between 20 and 300 bytes, starts with a start character, and stops with 2 CRC bytes. Considering this, I think the best way to go is using `HAL_UARTEx_ReceiveToIdle_DMA` and `HAL_UARTEx_RxEventCallback` as IDLE callback. Correct me if I'm wrong.I wonder if I always need to execute `HAL_UARTEx_ReceiveToIdle_DMA` after I process the data? Or do I use `HAL_UARTEx_ReceiveToIdle_IT`?I also noticed that `HAL_UARTEx_RxEventCallback` stops working after I receive a `HAL_UART_TxCpltCallback`. Are these interrupts linked to each other?Do I need to use `HAL_UARTEx_ReceiveToIdle_IT` or `HAL_UARTEx_ReceiveToIdle_DMA` at the end of HAL_UART_TxCpltCallback to enable reception again?I think it's odd that receiver callback interrupts are disabled after

Hello!  My project is almost finished, but I had a little problem. On the dashboard, I can optionally read the speed and coolanz water temperature from the can bus or with sensors (vr sensor, ntc). In the case of the can bus, the display works properly.  If input capture it is used, the image breaks up at intervals.  What could be the problem, where should I look for the error? Is the input capture callback long?   It would certainly be good with dma, but I couldn't do it with it, none of the input capture dma example programs work.  The devices used: stm32h753, qspi, sdram, ltdc rgb888Here is the video with the fail:Ltdc fail  Thank you if someone can help!

Hello. I have few questions on UART half-duplex single-wire peripheral. I'm using stm32f303k8.In RM it states that TX and RX are internaly connected and TX is low (or whatever "released" can mean) when it's not transmitting. This means that when no transmission occurs, since TX is in output mode, either open drain or push-pull, it should short the line to ground through the internall connection and "released" NMOS transistor. Is that true?I'd like to know more on what HAL_HalfDuplex_EnableTransmitter() and HAL_HalfDuplex_EnableReceiver() do, as it's hard to get under the hood on jus

I am programming my custom board with STM32G491CEU6 and STM32CubeMX 6.5.0.The code is generated with STM32Cube_FW_G4 v1.5.1 firmware.Steps to reproduce:Select 'access to MCU selector' after opening STM32CubeMX.Select STM32G491CEU6 and create the project.In System Core->SYS:Set Debug to Serial WireSet Timebase Source to anything other than SysTick.Generate the code. Build and flash.I discovered the problem after pressing pause during debugging and it shows me that the code is stuck at HAL_NVIC_EnableIRQ() called by HAL_InitTick() which is called by HAL_Init().Note that this problem only happens when the Timebase Source is modified. Another problem arises when Timebase Source is set to SysTick: HAL_Delay() stalls the code forever since HAL_GetTick() always return 0.I think I must have missed something trivial in my setup. What am I missing?I

This including:- Reinstalled the lastest STM32CubeProgrammer and try the ST-LinkUpgrade- Uninstall and Reinstall all the driver to the lastest version - Manually download the newest STLinkUpgrade 3.15.6- Seperate the ST-Link with the Board by disconnected the CN2 pins and try using STLinkUpgrade alone.- Use direct USB connection.  

Hello,I am hoping i can be pointed in the right direction.I would like to create, using an STM32H7, a device that has an ethernet port. The idea is simply to go to various sites and scrape info for processing later on. I guess this will require TCP/IP.So i have found some examples online of this to help me and get started. However they seem to make little sense to me since i dont use and refuse to use CubeMX. I would rather understand what i am writing rather than have so much abstraction it takes forever to understand the code.Ideally not having to use RTOS would be good, mostly because i dont understand them yet and i feel it just adds more complexity to what i am doing.Ideally i would have liked to use the H7 internal MAC and an external PHY. Then i can attempt to code in the stack, which i know would be quite difficult and time consuming. But it does allow me to do software update fixes.This would be preferre

Hey, just wondering if you could help with the following? We are using a package called I-CUBE-USBD-Composite for combining two USB classes. We use CDC class for serial communication and HID class for MIDI. We change the descriptor for custom HID class to MIDI descriptor to get our device to be detected as MIDI device. When i use mouse HID and CDC, i am able to get it working. But the problem with mouse HID is it doesn't allow MIDI receive. But when i use custom HID both CDC and MIDI is not working. The device is not getting detected as any device.Any ideas or resources would be a big help. Thanks, 

Hello,I was trying to implement extended calibration for ADC1 on my STM32U575 according to RM0456 Rev 5.  I have a revision ID 0x3001 chip which should support extended calibration.  The chip would hang very badly (can no longer connect with debug probe!) after step 6 ("Set the LATCH_COEF bit").  I took a look at the HAL code in stm32u5xx_hal_adc_ex.c  and it is doing a few things differently:Using DMB instructions between setting CALINDEX and CALFACT and between setting CALFACT and setting LATCH_COEF.Preserving the low-order 8 bits of CALFACT when writing 0x03021100 to the register.When I changed my code to do those two things the ADC now completes calibration properly and doesn't hang my debug connection.It woul

Hi There,While reading the data from I2C, I see that the master is missing to send NACK.Some fixed was done in https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/STM32CubeF4/issues/139 but those fixes are there in the code. But still sometime i see that NACK not being send out and slave pull the SDA line to low.  Is there any fix on this one?

This is ok but how can I prevent this memory area from being erased when I reprogram the STM32L4xx? Heads up about a problem we discovered, and I think solved.  We're using the built-in STM32L452 bootloader per AN3154 to do in-system firmware updates over CAN bus from an Android host.  We started with the can-prog Python utility (https://github.com/marcinbor85/can-prog), but rewrote it in Java.  The software worked fine, except for consistently failing a readback verification, which always showed a four-byte mismatch at the same location near (but not at) the end of the programmed image.I'll skip to the solution and avoid boring you with all the trial-and-error: The can-prog utility reads the firmware to be programmed from a .hex file, and the problem occurred wherever there was a short (4 bytes) line of data in the .hex file, like these::1017B0006566002B2D00303000785800412D4661C1

I successfully transferred the data in UDP, Now I try to send the data using TCP client method.  In the .ioc configuration file, I followed the below setup 1. Connectivity -> ETH -> RMII mode. 2. Hello,I had two STM32 boards connected to the PC, and I ran the regression.sh program from SBSFU to configure one of them. However, the second board, which also had the SBSFU application installed, was configured as well. Now, the second board cannot connect to STM32CubeProgrammer. If you press the reset button, it connects momentarily, but once you release it, the connection is lost. Any help to revive the board?when the reset is not pressed

Hello,I am implementing a Modbus Master on a STM32F722. First, transmissions and receptions were managed through Rx/Tx interrupts. But as I got a lot of overrrun errors while getting my slave's responses, I decided to transfer received packet through DMA to my Rx buffer to avoid microcontroller's overuse. As my board is a modbus master, I use RTOR to generate an interrupt when slave finished its transfer, as adviced in STM32F7's reference manual.
