Hello,Is it recommended to implement an ESD protection on SWD lines of STM32L011D3/D4 mCU? I went through "Getting started with STM32L0xx hardware development" document and there is a Figure 15 which suggests to connect SWD lines direct to programming connector without any protections. I'm just thinking that some protection would be good, like 47R - 100R resistors on the lines with 3.3 V (or 5 V ?) Vrwm of ESD diodes while programmer would not be connected to the board?Many thanks.

Hello all,This is regarding the the problem after recent development from 18MHz to 22.8 MHz of operational speed of STM as slave operating with DMA transfer and SPI mode 01. Although the data sheet suggest maximum achievable speed of 31 MHz - I made it up to 22.8 MHz, beyond which data corruption occurs. As per my recent findings there is a persistent lag between the SCK and MISO signal around 8.8 -10.4 ns. I tested the SPI communication with and without hardware NSS, also with only SPI communication shutting of other operations but this delay is still there. Hi,I'm planning to use STM32H562ZI as I3C controller with an I3C v1.0 compatible Target endpoint. Since STM32 I3C IP supports I3C v1.1.1, will there be any potential issues on RSTDAA, ENTDAA, I3C Private Write, I3C Private Read or other electrical parameters with v1.0 ? Though I do not see any limitation based on v1.0 & v1.1.1 specifications (Apart from IBI mandatory byte and new CCCs), I'd like to hear from the community. Appreciate the help.Thanks,Srinath

Ive been trying to get active passthrough between my adc and dac from pa1 and pa0 respectively. Ive confirmed all my functions are being called but i just cant seem to get any value loaded into my DAC. if i give it a value manually, i get the correct value at the pin. I am putting a 2.6 VDC source at my adc pin but have failed to get anything out. I have included my main.c file. I am using the nucleo-l476rg board

Hello team,Generally , Reset pin by default status is Logic High.But in AN4206 ( Page 31) , NRST pin is not Connected to 3.3V , it is left Floating with Capacitor.Is that Okay ? My device is STM32F303.Regards,

Hi, I´m reading the following document : "an4879-introduction-to-usb-hardware-and-pcb-guidelines-using-stm32-mcus-stmicroelectronics" to implement USB in my application. In section 2.6.1 Simple Resistor Divider it says "This solution works well as long as GPIO maximum operating conditions are >= VDD+ 3.6 V" this must be meet to use the following voltage dividider I´m going to use PA9 pin, in the datasheet of my MCU STM32L4P5RGT6 it states this pin is 5V tolerant As I understood this pin doesnt meet the condiciton mentioned before because my VDD=3.3V and so GPIO maximum operatin

Apologies for the ignorance, I'm a beginner with STM32 and I purchased the STM32C071K8T6 MCU since it has built-in USB capabilities. I am trying to implement USB CDC, but I'm becoming quite confused with all the USBX and ThreadX stuff I have to enable. Currently, just through configuration of the IOC file, I can get the device to appear in my PC device manager, but it is not enumerated (device descriptor request failed). I have not found many other resources describing in simple terms how I can just get a basic virtual com device up and running, especially for the C0 series. Could anybody provide a basic minimum working example to have the device enumerated? Thank you.

I think it is quite natural to operate the STM32L433 at 80 MHz generated from HSI16, but is this guaranteed to be accurate?When creating 80 MHz from HSI16 in STM32CubeMX, no error occurs, but when inputting 16.08 MHz to HSE in the same way, an error message is displayed (attached files).According to Datasheet 6.3.8, the maximum frequency of HSI16 is 16.08 MHz. Therefore, if HSI16 is multiplied by 20 using a PLL and then divided by 4, the result is 80.4 MHz, which slightly exceeds 80 MHz. Considering temperature and voltage changes, the frequency may drift up to approximately 81.3MHz.According to Section 6.3.1, the maximum frequency for fHCLK is 80MHz.Does this mean that operation is not guaranteed since it exceeds the specified limits?Thank you in advance.Ken

I have a custom board with an STM32C071K8T6, and I am trying to use it for its USB CDC capabilities.I have designed my circuit to use an ABM3B-8.000MHZ-B2-T ceramic crystal resonator. In its specs, this crystal has a load capacitance of 18 pF, so I used the formula C_L = 2(18pF - 5pF) = 26 pF to select the load capacitor values (C6 and C7 in my schematic). However, I do not see any signal on the oscilloscope when probing OSCX_IN and OSC_OUT. At first I thought I had overheated the crystal during soldering, but I made sure to use hot air at 260 C as recommended in the specs.I have an LED connected to PB0 that I can blink with a simple program when the crystal is connected but it will not work if disconnected. This leads me to believe that the crystal is working in some sense? But when I set up USB and CDC, I see nothing happen at all within the device manager. Will the MCU default to the internal clock if current can be passed through the crystal but there is no oscilla

Hello! everyone.I use the stm32 Nucleo-L476RG to read the total size of USB flash drive and external hard drives, respectively. It works with USB flash drives, but not with external hard drives. The error message from STM32 isFR_DISK_ERR (A hard error occurred in the low level disk I/O layer ) when I try to mount the external hard drives.The wiring diagram is followingPlease give me some suggestions to fix this issue. Hello everyone,I have been trying to open communications via I2C between the STM32G484RET6 and a MCP47FXDX8 DAC using the STM32CubeIDE toolchain.However, as I struggled with that so much I took a step back and just tried to read the I2C data from a Nucleo-G474RE (thinking there was an issue with my aux circuitry for the RET6 surfboard). It seemed I was still not able to get anything on the logic analyzer (Analog Discovery Studio) out of the SDA & SCL lines.I have the SDA & SCL lines pulled high (3.3V) using 5k resistors. The code below shows what I have been trying.The ret stats there is a "HAL_ERROR"

I want to use the 32-pin package of STM32L412 (STM32L412KBU3) as a USB device, using I2C to connect to a few sensors.If I use HSE clock on pin PA0, any suggestion as to a suitable crystal & caps?Could I use LSE instead, would this be accurate enough for reliable USB?Is the internal HSI clock accurate enough for USB? Dear ST Community,I am using the STM32H573's SDMMC interface to communicate with a soft eMMC device implemented in FPGA:1.8V I/ODDR==0 modeCLKDIV>0.I'm setting up the timing constraints for the FPGA's CMD input versus the CK input and I have a query about the SDMMC interface timing.In the datasheet, Table 123 defines the tov and toh parameters. In which mode are these parameters valid? CLKDIV>0 and NEGEDGE==0?How would NEGEDGE==1 change tov and toh? Based on the diagrams of figure 164, I believe the tov and toh would increase by 1/2 the clock period. Is that correct?Thank you. Ben

Hello,I am using the STM32F767ZI MCU and was wondering if it is possible to check if a debugger is connected or not and if SWV is enabled, to avoid the UN-necessary looping when a printf is encountered.These are my requirements:Check if the user has connected a debuggerCheck if the user has enabled ITM trace from the debugger and connected to the correct port.(Port 0 in this case)If both points 1 & 2 are not done, avoid the looping when a printf is encountered.So when printf is called it invokes the _write function.
