Hello,I am trying to develop my own sensorless motor control using the STEVAL-ESC001V1 Board. The motor used is a 6 poles BLDC motor. I have successfully been able to run the motor in open loop and it’s running well.In order to have feedback and estimate the rotor position, I want to measure back-EMF voltages, however I can’t really tell where is the back-EMF voltage. I have measured the (curr_fdbk1, curr_fdbk2, curr_fdbk3) and (PHASE_1, PHASE_2, PHASE_3) pins and both of them almost have the same output which is the current feedback. I find this weird because, from my understanding the PHASE_x pins should be the back-EMF voltages.So my question is: from the schematics of the board, which point should be measured in order to have the 3 Back-EMF voltages on the oscilloscope?Attached are the adc measurements of the curr_x pins using ADC in open loop as well as screenshots from the relative schematic parts. STM32F746G-disco board currently uses a STLD40D led driver. I am switching to an LCD that had 1000 nit output that can draw 150mA.  Looking for a driver that can handle about 200mA with PWM dimming capability.  Any suggestions appreciated. 

Hello,I am looking for an IC to monitor cell voltages of a 12s lipo battery.I found the L99BM114 IC. To get started, I bought the STEVAL-BMS114TX.Currently, I have connected 12 resistors in series to my lab supply with 48v. In between these resistors, I soldered cables and connected them to the Connector 7 (P1). On Connector 5 (CN1) I connected an STM32 Development MCU. With that MCU, I try to communicate via SPI. On Connector 2 (CN3) I connected my MCU: GND to GND, VIO to 3V3 and VDD to 5V. My Problem is that I don't get any sings of life from that board via SPI. The Cellcoltages measured at the PCB are correct. I also tried to pull pin20 (SPIEN) of the IC to VCOM, but this doesn't help. Hi, i made up a set up of 4 cells and I connected them to the connector of eval-l9963e-mcu. I already changed 4 cells, cause it seems like there is a dissipation for the cells. When I active the balance by GUI i don't see that the cells are balancing, oyherwise they seem like are discarge fast.Can I know if there is someone that have used the GUI and if he as find problems like mineThank you so much

Our application requires charging a laptop at 65W via USBC with USB data passthrough to the laptop as well.  A tablet computer is typically used to communicate with the laptop while it is charging.  The roles would be aligned with the laptop acting as a device while charging.  Does the STUSB4700 negotiation support data along with power delivery?  If so, is this an NVM default configuration or would microprocessor intervention be required?

I want to design a USB4 Hub where one UFP USB C port has data connection and charging capabilities for a DFP, but can also get charge from a STUSB4710 that I'll supply with a DC voltage externally. So my hub would have a DC input and a USB C data I/O with DFP charging. I'm fairly new to USB C design so I don't really know how I can manage CC from both the STUSB4710 and from the DFP USB C for simultaneous UFP charging and data transmission. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Sir/Madam, My application is photoelectric sensor object detection or object sensing. I am using the L7805 ST make. Positive voltage regulators output voltage is 5V, and I am giving the input voltage as 24V, and the maximum DC voltage is up to 30V DC. The regulator input and output decoupling capacitor value is 10uF/50V_0805. Our main problem is decoupling capacitor failure, either input or output decoupling capacitor. And also, we added the series 10E before the decoupling capacitor; still, we are facing the decoupling capacitor failure (capacitor short). If anyone knows the reason, just tell me.

I try calibrate STPM34 device, but have some troubles.I created some xmls file with Reference Manual and AN4470 and compare results by STPM3x_Evaluation_Software and it different. 1) RM use default Vref value as 1.18, but App use 1.22) Calculation of PHC with PHV=2 different (it true if use formula for PHV=1)Also I find errors in metrology coefficients calculation. metrology.c contains formulas with examples, but it results incorrect.All troubles I placed to xmls file with all needed information.Help me please, get correct formulas for calculation.Thank!

hi all,     i am designing flyback converter based on the l6566bh. i have 2 outputs on the secondary side, both are separate windings (different ground potential) in transformer. can i short together for shared ground reference if isolation is not necessary.

I'm using a single L9963E and it works fine. However, I couldn't start daisy chain connection. When I consider BMS architectures in datasheet, all of them has L9963T transceiver to communicate with further IC. My custom PCB doesn't provide L9963T. So I have two question: 1- Do I really need a transceiver for USE MULTİPLE l9963E slaves ? 2- Can I use the transceiver on EVAL-L9963E-MCU for this purpoeses? Bear in mind, I'm using an external MCU, not built in SPC MCU chip. As I said, I can succesfully communicate single IC and I'm using a cable that has low capacitance. doesn't Lastly, according to datasheet the first node of chain can be one of these:"The daisy chain and dual access ring topologies are based on a chain of BMS evaluation boards. The chain first node can be an AEK-POW-BMSWTX, an AEK-POW-BMSNOTX or an AEK-POW-BMSWTX. Dear all, I received a LED PCB with 16 STCS2A constant current LED drivers in parallel, each powering 4 LEDs. Vcc=12V, for the PWM signal a 5V signal is used, which is supplied as follows: 24V PWM output of PLC is coupled to an optocoupler which is connected to a 5V power supply, the 5V output of this optocoupler is fed to the PWM input of the STCS2A drivers. When testing the system the 5V PWM signal shows high current values up to 1A, luckily this was protected with a glass fuse. What could be causing this problem? Happy to hear any idea's or useful things to test, the PCB is not my own production and I am trying to explain/solve the issue. Best,

Unfortunately, I believe there are some inconsistencies or errors in a few of the equations. I would appreciate your assistance on the following points:The “RMS Input Current” value shown in Table 3 seems to be derived from Equation 9. However, shouldn’t the value be derived from Equations 6 or 8 instead?Regarding Equation 32, is it correct to assume that if the calculated Kg value in this equation is greater than the one calculated in Equation 31, then the selected core is suitable for the application? Additionally, I believe the unit in Equation 32 should be cm⁵ instead of cm².In Equation 33, does the number of primary turns represent a single winding on the primary side of the push-pull transformer, or the total primary turns? We are currently evaluating two ST IPM modules for our motor drive applications — STGIB8CH60TS-E and STGIB15CH60TS-L. Upon reviewing both datasheets, we noticed that although the two devices share the same functional pin descriptions where (STGIB8CH60TS-E have max current of 12A @ 25°C) and (STGIB15CH60TS-L  have a max current of 20A @ 25°C) but package types are different, the physical layout of certain pins, specifically Pin 19 (NV), differs between the two modules.We would appreciate your clarification on the following points:What is the technical reason for the difference in Pin 19 layout between the STGIB8CH60TS-E (Type E package) and STGIB15CH60TS-L (Type L package)?Are there layout-compatible alternatives to STGIB8CH60TS-E (i.e., IPMs with similar electrical characteristics and identical physical pin positions) that could support higher current or allow for flexible sourcing?

 Hello,We are currently developing a couple of devices with USB-C DAM support and have chosen to use the STUSB4500 as the power sink on the device side.We would like to understand whether the following behavior is expected, and if there are any options for managing or configuring it:Using a custom debug board, we pull both CC pins high and then apply 5V power to the CC bus. Once this setup is in place, PD negotiation begins. However, we consistently observe a sequence of three Hard Resets initiated by the STUSB4500. This would not be a concern on its own, but during each Hard Reset, the STUSB4500 also toggles the nVBUSENSNK pin, which in turn enables downstream power for approximately half a second.We’ve attached a screenshot from a CC protocol analyzer illustrating this behavior.Could you please clarify:Is this behavior expected from the STUSB4500?Is there a way to configure the delay on the nVBUSENSNK signal?Can the number of Hard Reset attempts be changed?Is there anything we c

Hello, I noticed that the ISO8200B datasheet specifies CMTI (Common Mode Transient Immunity) performance. However, I would like to know how to actually test or evaluate the CMTI of the ISO8200B using the STEVAL-IFP015V2 evaluation board.Are there any recommended procedures or application notes for performing a CMTI test with this board?If possible, could you provide some guidance or reference materials? I have a been looking at the STBC08 to charge a very small Li Ion battery (Seiko MS-920) which accepts a very small charging current.  Is it possible to increase the size of Rprog resistor to accommodate a charge current of ~1mA?  From what I read, the maximum value of Rprog is around 12kOhm.  Is the primary concern of increasing the value of this resistor feedback loop stability?Thanks!

Hi Guys,I'm using external 3.3V to supply permanently the powerstep01 logic and would like to supply VS (24V) only when I need the motor (I put the schematic in attachment).The problem is the logic does not work without VS.Everything works fine if VS is supplied permanently. But if we supply first 3.3V and the 24V a bit later (when I need the motor), the motor does not run. I have already tried to clear UVLO error flag through CmdGetstatus command after connecting VS but it didn't help. A reset by setting low then resetting high the reset pin didn't help neither.Thanks in advance for your help
