Hello,I’m currently working with the STM32F103VET6 and experimenting with different peripherals to better understand how RCC, GPIOs, and timers interact — both from the block diagrams and the HAL layer.I've observed some unexpected behavior in the following two cases:Case 1: TIM1_CH1 in Input Capture Mode (PA8)I enabled TIM1_CH1 in input capture mode.I did not enable the clock for GPIOA, and PA8 was not configured as Alternate Function input in the GPIO registers.Despite this, input capture worked correctly — I could detect edges on PA8 as expected.Case 2: MCO Output on PA8I configured the MCO to output the system clock on PA8.Again, GPIOA was not clocked, and PA8 was not configured as AF output, but the clock signal appeared correctly on PA8.My Analysis and QuestionsI tried to reason this using the GPIO block diagram from the reference manual:I can see that each GPIO pin has a multiplexer between GPIO and peripheral alternate functions.At reset, all GPIO pins are set to input floating

Hello,I have got an STM32U5G9J-DK1 and I want to use its VBAT pin which has been connected to the signal VDD_MCU, which is internal to the board, via solder bridge SB29. As far as my understanding of the data sheet goes, the VBAT pin is supposed to be fed with 1.8 V. So, I was thinking to remove the solder bridge and connect an appropriate battery for this operation. Could you suggest me some good batteries that would suffice this requirement?Thanks in advance.Regards,Gaurav.

On my dual-core STM32H747IGT6 I've got the CM4 doing data acquisition and processing, it's taking its output and storing it into shared memory (multiple possible destination buffers - some in SRAM1, some in SRAM2) for the CM7 to pick up.  It's working fine except that it's taking longer than I would like and I'm trying to figure out how to speed up the code.In order to figure out where the slowdown was happening, I set up TIM3 to run at full speed (240 MHz) and then I check the value of TIM3 before and after certain chunks of code.  Here's the chunk I'm looking at: __disable_irq(); // So no IRQs fire, throwing off the timing start_timer = LL_TIM_GetCounter(TIM3); // buffer_state is in SRAM1 or SRAM2 buffer_state->buffer->data[adc_index].samples[num_data] = adc_value; buffer_state->buffer->data[lpf_index].samples[num_data] = lpf_value; buffer_state->buffer->data[hpf_index].samples[num_data] = hpf_value; buffer_state->buffer->data[dac_index].s

Eval board used:stm32f446re nucleo Issue unable to configure pin pa 2 and pa3 as output.Steps followed to configure:Rcc->AHB1ENR 0X01;GPIOA->MODER |=0X01<<4;GPIOA->MODER |=0X01<<6;GPIOA->ODR=0X01<<2;GPIOA->ODR=0X01<<2;.EVEN I USED DEBUG MODE TO CH CK WHETHER BITS ARE GETTING CONFIGURED OR not.everythings I working fine expect pin is not going high.When I use sam steps of other pins of same port PAx ,it works.Please help me onthat one more I checked whether these pins are configured to work with uart2 even though I am configuring moder and odr .but nothing usefull I got.Thanks for your r understanding waiting for support

Hi  I am facing one issue I am trying to run Timer2 and as soon I have enable the by setting CR1 register bit CEN, My all flags in SR is getting set even I have enabled only(UIE) so my UIF flag bit in SR register must set but it is setting all (CC4IF CC3IF CC2IF CC1IF) . Can you help me to understand is it normal or why it was happened? B.R Ashish

iam working on stm32h7a3zi controller in that datasheet they mentioned up to 164 I/O pins capable of 5V tolerant but they didn,t mentioned about which pins are capable of 5v tolerant

When I program my STM32WLE5  using STM32CubeProgrammer and UART, a simple push on the reset button does not reset the MCU.I always need to power-cycle it.Why is the reset-pin not working, or why does it not start the application ? Is there a way to configure the option bytes to solve this ? More info : I am doing this on a custom board, which has a USB-UART (CP2102N). Whenever the device comes out of reset, I check for the USB voltage, and if present, I jump to the bootloader.After programming I remove the USB and reset the device again which should start the application. But until now this second reset does not work and I need to powercycle the MCU.

Dear ST, Will you be releasing a variant of the H5 with both USB HS support and hexadeca/hspi/xspi support?It seems confusing that your U5 series supports this but your higher speed more performance range doesn't. Thanks.

Hi everyone,I'm working with the STM32F030 and recently ran into a hardware limitation that I unfortunately discovered only after designing my custom PCB:I'm using PA4 (TIM14_CH1) to control an LED driver (like SM16126 or WS2812), but just realized that TIM14 has no DMA support on this MCU.So now I'm trying to find a workaround to still achieve DMA-controlled PWM output on PA4 without redesigning the PCB.🧠 My current idea:Since TIM14 can still generate PWM on PA4, I thought of using another timer (e.g. TIM2) as a DMA trigger source to regularly write new values into TIM14->CCR1, changing the PWM duty cycle every 1.25 µs (or whatever timing is required).So the setup would be:TIM14 is configured for standard PWM output on PA4TIM2 runs at e.g. 800 kHz and triggers a DMA transfer every 1.25 µsDMA writes the next CCR1 value from a pwmBuffer[] to TIM14->CCR1→ This way, the output waveform on PA4 changes duty-cycle at each step, encoding the bits I need (T0H/T1H), while the CPU stays f

I have on my desk an STM32F407 Discovery board and an STM32U083 Nucleo board.  My intent is to write software for the F407 to bootload the U083 via I2C.  As far as I can tell, these are the general steps:Drive BOOT0 high and pulse the NRST pin on the U083 to enter the bootloader.Send appropriate erase/write/read commands to reprogram flash.Drive BOOT0 low and pulse the NRST pin to have the U083 boot from flash.Problem is, I can't even seem to do step 1.  I have a logic analyzer verifying NRST and BOOT0 at the U083 chip, but regardless of the state of BOOT0, if I reset the U083, it boots from flash (i.e. I see my debug output on the UART).Looking at RM0503, section 2.5 Boot configuration, Table 6 Boot modes, there are two ways to boot into system memory.  Summarizing the table's logic conditions:BOOT_LOCK bit must be 0.nBOOT1 bit must be 1.If nBOOT_SEL bit is 0, BOOT0 pin must be 1.If nBOOT_SEL bit is 1, nBOOT0 bit must be 0.Here are the option bytes and their factor

Hello, I have a custom board wich is based on the evspin32g4-dual Board. I generated the code with motorcontrol work bench and could upload it with a j-link. I added an uart output in the startup and noticed that it kept printing it, so the board was constantly resetting. When I stepped through the code the problem was in HAL_Delay, as the HAL_GetTick() function always returned the same value, thus not leaving the function. Could there be an error with the external Crystal? I am using a ECS-240-8-37-CKM-TR with 8pF caps.Thanks!

Hi everyone,I'm developing on an STM32L562CEU6P board using STM32CubeIDE on a Windows 11 laptop.In my project, I'm trying to use the USB_DEVICE feature, but when I run the project, my computer fails to recognize the USB device.What I've tested so far:I tested the same board on a desktop computer running Windows 10 – the USB device was recognized successfully.I tested a different board (NUCLEO-F767ZI) on my laptop – it was recognized without issues.I verified that the physical connection is fine, drivers are installed, and there are no hardware issues.My questions:Could there be a difference in USB recognition between desktop and laptop computers?Could this issue be related to the operating system (Windows 11 vs. Windows 10)?Are there any specific drivers or settings required for the STM32L562CEU6P board?I’d really appreciate any help, suggestions, or insights :folded_hands:Thanks!

Hello, I am using QuadSPI in STM32H723ZGT6 which has OCTOSPI and I am changing octospi to quadspi in pin configuration and writing code also I had written same code for STM32H750VBT6 which only supports QUADSPI and I am using W25Q128JVSIQ Flash for this in H750 the same code is working but in H723 it is not working can anyone explain me why you can check my main.c file for both of the controllers I am attaching it below.

Hello , I'm using STM32G431RB, and I am trying to flash the MCU via UART1 using PA9 and PA10 pins but I can't make it work ..I get an error like "Error: Activating device: KO. Please, verify the boot mode configuration and check the serial port configuration. Reset your device then try again... "Serial port configuration = 9600 8e1 (but it's the same thing with other baudrates)i'm using STM32Cube Programmer , also I followed the instructions in AN2606 , the application note states that it should follow pattern 15 , as far as I can view the option bytes using the onboard ST-Link:BOOT_LOCK(bit) = uncheckedBoot0(pin) = manually set highnBoot1(bit) = checkedBoot0_SW(bit) = checkedThe chip is mounted on a new PCB without any other connections than PA9, PA10, RCC_OSC_IN, RCC_OSC_OUT and Serial Wire for debugging.Can someone help me?Thanks to everyone in advance     

Hello,I am attempting to set up QSPI to operate in classic SPI mode so that I can transmit data to another STM32 processor. I have set up my code as followed and have connected my QSPI lines to an oscilloscope and a half duplex SPI slave on the same board for testing. I am unable to see any signals being sent over the QSPI lines. Hi all,I'm working on a project based on the STM32H7 and STM32G4 series, and I'm performing flash write and erase operations using the STM32 HAL functions:HAL_FLASH_Program()HAL_FLASHEx_Erase() My question is: Should these functions be placed into the .ramfunc section to avoid instruction fetch stalls or faults when writing/erasing flash on the same bank where code is executing?Is there any direct feeback from ST about this topic? On this topic I've the following observations:I know that flash memory becomes unavailable during erase/programming, and the reference manual warns that executing from the same bank can cause CPU stalls or faults.(from H7 RM:  The embedded flash memory supports read-while-write operations provided the read and write operations target different banks)However, in my testing:I'm calling these HAL functions from flash, without placing them in RAM.I'm writing to or erasing a sector in the same bank where my code resides (e.g. bootloader on

Facing issue with CAN baud rate change!1. The Master and slave devices are communicating at baud rate of 1Mbps.2. If I change the baud rate of Master device to any other baud rate(like, 250kbps, 500kbps,125kbps,50kbps) then master device contiguously restarting the device! Got to know that, it is restarting due to watch dog timer!3. To resolve the restart issue, added the timeout logic in the while loop where it is entering into intialize mode and normal mode.4. I gave CAN_TIMEOUT as 1000ms, If I add timeout logic, device is not communicating with slave and data is not exchanging due while timeout logic5. From the reference manue, I can find a term half-DMA, but this term is not well described, and I don't know what this half means, what is the difference bewteen a half-DMA and a normal DMA??? Is it just the size or the available target address is smaller??

Dear CommunityI have a problem with the UART1 on the STM32U585x board.
