STM32 MCUs Software development tools

I want to use the rsa feature of mbedtls but when I uncomment #define MBEDTLS_RSA_C in the mbedtls_config file it is showing undefined reference to mbedtls_rsa_get_len, mbedtls_rsa_check_pub_priv, mbedtls_rsa_init, mbedtls_rsa_free and mbedtls_rsa_import_raw.

Today, while using the CubeMX product, I upgraded to version 6.15.0 (previously 6.14.1). After upgrade, the CMake step when generating project code failed. Even when generating an empty project, CMake still did not succeed. Updating the flash software of a STM32F070CB microcontroller did not work:The STM32 is in BOOTLOADER mode and accessed from a Linux/Ubuntu PC using USB.STM32_Programmer_CLI (V2.20.0) does not work if the STM32 is connected directly to the USB port of the Linux-PC, but it does work if a simple USB2-hub is inserted between the PC's USB port and the STM32 USB port.In the non-working case the STM32_Programmer_CLI outputs this:-------------------------------------------------------------------STM32CubeProgrammer v2.20.0 ------------------------------------------------------------------- USB speed : Full Speed (12MBit/s)Manuf. Comparing CMake projects with STM32CubeIDE projects shows many unused libraries added as source for CMake project:\Drivers\CMSIS\DSP (44.7MiB)\Drivers\CMSIS\Core (1.8MiB)\Drivers\CMSIS\NN (1.5MiB)\Drivers\CMSIS\RTOS2 (112.KiB)\Drivers\CMSIS\RTOS (40.0KiB)Total size of these extra unused files is 48.1MiB. I think this is because initially I selected "Copy all used libraries into the project folder" (I think this is the default option). But when I check "Copy only necessary library files" they won't be removed when regenerating. Despite "Delete previously generated files when not regenerating" being checked.If I delete them and generate again then they won't be added again and build works fine. So they clearly are not needed.I'm using the latest version: STM32CubeMX V6.15.0 

Same problem here (Cube 6.15.0, Keil uVision  Although HAL is selected, Cube installed both HAL and LL files for ADC and some other peripherals by mistake.  which results in a compile error ../Drivers/STM32F4xx_HAL_Driver/Src/stm32f4xx_ll_adc.c(25): error: 'stm32_assert.h' file not found To get rid of this, I excluded the unnecessary file in the project as shown above and the error is gone. Edit: Moved from CUBE MX with Keil 5.39 Full Assert bug in stm32l0xx DFP

Hello, I am starting my project with CubeMX and CubeIDE right now and I am encountering massive time issues.For example it took almost 25 minutes to go from the IOC file to the generated code (throuh the autogenerating functionnality). It also took 3 minutes and 45 seconds to build a basically empty program (except for the inits).I'm running on CubeIDE v1.19 and CubeMX v6.15.My laptop is Windows 11, I have 32 GB RAM, 13th Gen intel Core i7-13700H.If you guys have any advice on how to work around it that would be great. Thank you very much !

I guess this is a GCC question, not specific to CubeIDE, but perhaps someone here knows? Is there a way to make GCC report all the appearances of the undeclared identifier - not just the first?I would find this more useful - rather than having to do a separate search to see if there are any other occurrences.eg, It's not uncommon that I make the same spelling mistake in multiple places; or make a spelling mistake in the declaration, but spell all the references correctly; etc, ... Googling hasn't helped me - it's just swamped by people explaining what "undeclared identifier" means.I know what "undeclared identifier" means.

Hey everyone, this is my first post here on this forum. I'm working with an STM32H723VET6 on the VSCode environment with CMAKE, and i'm coming across a peculiar issue; with a breakpoint and even a GPIO toggle on the HAL_ADC_ConvCpltCallback function, neither are ever seen to call it. I am just using ADC1 to scan convert across 4 channels via DMA with timer automation. I have no MPU or cache enabled whatsoever either. Very importantly, I have tried something very similar to this in CubeIDE with no issue. CubeMX here is generating code to my local project and using the Cube CLT via VSCode to build and debug my code, it works without issue until I start to mess with bits of ADC HAL code. I've followed this great guide (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_K3GvQkyarg), and I've attached screenshots of peripheral configuration: My APB1 Timer bus is being run at 264MHz and my ADCs are being fed 150MHz clock. Hi , I am using STM32CubeIDE version 1.17.0 & I am getting "Failed to parse WMIC output" in the error log and It is not stopping even when the kit is connected. Attaching screenshot. 

If I have a bootloader that resides at 0x8000000 and the main program starts at 0x8008000 I can load it with the debugger and all is fine. I can run it in standa alone mode with the bootloader jumping to it as well. However, if I try to restart and rerun the program with the debugger it doesn't work and I have to reprogram. Is there a way to set up the debugger so that I don't have reprogram each time please? FWIW doing this on a L476.Thanks!

Upon launching STM32 CubeProgrammer today, I encountered this dialog:In case the image doesn't show, the text reads:The server connection is not established.The network connection is required to download updates.Please check your Proxy Settings.This thread refers to the same error and is marked "Solved" but the solved problem is actually a different error, described in the same thread.This message does not interfere with programming, but I'd sure like it to go away.

For a project based on the STM32U585 I use the MDF in a specific configuration.Filter 0: receives input from SIT0Filter 1 receives input from SIT3Filter 3 receives input from SIT0So three filters are used and only two serial input streams. Serial input stream 1 is not needed and I cannot configure it since the pin of this serial input is used for another function.It appears that when for a filter a serial input is disabled, the code generation is wrong.The configuration for filter 1 is shown below:As said, for filter 1 the serial interface is disabled since this filter is configured to receive its data from serial input stream 3, this is ok.However, the code generated for MX_MDF1_Init does not specify the configuration setting to tell filter 1 to use stream 3. I'm using CMake presets to setup a bunch of variables (ccache launcher, build type, toolchainfile, binaryDir). My binaryDir is outside of source tree:"${sourceParentDir}/build/${sourceDirName}/${presetName}"And vscode configure fails to find arm-none-eabi-gcc, it seems that the process seeks the .settings/bundles.store.json to find the correct gnu-tools-for-stm32 but it fails since it look up cmake binary dir instead of cmake source dir. Copying my .settings directory does fix it, but I have multiple projects lying on the same place and I don't want to mix their settings. Is this an intended behavior or should the .settings files be searched in source dir instead ? Thanks

I'm using CMake for building the project.I encountered a few issues:printf doesn't print anything to the serial monitor, so I switched to using HAL_UART_Transmit.When I try to print a float using sprintf(msg, "value: %f\n", var);, it doesn’t work. The output just skips the float value (e.g., "value: \n").After some research, I found out I need to add "-u _printf_float" to the linker flags to enable float formatting support with printf and sprintf.However, I'm new to CMake and I couldn’t figure out which CMake file I need to modify in the project folder to add this flag.I'd really appreciate it if someone could guide me:Where exactly should I add the "-u _printf_float" flag?Is there anything else I should do to make printf work properly over UART?Thanks in advance for your help.

I created a Boot/App/ExtMemLoader project for my NUCLEO-H7S3L8 via the STM32CubeMX for STM32CubeIDE, and ran into issues when running the application code from the external NOR Flash chip on the NUCLEO board (U18, P/N MX25UW25645GXDI00 on the schematic).  The Boot and ExtMemLoader applications run just fine.  However, the App would not run with the default config generated in STM32CubeMX.  Screenshot here:After changing the FifoThresholdByte to `1`, setting the size to 256Mbit, and reducing the XSPI clock to 180MHz, I was able to get the application to run.  I probably should double-check which of these settings are necessary.  Although I can now have it execute the Application from the external FLASH, I am now running into issues when setting breakpoints and debugging the application.  The debugger stops responding entirely, and I have to kill the GDB instances in order to recover.I wonder if something in the XSPI config is still off. We are migrating to a custom board and controller. Looking at the IOC generated by the Motor Control Workbench, there are some mystery variables that show up in the timer and we cannot track down where they are defined. See the attached snapshot and highlighted areas.Where are these defined? What is HTMIN?

MCU used : STM32H753ZITx LQFP144CubeMx version : 6.13.0Situtation: I have a IOC file with some configurations on ADC1, like "Left Bit Shift" set to "4 bits shift" and "Conversion Data Management" to "DMA One Shot Mode".Those modifications are not translated into the generation ADC init in main.cI need to edit this by myself by callingADC_REG_InitStruct.DataTransferMode = LL_ADC_REG_DMA_TRANSFER_LIMITED;ADC_InitStruct.LeftBitShift = LL_ADC_LEFT_BIT_SHIFT_4;

When I setup my STM32CubeProject the NUCLEO-U5A5ZJ-Q  does not show up as option. No U5 devices show up. Is there a pack or something else I need to install?Thanks
