GNSS positioning

Dear ST Team,After successfully setting Teseo-VIC3DA module, we can get message 3 digital axes accelerometer($PSTMDRSENMSG,30) and message 3 digital axes gyroscopes($PSTMDRSENMSG,31) which are returned from Teseo-VIC3DA HW at 15Hz speed. However, 3 raw data raw_x, raw_y, raw_z are unstable eventhough Teseo-VIC3DA is standstill.For more details, please help to refer to 2 attached logs: PSTMDRSENMSG_30.log and PSTMDRSENMSG_31.logOur question here is: why can we not get stable raw value? Do we miss any setting for getting such stable value? Please kindly help to support. Dear St's engineers,I am encountering an issue with the GNSS TESEO VIC3DA module regarding the inability to enable the PSTMDRCAL message output. I have tried the command $PSTMSETPAR,1228,0x800000,1*4F (as described in the CDB table 228, which is used to enable three messages: PSTMDRGPS, PSTMDRCAL, PSTMDRSINT), but as a result, only PSTMDRGPS is being output.

Since STA8135G is a triple-frequency GNSS chip, its hardware should have the capability to decode the E6 HAS message. However, I can't find related message from its RTCM output. I have searched the web and was informed that it can be supported by upgrading to certain firmware, named Measurement Engine (ME) Firmware. Can anyone help to tell me where I can find the suitable firmware, and whether I can do the upgrading and make my chip a more precise one?

I'm looking at using the Teseo modules in a range of RC boats but would like some final confirmation of the RF front end to make sure I am not doing anything wrong.  For the LIV4F I have boiled it down to this setup, with the understanding that the 4F can drive active antennas directly (for external use), and for passive there is an onboard LNA that needs a blocking cap (for mounting on the same PCB).  Thanks for any help! For the LIV3F(L) I am looking at exclusively active antennas (given the lack of on board LNA). From the RF front end point of view does this make the 3F and 3FL pin compatible?Is this the correct setup for both onboard and offboard antennas?Only the offboard has a current limit on the assumption that helps save the RF front end when there is no antenna fitted, is that correct?Are there any recommended part numbers for the inductor/capacitor bias?Do I need a saw tooth filter on the RF input?Why are the Liv4f's seemingly always out of stock?&nb

I'm looking for ST's GNSS components that I can build a GNSS receiver which can give offline high accuracy. To do this I need to do extra DSP between front end and baseband processor. What RF front ends are actively being produced that gives down-converted IF analog or digital outputs? 

Hi everyone,I am having trouble with the Teoseo VIC3DA GNSS module:My project is using the Teoseo VIC3DA to obtain information about GPS, gyroscope, and accelerometer, but in the default mode, I cannot see any data from the gyroscope or accelerometer. Hello,We are working with a Teseo VIC3DA and would need more clarification about the IRQ pin. I could not find anything clear about it on the documentation.Is it only useful in i2c mode to tell the host MCU that data can be fetch or can it also be used for other things (ie. telling when the VIC3DA is active) ? We are only using uart mode at the moment. Thanks!

Hello, I am using Teseo-LIV4F for some time. Do you also notice that the sat count drop from the start, i.e. from 27 sats down to ~18-19 over some time (~15 min)? It is reproducible here, a soft reset bring it up again and it goes down again over the next 15 mins. 

Hello,I am working with a TESEO VIC-3DA on a custom board, communicating with a microcontroller. I have configured the RMC message to be sent every 1 ms.However, I noticed that the bearing field (listed as TrackGood in the software instructions datasheet) is not being updated at the same rate. Instead, this field only updates once every 1 second.My questions are:Is this the expected behavior for the TESEO VIC-3DA?Is there any configuration option or method to increase the update rate of the TrackGood/bearing field to match the configured RMC output rate?Thank you in advance for your support.

Hello,I`m using a Teseo-VIC3DA on a custom board with a microcontroller. I was trying to change the current output rate of GGA and RMC sentences over UART. From the software instruction I thought I have to change CDB-ID 600 where the field Dead-Reckoning fix rate is located. I read the default configuration of this parameter and change only the fix rate section. The command I sent is $PSTMSETPAR,1600,0x81400116*5F.But after saving and reset the output rate of those message is still 100ms. What I am doing wrong? What is the correct way of changing this output rate.Thank for your supportRodrigo

Hello,I'm using a Teseo III module from Lantronix. When connected up, I can see NMEA sentences over UART, at 9600 baud.I have a few questions. I'm not a GPS expert, and unfortunately, the Teseo III documentation assumes quite a bit of knowledge.Question 1: What command should I send to be able to temporarily either stop, or slow down the NMEA sentences? I'd like to stop them, so that I can type commands to experiment, and see the responses without the flood of NMEA sentences.Question 2: How do I change to 115200 baud?I have tried issuing the following commands at 9600 baud, but I can't see the responses, because there's so much NMEA sentence activity ongoing.$PSTMSETPAR,3102,0xa*32$PSTMSAVEPAR*58$PSTMSRR*49After issuing those commands, the baud rate doesn't change. I still see NMEA sentences at 9600 baud. The particular module I'm using is Lantronix PNT-SG3FS and their documentation is almost identically a copy of the ST Teseo III documentation.  Thanks in advance f

Hello,  I am currently using the EVB-LIV4F and using page 8 of the UM3212 document to measure the current draw of the module. I am then placing it into SW-standby mode by sending the $PSTMFORCESTANDBY,<seconds>,1 command that I found on this post: https://community.st.com/t5/gnss-positioning/teseo-liv4f-wakeup-interrupt-and-nreset-confusion/td-p/615973 Under these conditions, I am measuring 0.0mV on the VCC (pin #9) and PM_VCC (pin #10) pins and 9.1mV on the VBAT (pin #7) and PM_VBAT (pin #8) pins. From the conversion given, the GNSS module is drawing 91uA on VBAT and not the advertised 10uA. Does the evaluation board need to be in a specific configuration to achieve the 10uA? Any jumpers that need to be added/removed?Where is the documentation on the placement of jumpers? The eval board silkscreen does not have all jumpers labelled (Jxxx) and neither does UM3212 section 6.2... 

Hello,I'm working with the Teseo-VIC3DA GNSS module on a custom board, and I’ve configured it to output both accelerometer and location data over UART.However, I'm observing that periodically the device outputs a dump of its firmware version over UART. Similar to what is shown during boot. According to the datasheet, this kind of output usually occurs after a reset.That said, I’ve been monitoring the GNSS fix, and it does not appear to be lost, even when this output occurs. I have monitored both the RESET and VDD lines and confirmed that the module is not being externally reset or power-cycled.Is there any configuration setting or NMEA'0 command that could cause the Teseo-VIC3DA to periodically reprint the firmware version or behave as if it’s restarting?Are there logs or debug outputs that can help distinguish between a soft reboot and a normal status message?

Hello,I need a Registration key for Teseo-Suite Pro.I send emails to st-teseo-suite-support@st.com twice.I have not received replys. and I have a quaction.I took the car for a test drive to test DR mode.After driving normally, I removed the antenna and drove again.Pink line is Real route.Red lines is Teseo-VICDA Data.Teseo-V1C3DA is fixed to the vehicle so that there is no shaking.There is a big difference between the actual driving route and the DR mode route. Is there a way to correct it?I want to use without WheelTick and Direction signal.

Hello,I have a design with same pinout and package (as LIV4F) that is working with 3.3V from other vendor.Pin 7 is used as VCC_IO and it is connected to 3.3V.The question is, can I replace and put the LIV4F instead?What will happen if pin 7 will get 3.3V (instead of being not connected)?Any chance of harm or malfunction?I don't expect logic issue since I'm working with 3.3V anyway (and no conflict with past pin configuration that was VCC_IO)

There are two examples in the link above from the uploaded data between points 84 and 87 and between points 759 and 763. The settings are standard for the firmware, only parameter 1303 has been changed from 1 to 0.2.

While researching the GNSS module for my project, I got somewhat confused about the power connection of the LIV4F module due to inconsistent information in the manuals. The general recommendation is to run at 1.8V for optimal power consumption, but my interface is running at 3.3V. In the evaluation board manual (UM3212), there's a 3.3V VCC_IO on pin 7 for communication and 1.8V VCC pin 8 for powering the module which would easily allow this set up. In the hardware manual (UM3004) for the module however, pin 7 is marked as reserved - which means there's no separate VCC_IO and I would need to level shift all the communication channels when running at 1.8V. I was hoping you could clarify whether pin 7 is available as VCC_IO or not?

I received the automated email to my first request like others, BUT it has the following warning: "Attention: Sender not authenticated". Is there something i need to do? I have used the same email as my st account, company (Continental) email. I am afraid my email may block the response. We really need Teseo Pro to install new firmware on LIV4F EVB. I received a Vespucci Dev Board from Future Electronics that has a Teseo LIV4F on it. I am currently trying to update it to output the RMC and VTG messages at a 10 Hz Output. I was able to set the 10 Hz rate with the following:$PSTMSETPAR,1303,0.1$PSTMSAVEPAR$PSTMSRR (Reset Chip)This worked to set it to update at 10 Hz.I then used the following to limit the messages incoming to only VTG and RMC.$PSTMSETPAR,1201,50$PSTMSAVEPAR$PSTMSRR (Reset Chip)This worked to limit the messages to only those, but now there is not a new line between each VTG and RMC message. The new line only comes after both messages are received as shown by the following image of my terminal viewer.  Any help to get the new line to send between each message is appreciated!
