Hello Community, I have an observation from my attempt to daisy chain multiple AEK-POW-BMS63EN devices.  I have made a battery pack which has two 14-cell Battery modules in series. One module is supposed to be connected to one AEK-POW-BMS63EN and send data over ISOSPI lines back to the AEK-ISOSPI-SPI Translator and then to the master, which is AEK-MCU-C4MLIT1.  I validated the individual slaves first, and they were working. However, when I connected the ISOH line of my first slave with the ISOL line of the second slave, it created a short circuit, and the slave IC burnt. I want to know what the correct configuration is for connecting the ISOSPI lines for a daisy chain.  I have attached my configuration in the attached photo.  Thank you Regards, Vipul

I posted recently about getting set up with the demo for the GUI application, and got great help from @SRomeo. I've now moved on to the SingleAccess Chain demo, and could use some more help if you don't mind?I am using the C4ML1T, ISOSPI1, and 2 BMS63EN boards each connected to a BMSHOLD cell holder. The first device has 8 cells connected to it, the second has 4. In both cases, there are cells occupying slots 1, 2, 13, and 14.In AutoDevKitStudio, the AEK-POW-BMS63ENCHAIN component is set up with a single chain, with two devices. I have connected the ISOSPI1 board to the C4ML1T as per the allocated pins visible on the board view, below.Once the code is compiled and generated, and the board is flashed, I get periodic LED illumination, and zero values for all data printed to the serial terminal. See video below for hardware behaviour, including how the frequency of the LEDs changes with a reset.I suppose my first question is am I interpreting the board view pin designations correctly? NSL

Hello Community,I am trying to build a 333V Battery Pack with AEK-MCU-C4MLIT1 as the Master, AEK-ISOSPI Translator and multiple AEK-POW-BMS69EN as slaves in daisy chain configuration. I would like to get the information such as cell voltages, SOC, and Balancing commands from the slave and send it onto the Vehicle CAN Network.As of now, I have been able to get the cell voltages on the serial terminal from one 48V dummy pack which I have built. And, I have been able to send some dummy data from the AEK-MCU-C4MLIT1 Master CAN 1 Channel and read it with the help of a CAN KVASER Dongle.Now, When I went for combining these two functionality the project didn't seem to work. I suspect that maybe the pins which I am using to establish the ISOSPI communication between the Master and the Slave are interfering when I am trying to establish the CAN Communication. But, I tried configuring the pins on the CAN0 channel (Pin 101 as RX and Pin 102 as TX) but I am not seeing anything on the CAN_1_L

Hey, I am trying to build a battery pack with AEK-POW-BMS63EN BMS Slave Boards, AEK-MCU-C4MLIT1 as the Master Board, and an ISOSPI Translator.  I have made a 4S Dummy Battery to check whether I could get the cell data on the serial bus from the Master Board. As suggested, I started working with the Example code titled 'SPC58EC-AEK_POW_BMS63EN_SOC_Est_SingleAccess_CHAIN application for discovery' but although the code got flashed onto the master board, I was still reading '0' values from the slave.  Again, I tried the program titled 'SPC58EC - AEK_POW_BMS63EN_SOC_Estimation_Single application for discovery', since I realized that there was no ISOSPI Component added in the previous project. With this example project, I started getting some values but they seem incorrect. I am getting 5.8V on Cell 1 and 0V on the rest of the cells even when I checked the voltage on the test pins on the board between C0 and C1 is 3.8V.  I am definitely doing something wrong here, I

Hello,I am trying to set up the 14 cell GUI using the C4MLIT1, ISOSPI1, and BMS63EN boards. At this point in time, I am only interested in the logging functionality and just want to use the demo as it comes.I have the hardware set up in centralized configuration, with just a single BMS63EN connected to 14 cells via the BMSHOLD cell holder (~56 V total). When I start the GUI, the serial port connects, but no data appears.Could someone advise on whether I have understood the broad steps correctly, starting from having AutoDevKitStudio installed and GUI project imported?Move GUI .exe to desktop.Connect ISOSPI1 to MCU as per the board view schematic, shown by clicking "SPC58EC 4M board view". I'm trying to debug to SPC582B-DIS board and I'm trying to 2 combination.But I didn't succeed debugging.First, I'm using SPC582-DIS Board rev 1.1 and AutoDevKit Studio version 2.4.0.I installed openodc drivers according to the doc named 'How to use OpenOCD and SPC5-UDESTK in SPC5Studio'.These are located 'AutoDevKitStudio-2.4.0\openocd\docs' and  'AutoDevKitStudio-2.4.0\openocd\drivers'. Second, I'm using SPC582-DIS Board rev 1.1 and AutoDevKit Studio version 2.4.0 and UDE STK 5.2.I installed PLS UDE Driver and UDE STK 5.2 according to 'SPC5-UDESTK Getting Started' manual.I used AutoDevKit to make .elf and wsx. And I Opend .wsx by UDE STK.  I swapped USB Driver in two combination cases. 

Hello, I am trying to debug an example code on a recently bought AEK-MCU-C4MLIT1 Evaluation Board via AEKSMCU-SPC5LNK using OpenOCD. I am fairly new to Embedded Systems and Eclipse Environment so I have just been following instructions.  And things don't seem as straightforward as STM32CubeIDE.... Hey Community!I am trying to build a BMS for a 333V Battery using AEK-MCU-C4MLIT1 as the Master MCU, AEK-COM-ISOSPI1 as the translator and multiple AEK-POW-BMS63EN boards in a daisy chain.Although there are various examples provided in the SPC5Studio that one can use to get started with the BMS System. However, I am still finding it difficult to use the API functions effectively. I feel that although there are a lot of functions available in the API, their definitions are still absent in the documentation. Is there any other documentation which one can read to understand the data structures and different functions present in the API for the AEK-POW-BMS63EN?Thanks,Vipul

Hello everyone,I have been flashing the code written in AutDevKit Studio 2.4.0 using UDE STK 2021 for the AEK-AUD-C1D9031, which uses the SPC582B60E1 MCU. I want to start debugging the code line by line using breakpoints.Currently, I have the option to add breakpoints in AutDevKit Studio, but it is of no use since I am flashing the code with UDE STK 2021.Could someone guide me on how to add breakpoints in UDE STK 2021? Also, how can I add variables to the watch window?I referred to the manual I attached but couldn’t figure out the exact steps to add breakpoints or watch variables in the program shown in UDE STK 2021.

Hello, I stareted to develop PSI5 interface with L9663. My point is to read initialization data via SPI. If I set DOUT1 as direct data output (CH1_CR1->DOUT1_SE = 0), I am able to measure received data on this pin. But if  I set this pin as interrupt (CH1_CR1->DOUT1_SE = 1), then I am not able to read initialization data via SPI (but interrupt is active).  My procedure: 1. set READ_INIT_DATA1 bit in CH1_CR1 2. Enable PSI5 (with requierd settings) 3. Reading initialization data by this command: After this  INITDATA_RDY in SR3 is not set. Is this procedure correct? What I should write to "init_buf_id" and "Register" bits? I tried to make loop for all possible combinations, but there wasn't any data.   Thank you for your response.

Hi everyone,I am implementing the communication between MCU SPC582B and High side driver VN9D5D20F. SPI signals seem fine to me, see next image:Spi Clk frequency = 625kHz  (range is 0Mhz to 8Mhz)CS transaction time = 71usTime between bytes = 7usTransaction 1 = read CTRL (en = 1, parity = 1, GSBN = 1)Transaction 2 = read SOCR (all zeroes, GSBN = 1)Transaction 3 = GSB = 20h (SPIE = 1) On the third transaction, I can't understand why reading SOCR register cause the driver to throw the SPI error (clk count is adequate and SDI is not stuck.I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks,FP

Dear Community member,In L9963E burst response for 0x78, we are getting only 17 response frames out of 18 after feedback response.Last frame 18 is missing. Also the cell 7,8,9,10 is disable, while it is showing no data(for disable cell) for cell 6,7,8,9.Seems like frame is shifted one above.Also the cell voltage data in burst response(Vcellx field in response frame 1 to 14) is consistent compared to voltage read by individual voltage sense register Vcellx.what could be possible reasons for frame loss ?Adding spi signals in logic analyser for reference.  Regards,bitBuddy

Hi,The screenshot below is from the L9963E datasheet DS13636, page 125. Is the description for VTREF_BIST_FAIL here a typo?It matches exactly the description of a the VCOM_COMP_BIST_FAIL bit in the BIST_COMP register, which makes more sense. I note there is also a VTREF_COMP_BIST_FAIL bit in the BIST_COMP register, how does VTREF_BIST_FAIL compare to this flag?I can't find any other references to VTREF_BIST_FAIL in the rest of the datasheet.Best, Jack
