Hi friends,I´m trying to include a Vl53l1 in my project. I am working with a PIC32MX440 microntroller.I have filled with correct functions in the files vl53l1_platfom.h and .c to use the APIs with my hardware.The commication with the sensor is right, the microcontroller can read and write in to the sensor, everything goes well...I have read the ST APIs manual (UM2356), I have write the recomended calls to start to measure distances, the program works but the range I get isn´t correct, I always get the same result (0x196). I am using the sensor without calibration, I think this behavior is for that reason. Maybe?So I am trying to execute a calibration process. Hi, we are using ST ISM330DLC for measuring vibration. Our main aim is to capture accelerometer data and perform frequency analysis by computing FFT (1K and 2K points). However, we are not able to identify the sampling frequency. What should we consider as sampling frequency? ODR or anything else? If it is ODR, then the maximum ODR is 6660, this means I can measure vibrations in the frequency range from 0Hz to 3.3KHz? Is this correct. Looking forward for your support. Thanks

Hi everyone,we are using an M41T80 RTC on our custom linux board. This RTC has a CLK-OUT feature which is per default to ON and 32kHz. We have another chip wired and depending to that clock signal.On kernel version 4.1.15 there was no feature to enable/disable square wave output for this rtc driver, so it was always on per default.On the new linux-imx 4.14.78 kernel, there was a patch:adding clock-provider feature linux-imx - i.MX Linu

Hello,I try run accelerometer LIS3DHH on Nucleo F411RE. I want check register WHO_AM_I value. I set address on 0x8F (0x0F address register and 0x10 value as set accelerometer to read data from register.) I always receive value 0x00 from register. I run example from STMicroelectronics driver from github service.Is there any sequence that should be done before reading the registers?

Hello all,We have interfaced LSM6DS3 with a wireless microcontroller by I2C for .I want to know how do I select the best ODR value?Is there any standard methods for selecting ODR?According to datasheet I found that if ODR is high the current consumption of the sensor is more if it less the current consumption is less, expect this is there any parameters will affected by changing the ODR?In gyroscope Bandwidth selection LPF2 cut-off frequency depends upon ODR selection? Hi,Can some one explain what is low power mode. It is mentioned in page 45 in the data sheet. But no where it is explained. I would like it to work in low power mode and wake up on certain condition (also cause INTERRUPT) and go back to low power mode.On CRT_REG3 (22h)What is I1_AOI1, I1_AOI2?CTRL_REG6 (25h)which one do they refer to by interrupt 1, interrupt 2 ? On page 35.I feel the data sheet is poorly written, not even bothered to explain the acronym used.Many ThanksJohn

Hello there,I have a question about this sensor. I'll be using it as a low-power device on a PIC, which is most of the time in sleep mode, and will wake up on interrupts from various devices. I want to configure this sensor so it will notify the PIC via interrupt also if some conditions are met.The conditions are:1. As long as the sensor stays on "base" position, which can be any orientation, without (relevant) movement, no interrupt should be generated.2. If the orientation of the sensor changes, e.g if it's lift up/carried around by someone, turned around it's axis, there should be interrupts generated while this happens.3. If there's a vibration (or sth similar), which remains on for a desired time, interrupts should be generated during this.4. On short impacts, it would be cool if they could be ignored by the sensor, but not a must, I can do this by Software aswell.5. I can't/don't want to

Hi, I am following the guide "Getting started with the STMicroelectronics X-CUBE-MEMS1 software package for STM32CubeMX" to try the example "DataLog" with the X-NUCLEO-IKS01A2 and the NUCLEO-L4R5ZI-P. I am using a MacBook Pro with STMCubeMX 4.26.1 and the SW4STM32 for this purpose and I am not able to correct run the examples because I have some compile issues with the code:1. In the app_mems-library.c file there is an #include "stm32l4_nucleo_l4r5zi.h" that couldn't be resolved and therefore the compilation is not done, someone knows why this is happening or where can I found this file?2. In the IKS01A2 middleware component, I also found that there is a file named iks01a2_conf_template.h that needs to be configured for the code to run correctly but it is not mentioned anywhere and I found it after some time of research. Could someone explain to me why this is happening? Why is so confused just to run a simple example?Thank you, 

LIS2DH12 is Configured with BDU=1, Normal Mode, FS=2G. While doing the below step after collecting the data, in non-selftest mode and self mode. We followed the steps detailed in the Application Note AN-5005 and each axis has to be checked as below|MIN(ST_X)| <= OUTX__ST - OUTX_NOST<= |MAX(ST_X)|. similarly for y and z axis is mentioned. 1) Does this MIX(ST_X) and MAX(ST_X) Refer to table 4 Mechanical Characteristics in the Datasheet the Self Test Low is expected to be 17 and Max to be 3602)what is this value against which should the data be compared.

Hi, We have a LIS2DW12 and a S2-LP setup on the same PCB, both using SPI.We have found that the LIS2DW12 has a high of 1.16V on the MISO with Vio = 3.3V. We can see that the correct bits are sent on the MISO, the voltage is just too low for the micro to read. We have further found that this happens when the S2-LP is not in shutdown mode (SDN = 0), as soon as we shut down the S2-LP (SDN = 1) then the LIS2DW12 works fine. In both cases the S2-LP CS remains high.Does anyone know what might cause this problem?Thanks in advanceDouglas

Hello,I'm planning on using the LSM6DSL in my design.For the same reason I have bought & worked on evaluation board, STEVAL-MKI178V1 .In the documentation of this board, I have found that pin no. 10 & pin no. 11 both are used & connected.But in LSM6DSL datasheet these pins are shown as NC pins.I'm getting the data using evaluation board, but unable to get the data using IC only.I'm using nordic processor & through I2C communication I'm reading the accelerometer & gyro values.Do I need to connect pin no. 10 & 11 in hardware?

Hello! I am R&D inclinometer based on LIS3DHH. Firstly I started my works with LIS2HH12 as MEMS accelerometer due to his best accuracy and resolution. I wanted to get accuracy about 1-2 angular minutes. All was good when I turned on almost all internal filters and using software moving average. Even with 7 sec response it was ok for my solution. But after few experiments I discovered problem with temperature stability. I decided use internal temperature sensor to compensate temperature coefficient and started temperature experiment (first with termal camera, but after without, because was a lot noise from camera). And I can't find out temperature coefficient for that. Next figure shows angle for one axis (red), temperature from internal sensor (blue) and reference signal from another special inclinometer. So, angle changed unpredictably on different days.

hello, i am using stm32F401Re nucleo with stm mems sensor kit (x-nucleo-iks01a2).i am using cubeMx with mems library from st. the issue is if i set the accelerometer output data rate 6660 Hz then i got the data ready inerruot with 3329 Hz, which is the half of the ODR.so the data ready interrupt should be the same as ODR.i am toggling the pin inside interrupt. so nothing more in side the interrupt function.any help would be appreciated. thank you

I am interfacing to an LSM6DS33 with an ST32F407using the SPI bus. The SPI is set up as follows:           Fully Duplex           Master           Eight Bit           Clock is high when Idle           Data sampled on second edge           Baud Rate Prescale = 64When I read the Gyro’s X, Y and Z registers they are all always zero. When I look at the SPI signals with a logic analyzer the MISO (SDO) line is always zero. Attached it logic analyze capture of the initialization sequence. I have tried changing the data sampling edge, the board rate and a lot of the write and read code. &nbsp

Posted on May 06, 2014 at 17:18I'm planning to use a LIS3DH on the same SPI bus as an EEPROM.But in the datasheet it says the LIS3DH CS pin is selecting SPI or I2C.So is it possible to use SPI to the EEPROM when LIS3DH CS pin is high (the LIS3DH would be in I2C mode)?I don't think it would be ok, or?  #cs #spi #lis2dh #lis2hh

Hi,i've installed Unicleo-GUI to test X-NUCLEO-IKS01A2 MEMS but the GUI is not starting. In addition i have installed latest Qt5+MinGW64, AlgoBuilder and STM32CubeMX with Firmwares. I see the Unicleo-GUI.exe popup in Windows Process Explorer and after a second ist closes. Are there some other software that is needed to start the GUI ? Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit, i5RegardsLeonid

Hi, I wanna use the lowest power mode possible for my stm32l432kc. I want MCU to wakeup on accelerometer motion (which is possible since the accel generate interrupt on motion). I've read in MCU appnopte AN4621(page 13) that i2c is detected only in stop mode and that it generate a wakeup on i2c address detection (if I understand it correctly). But as I explained this is not what I want. I wonder if I can use shutdown or standby?

This example describes how to set up a finite state machine to enable the built-in detection of a basic PEDOMETER. The picture here below shows the first part of the dedicated FSM code (tomorrow the second and last part will be published). A human step pattern is composed from a first step, than a debounce phase and finally another step phase. The purpose of this part code is to detect the first step and the debounce phase steps. I have a LIS3DH sensor and Unico 7 in my computer and I am using the evaluation board MKI109V3. The thing is that I want to save the temperature data (measured by the Embedded Temperature sensor inside the LIS3DH) in a log file and with Unico this is only possible for Accelerations, LSB, interruptions and angles. It is not possible to save also Temperature? How can I do it? If not, how do you recommend me measure and save this data?
