I am using the BlueNRG2 in an application which is a simple button press to indicate if it is pressed or not. The device needs to connect to Windows 10 and or 11. I am using the SensorDemo project as the base code and made a few changes to just utilize a GPIO for the button which updates a custom characteristic.Here is the issue. The board is typically in sleep mode until the button is pressed. If the device is not already paired to the Windows machine, it will start advertising. The Windows machine will connect and the board returns to sleep until the next button press. The problem is something is forcing a disconnect after a short period of time in sleep mode. Sometimes its 20 seconds other times it is several minutes. The assumption is when it is in sleep mode, the Windows device is not seeing any activity and is forcing a disconnect. I get a different behavior if I use the device with an Android tablet and another behavior if using an iPad. I know the SensorDemo goes to sleep in be

I have problems to write to flash memory at address 0x10040000 via UART bootloader on BlueNRG-2.Flash start is 0x10040000, but I can only flash the memory from 0x10042000 on, which is a 8kB offset !?The memory is successfully erased before.Second question: when I erase the pages I can only go up to page 124 (0..123). Pages 125..128 are NACKed !?Can anyone clearify this?Regards.

I want to programatically modify the PDO profiles on the fly depending on the available power. The document stusb4710.pdf implies that this is possible:"The STUSB4710 has a set of user-defined parameters that can be customized by NVM re-programming and/or by software through I 2 C interface.""When a default value is changed during system boot by software, the new settings apply as long as the STUSB4710 is being run and until it is changed again"The pertinent bit fields are documented in "TNxxx - STUSB4700 NVM Description.pdf", e.g. LUT_SRC_PDO1_I, LUT_SRC_PDO2_V, etc.The definitions of these bit fields are documented in stusb4710.pdf. However, the locations of these bit fields are only hinted in "Table 9. STUSB4710 register map overview" of stusb4710.pdf and in "3. STUSB_BLOCK register list" in another document "stusb47_registers - public.pdf". We are looking to add a pre qualified bluetooth module to a consumer product and the device live outdoors and periodically connect to a phone. We have identified the BlueNRG-1 as a candidate but perhaps there is a better choice. How well is the BlueNRG-1 supported and is it easy to get up and connected to a phone with sample code? Our requirements are:-Pre certified (ideally CE marked)-Price is a big factor, ideally $1-2 at high quantity (5000)-Will be used to transmit data and over the air updates-Low power sleep but good range required-Industrial temp spec or better (-40 to 85C)-Compatibility with microcontrollers from other vendors-Newest protocols are better assuming they are backwards compatible  Other Questions:-Are there emmulators for bluetooth such as the BlueNRG-1 to speed up software developement?-Is there a ballpark range we can expect with the BlueNRG-1 (line of sight)?-If we decided we needed WiFi and Bluetooth, are there cheap modules that can do

I have a BlueNRG-M2SP on a board with an STM32 Host. I assert the boot pin high and reset the M0 at the start to put it into Bootloader mode. I wait for the popup and set the baudrate, so far so good. When I issue a command with the Flasher Utility it fails with "Auto Baudrate functionality failed". To see what was going on, I set up a serial port monitor and after the utility sent 0x7F to the client it responded with two bytes: 0xC0 0x79, not 0x79.Then I reset the board and opened a serial terminal and sent 0x7F to the client, it responded with two bytes: 0xC0 0x79, not 0x79, same as with the utility. I can successfully run all of the commands from the terminal and the command ACK is always 0x79, except for the ACK from the initial 0x7F. Looking at AN4872 it seems that the bootloader should be returning only 0x79 after receiving the 0x7F.Based on some of the other questions and answers it seems as though going SWD might be less problematic. I would appreciate any suggestions/solutions

Hello everyone,I've been trying to load profiles that are not from Truphone onto the ST4SIM, but all I get are errors. The most basic question I cannot find an answer to is whether the chip does not allow loading profiles from external companies.I'm using an EC25-E Quectel modem, and their support told me that my problem is with the e-SIM, not with the modem.Any help is appreciated.

Currently, I have two STEVAL-IDB011V2 boards (as shown in the figure). One is to send the signal as a transmitter, and the other one is the receiver. After the channel (between Tx and Rx) modulates the signal, how can I extract the carrier signal without decoding on the Rx? Does anyone know the function of this? Thanks!

Hello,During testing with the STUSB1602, I encountered strange behavior when using the DRP-mode. Connecting a USB power bank in this mode does not result in a successful connection. Only after pressing the engage-button on a Powerbank, the connection is made and the PD-negotiations are started about the best sink to draw power from the Powerbank.After carefully debugging, I saw that the CAD-state always goes to source when connecting in DRP-mode. This is CAD-state enumeration 9. This enumeration is state USBPD_CAD_STATE_SWITCH_TO_SRC in the STUSB1602 firmware.However, this enum 9 is USBPD_CAD_STATE_SWITCH_TO_SNK in the STM32G firmware. This firmware works correct.If I change the enums to fit the enums of the STM32G firmware (9 = USBPD_CAD_STATE_SWITCH_TO_SNK; 10 = USBPD_CAD_STATE_SWITCH_TO_SRC) all works 100%.Could this be an firmware error ?

Is it required to put external TVS diodes along with the ST4485EB RS485 IC on the A and B lines? I see the datasheet and notice that there is in-built ESD protection as shown in the data sheet snapshot below. Please advise.

I now have a code that does not give any errors. with the librarys in the picture below. But when i run the code and call for: BSP_accelero_init(); it returns a 1, this means that the sensor is not found. according to the library the I2C adresses are 32 and 3C, but when i do a I2C scanner on my arduino it says this should be 18 and 1E. After trying those adresses it still does not work. Could enyone help me with this? 

Hello Team,I am trying to read some data with the nucleo-L552ZEQ peripheral using the SAI peripheral in asynchronous slave mode configured in TDM Mode.In the attached above, Ch0 is the FS and CH1 is the SCLK signal. I've configured the following:1) FS =  falling edge2) Data size = 16 bit3) No. of slots = 2 Ideally, I should be reading data with the help of 32 clock pulses after the falling edge of the FS signal. In the above mentioned case, where sufficient number of data clocks aren't provided from the master to the MCU, what happens to the data read? Does the peripheral still count for 32 clock pulses (even though they are present out of the current frame)? or does it ignore the LSB once there is a new frame detected? Any leads on this would be really of help. Thanks,Janani  

Good DayI am using Spi with Dma. When using the Hal-function "HAL_SPI_Receive(SPI_HandleTypeDef *hspi, uint8_t *pData, uint16_t Size, uint32_t Timeout)", I want to receive 1000 times Data , which I can set in the size-area. The Problem is that my Spi-peripheral needs constantly Cs-pin to get set and reset to give out Data, else i receive after one usable data just zeros. My question is following: Is there a way to tell the Spi to set and reset the cs when data gets received, and if so, how, or where can this be configured? I am currently using the function in a for loop to receive my Data with the size set to 1. But this is way to slow. Thanks for Helping.  

Hi Everyone,I'm trying to use setup a simple example by using BlueNRG-2 mounted on STEVAL-MKSBOX1v1.By following simple instructions found on User Manuals and replayed on YouTube video, it looked easy to me to setup a VirtualCOM port Example. Everything seems like right configured but I can't estabilish a connection between the board and my Android Phone (I'm using BLE Scanner App). I'm not using BLE Manager but just X-CUBE-BLE2. I don't understand where I'm wrong. Thanks a lot in advance!

Good dayI have a STEVAL-MKI173V1 which is for the LSM303AH.I have to integrate this on a project in VS code, as there is no Zephyr driver for this, I am trying to implement this directly on I2C.The device has two addresses one for the accel and the other for the magn, the supplied addresses /** I2C Device Address 8 bit format **/#define LSM303AH_I2C_ADD_XL       0x3B#define LSM303AH_I2C_ADD_MG       0x3Ddoes not respond when a "device is ready" check is done, I don't see any other addresses in the datasheet. I got these from the header file, supplied under HALI must be missing something, I have tested other I2C devices on the same port and it works just fine. Thanks in advance Sam

Hi, anyone has an example to share for understand which api function can generate a "gatt write request" ? and how to use it?I'm stuck trying to write from central to pheriperal device, because all writes goes into timeout (pheriperla device disconnect before bluenrg ble stack can raise procedure complete event)

There is a nasty behaviour if an overrun occurs with uart communications. I don't know if this happens generally or  with our configuration only (STM32F479NI, RTOS with  CMSIS v1,HAL_UARTEx_ReceiveToIdle_DMA). The Application hangs because endless irqhandler calls occur until  SR and DR register of the uart us read subsequently in order to clear the error flag. Details:I had a problem where the application was hanging from time to time. The reason was that an overrun occured in UART dma receive and afterwards  the IRQ handler was called again and again while the threads of the application were not executed anymore. This behaviour could be reproduced by disconnecting or connecting the device attached to the uart during runtime. Here most of the time an overrun occured. After  adding the following in order to clear the overrun flag there is no hanging anymore. If the behaviour is not a bug, the dodumentation should be improved at least. /* USER CODE BEG

Hi Everyone,I have some questions regarding the registers of the Sub-1GH transceiver 'S2-LP':1) Which registers (configuration registers) are retained in "standby state", in "sleep_A state" and in "sleep_B sate"? Which registers are not retained, and so, must be re-written everytime, when the transceiver goes out of one of the states mentioned above to an "active" state (ready/tx/rx)?2) When the packet format "UART over the air" is used, i.e. tx-data (in UART-format) and rx-data (in UART-format) direct through GPIO, e.g. GPIO0 for rx-data and GPIO2 for tx-data, no data clock signal is needed for the transceiver (S2-LP). Hi,I'm trying to compile the example called SampleApp using keil uVision as IDE. When the project is created, in the Manage Run-Time Environment, the Startup selector in the Device tab is not selected by default, but I selected it before compiling the code.  Apart from this, everything is identical to the example, but during the compilation these errors show. Any idea??David

In addition, I am also considering the BlueNRG-2N, as it uses BLE 5.2 and promises a higher data rate.Are there any known methods for optimizing BLE 4.2? And what about the possibilities with BLE 5.2?While I have done some theoretical research, I'm now at a point where I need to implement these in practice. I'm uncertain if all the theoretical methods can be applied practically. For instance:- Using algorithms for channel selection to reduce noise.- Implementing algorithms to dynamically modify connection parameters for minimal latency in fluctuating environments.- Setting a fixed connection interval and ATT MTU value.

I am working through a workshop tutorial on how to configure and use GPDMA transfers via the linked list functionality provided in STM32CUBEMX. When setting the linked list runtime configuration a Source Address, Destination Address and Data size are specified. In the case of the workshop examples configurations are made for a read from the ADC data register to a user defined buffer named "data" (Source Address: (uint32_t)&(ADC1->DR), Destination Address: data, Data Size: (64*2)) and then subsequently a read from data to the USART transmit data register (Source Address: data, Destination Address: (uint32_t)&(USART1->TDR), Data Size:(64*2)). I would like to apply the learnings from the workshop to configure an I2C read to a slave device with address 0xBB using a circular linked list.
