Hi, I'm trying to spec a fully integrated H-bridge for driving a small motor taking up to 6A nominal, with spikes up to 12A (looking at the VNHD7012AY, VNHD7070AY, and the VNH7100BAS). There are a lot of numbers for current limitation on the ST datasheets that I've come across and I haven't been able to find an explanation for. How should I interpret all of these, and how are each of these numbers obtained?Specifically, I'm looking at:- Continuous maximum output current I_max- High-side current limitation I_lim_h- Shutdown low-side current I_sd_ls- Output saturation current I_out_sat (under Current Sense)

Hi, I'm designing a driver using 3x STSPIN9P12 to drive a Permanent Magnet Synchronous motor (PMSM).  I have a ADC connected to the SNSO outputs to measure current and I am controlling the current in the MCU's control loop.  I am not using the COUT and VREF pins.Can / should VREF be tied to GND?I think the TOFF pin does not exist on this version.  Do I leave TOFF floating?  or should TOFF be tied to GND?Jon

Hi . I'm using STGAP2D SO-14 IC in custom project with custom board , and in datasheet i see pin8 specified as N.C. (not connected). Pin8 must be left floating for ic to function properly , or can it be connected to nearby pin7 (GND) ?  Is this pin internally not connected at all (dummy pin) ,or it's connected internally to something ? i'm using single layer pcb currently with pin8 not connected and ic functions properly,but i would like a clear answer about possibility /prohibition of this pin connection - datasheet doesn't explains that . The L6206Q datasheet Figure 14 "Typical Application" does not show the use of any additional SENSE_A or SENSE_B resistors connected to pins 45/46 & 15/16 respectively.  Section 4.3 talks about "the external current sense resistor normally used [being] eliminated."   AN1762 in section 3.5, discusses the selection of sense resistors and suggests that they might be part of the over-current setting process (which the datasheet suggests is handled entirely by the R_CL resistors).So which is correct? Datasheet or AN?  Are sense resistors required or not?  If they are required, how are they selected and how does that selection work with the selection of R_CL current limit resistors?

Hello Team,I am using the STUSB4500 USB Power Delivery controller in my design.I have designed my board by strictly following the reference schematic provided in the STUSB4500 datasheet. Hello,We completed a test of bi-driectional communication of the Proprietary Packet feature (PP) for a mass market client using the STWLC38 (RX) and STWBC86 (TX).We're able to consistently receive the data of 5 bytes reliability from the RX to the TX. In the other direction though, we haven't gotten it to work as the existing bi-directional communication PDF is well, not very specific. On the RX side of things, the message buffer at 0x0190 is always filled with 0's, even though 0x0088 interrupt bit 5 (RX MSG RCVD LTCH) is set to 1. The document states"The difference here is that STWBC86 does not add the checksum automatically, the user must provide it with the message. As we are testing this evaluation board we found that the gate pulses are not being released from the IC " STGAP3S6S", wherein we have tried with all the required power signaling to the evaluation board as specified in the datasheet. Hello I tried to design a 3-output AC-DC converter using the eDesignSuite. But the software only provides the turns ratio for the transformer and no core suggestions or what so ever was shown.I don't get the idea behind the eDesignSuite software that it cannot provide these VERY important details?What is the point of not telling the transformer or the number of turns?Why is the transformer always a BLACK BOX that no one will tell you about?The design we are targeting is very simple and has no magic, a three-output SMPS.Any help?Sam

I'm trying to use GUI(STSW-L9963E=L9963_evaluation_GUI.exe) for EVAL-L9963E-MCU.I installed all the S/W which is listed in maunal for operating GUI.And I have set all things needed, I think.If I connect the board and start a GUI, COM port turns on green 'ack' in gui and firm ware is also OK. But when I click 'configure IDs' button(step 3 in manual below), ack for configure IDs becomes red.What should I check on board or s/w setting?
