Hi, I do not have a lot of experience with the STM32. I used other processors in the past like the LCP1768. We developed a custom bootloader to be able the load a new firmware into the uProcessor.   In our current case, the STM32G474 is connected by USB to our PC software. Is it possible to give the processor a command to reboot in bootloader-mode. Because the boot-pin is already in use by the I2C-bus. Is this possible with the normal bootloader or do we need to develop our own bootloader to do this? Where can I find information to do this? Thanks in advance. With kind regards, ErX

Hi Pascal, Any updates on our previous thread? When testing the same firmware with the EN pin pulled up, we are facing some issues during operation. After about 5–6 operation cycles, the system stops working until the MCU is reset. The issue still persists — could you please suggest what board-level changes might be needed to resolve this? Additionally, we are facing another issue on the CubeMX side: USB PD works well separately,TouchGFX works fine separately. But in our application, we need both to run together. If I disable TouchGFX, USB PD starts working. However, when I try to enable both TouchGFX and USB PD in the IOC file, CubeMX shows an error saying only one can be used at a time. Hello,I designed a custom PCB using the STM32H745IIT6 (LQFP176) and I cannot connect to the MCU using SWD with an ST-LINK V2. I always get “Error in final launch sequence / No device found on target”. Hardware summary: VDD, VDDA, VREF+ → 3.3V VCAP1/2/3 → 2.2 µF VDDLDO → not connected BOOT0 → GND NRST → 10k pull-up + 100nF Board current consumption: 8.5 mA SWD wiring: SWCLK → PA14 SWDIO → PA13 NRST → NRST GND → GND 3.3V → board 3.3V rail (sense) SWO not connected 10k resistors on SWCLK/SWDIO were removed for testing. Observations: PA13 measures ~0.38–0.42 V when ST-LINK is not connected (floating) ST-LINK LED stays red (never turns green) CubeIDE: SWD, “Connect under reset”, 1000 kHz CubeMX power mode:  PWR_DIRECT_SMPS_SUPPLY. Question: What could cause SWD to fail with this configuration?

  Good day! I use TIM15 and DMA1, channel 5 in STM32H743. If DMA and data have a size of 32-bit, then everything works fine. If you configure DMA on 16-bit data, then 32-bit data is still written to the TIM5 registers. In order to save memory, I want to write 16-bit values ​​to the timer. In the documentation I read that DMA1 works only in 32-bit data mode. Is there any way to force DMA1 to transfer data to the timer in 16-bit mode, or even better in 8-bit? Andrey.

I've searched and not found anything describing this behaviour (on the internet or this forum, which I've found to be an incredible resource so far - thank you).I have a configuration where I go into STOP, exit out of STOP via EXTI, start TIM1, allow the stack to unwind to leave HAL_PWR_EnterSTOPMode(), and then SLEEP. With this sequence, I expect a TIM1 interrupt but never hear one.Conversely, if I enter SLEEP instead of STOP for the very first step but perform all of the other steps identically, I get the behaviour I'm looking for - an EXTI, then a period asleep, then a TIM1 callback. This tells me that the STOP is interfering with the configuration of the timer somehow, in a way that I haven't been able to figure out how to recover from.I've tried, after exiting STOP, to re-issue a call to HAL_TIM_Base_MspInit and MX_TIM1_Init but this has not helped. Removing the final SLEEP and spin-waiting has also not helped.Why might this be happening? Where should I start the debug e

Hi, I am currently trying to make a single pulse test jig I can use to test MOSFETs in an series resonant converter. I am using the STM32F411CEU6.  I am trying to make a state machine that can make these signals at two different pins. The two variable periods I would like to control with a potentiometer connected to ADC1_IN1 and ADC1_IN2. However, I only see a high pulse on one of the output and only low on the other. I am trying to use TIM2 as an output compare timing mode where I am using the four different channels and their respective CCRx to toggle the output how I want them. I have tried debugging my code. And it seems like the interrupt fires from the CC1IF but when I am checking in the flag is set it has already been reset and my if sentence won't run. Hi, I am using a NUCLEO-G474RE with the X-NUCLEO-SRC1M1 board. I have created and configures the project according to https://wiki.st.com/stm32mcu/wiki/STM32StepByStep:Getting_started_with_USB-Power_Delivery_Source I am monitoring the board with the UCPD Monitor, configured one 9V 3A PDO and connected a 9V 3A PSU. My issue is that some devices (mobile phones) charge slowly, some dont charge at all and some charge at full speed. The PD negotiation seems to work in all cases, the 9V is present at TP1 in all cases. My suspicion is that the unused CC line (VCONN line) is not being powered by the board. Heyho,I have a super-stable TCP-audio-streaming server on a H733 here, using custom ETH driver and lwIP, no OS.But I recently found that in a struct which is used for handling / storing the TCP connection, the variable to store the port number "u16Port" (used in lwIP's tcp_bind() to set the TCP port) changes as soon as data is transmitted.It's really crazy: u16Port has the init value before and after the connection is accepted, but as soon as data is transmitted, it changes all the time (checked via UART and http REST). When data transfer stops, it keeps the latest wrong value, after TCP connection is closed,  u16Port has the init value again.All other values in the struct do NOT change and their values make sense.I have tried to set the struct to volatile, use another memory area, align, but still changing.I just checked it with the STM32CubeIDE debugger under Live Expressions, there I see the same change.I admit I have no idea how I can check where this variable is modified.How

Hello All, I am facing a strange situationI have an ISR function1 that is triggered on Falling / Rising Edge of a GPIO pin This function1 according to the state of variable will either start TIMER2 and stop TIMER3 and the way around.TIMER2 & 3 have also ISR. But before starting/stopping TIMER, it needs to update memory variable that will be used by TIMER ISR.The issue is that the variable is effectively updated in memory after the start of TIMER and a few (100 CPU) cycles are needed to get the proper value.This is time critical and I need the value of wrBitPos to be 0 and wrBitCounter to be set a the right value before the first timer iteration. How can I fix this ?I use the volatile declaration for variable.void function1(){ TIM3->DIER &= ~TIM_DIER_CC4IE; // disable CC4 interrupt TIM3->CCER &= ~TIM_CCER_CC4E; // disable CC4 output TIM3->CR1 &= ~TIM_CR1_CEN; // stop the timer wrBitPos=0; bytePtr++; // Reset the BitPos wrBitCounter=by

Hi All, I'm using an STM32F1 with a 240x240 LCD screen that comunicates with the micro by SPI (with DMA). The screen uses the ST7789 driver (I supose it is not important). I'm working with RGB565 color format.The problem that I have is, for example, when I'm using the ST7789_Fill_Color(YELLOW); the SPI uses the DMA and the LCD shoul be yellow but it's not. If yellow is 0b1111 1111 1110 0000 the DMA only sends to SPI the LSB (0b0000 0000 1110 0000) witch is a wrong color.When I do the same without DMA it work's fine!The DMA is configures this way:I tried every configuration possible but nothing works. My question is why the DMA only graps the first byte of a color and what I have to change in order to send the real color.Thanks in advance!!! 

Hi,I have a problem with the ADC2 calibration on STM32H743VIT6(V). I use ADC1 and ADC2 in dual mode(Regular simultaneous mode). On some boards the ADC2 calibartion doesn't work. (The ADCAL-Bit in ADC_CR is not cleard after start).On the boards where I have the problem with the ADC2 calibration, when I change the dual mode to simultaneous mode + Regular simultaneous mode the calibration of ADC2 works.I don't unstertand this bevaior. What is the problem of ADC2 calibration on some controllers in Regular simultaneous mode. 

Hi,  I want to count the time that an incoming level signal is high for. To achieve this I setup Timer 15 as a Gated Mode Slave, which has it's counter counting while the trigger input is high. The trigger input is the Filtered Timer 15 Channel 1. For some reason when I connect my signal to my input Timer. Nothing Happens. The signal on the IO Pin TIM 15 CH1  is a 2V square Wave.My own software seems correct. I then moved to Hal to see if I can achieve it.  I've tried to use HAL to achieve this without any luck here is my HAL software.Uploaded is the main and IOC fileI am working on the STM32G071Thanks 

I’d like to use the NUCLEO-N657X0-Q board together with the B-CAMS-IMX camera to output video to a computer as a webcam using CSI → DCMIPP → UVC.However, since all the CSI and UVC examples are provided only for the STM32N6570-DK, I’m having difficulty creating this setup. Although there are some examples for the NUCLEO-N657X0-Q, I’m struggling to understand the code. Is there a simple project or example that uses only CSI – DCMIPP – UVC?

My problem is that the HAL_UARTEx_RxEventCallback never triggers for the HAL_UART_RXEVENT_IDLE event. It only triggers for HAL_UART_RXEVENT_HT (Half Transfer) and HAL_UART_RXEVENT_TC (Transfer Complete).SetupFunction Call: HAL_UARTEx_ReceiveToIdle_DMA()RX Buffer Size: 1000 bytesDMA Mode: CircularData Source: A peripheral sends packets of variable size (approx. 2048 - 4096 bytes) at 1,000,000 bits/s.Idle Time: There is a guaranteed idle time of > 45ms between packets. I have several an 2 F401RE boards connected to my PCs and getting data by the Virtual Communication Port.Unfortunately when installing a new board on the PC, I ve seen that my 2 boards were declared by Windows with the COM portCOM port 7, 9 and 10 are allocated by Windows to others boards I am under the impression that there is a bug in the Virtual COM driver that do not authorize to declare a virtual COM Port beyond COM10.Is there a fix or a workaround. Otherwise Is it possible to reuse an COM port, for instance the COM 9. Is there a procedure to unsintall the COM9 in order to use for my new boardFinally, I would have connected in parallel, on my system, 3 boards with COM8, COM0 and COM10

I'm looking for portable way to do a timeout check via timer.Here, I want a timeout IRQ if UART receive DMA hangs up.First I setup a OnePulse timer in Cube. It generates the following code:if (HAL_TIM_Base_Init(&htim6) != HAL_OK) { Error_Handler(); } if (HAL_TIM_OnePulse_Init(&htim6, TIM_OPMODE_SINGLE) != HAL_OK) { Error_Handler(); }The second init function does almost the same as the first but activates the OneShot mode which stops the counter immediately if IRQ is fired.I was looking for a suitable HAL function to setup the timeout value but failed. Instead I use__HAL_TIM_SetCounter(htim, 1); // set start value __HAL_TIM_SetAutoreload(htim, ulDelay); // set end value __HAL_TIM_ENABLE(htim);The last macro is required because after the RX DMA is done in time, the timer has to be stopped to prevent from false timeout IRQs.Is this the way to go? Is there a HAL-compatible solution which I didn't get?Thanks

Hi,I’m using an STM32L052 with LQFP32 package, VDD = 1,8V.According to the datasheet:“VDD_USB = 1.65 to 3.6V: external power supply for USB transceiver, USB_DM (PA11) and USB_DP (PA12). To guarantee a correct voltage level for USB communication VDD_USB must be above 3.0V. If USB is not used this pin must be tied to VDD or VSS. On packages without VDD_USB pin, VDD_USB voltage is internally connected to VDDvoltage”Since in the LQFP32 package VDD_USB is internally connected to VDD, it is therefore powered at 1,8V in my design.As expected, the USB interface does not operate when I connect the board to a PC and risk of damage because D+ and D- tied to 1,8VCould you please confirm that the internal USB PHY cannot operate correctly at 1,8 V, and that USB operation requires VDD ≥ 3.0 V even when VDD_USB is internally tied to VDD ?If so, what would be the recommended workaround for designs that operate the MCU at 1,8 V ?Thanks in advance for your clarification.

Hi, I am using a STM32F411CEU6. I am trying to make the One Pulse Mode of TIM1 start every time TIM2 has counted its ARR. However, I don't seem to really understand what the relevancy of the ARR of TIM1 is when having  TIM2 controlling the start(except if it is longer than TIM2 ARR i guess). Now I have 90MHz on both APB1 and APB2 and the PSC of both TIM1 and TIM2 is 90. I was following an example online where he sat the ARR of TIM1 to 50000 and ARR of TIM2 to 60000. The Pulse of TIM1 was 10000. From my understanding when I am running in output compare mode PWM1, TIM1 should start every 60ms and have a ON time of 10ms. Instead I see an ON time of 20ms and a period of 60ms. However when I change the ARR of TIM1 this ON time also changes. Is there something I am missing completely here? (I also have to change the OCMODE of TIM1 to PWM1 because it does not seem to be an option in MX)Thanks in advance!
