Hi,I am trying to calculate the MTBF (mean time between failures) value for the STM32H743VIT6 module. Please suggest any techniques for the same. I am currently using the Qjc (Junction to Case Thermal Resistance) and Pd (Power Dissipation) values to calculate the same.Please provide the Qjc value for STM32H743VIT6 at 35 and 50 degrees Celsius or suggest another appropriate method to calculate the MTBF value for the same. Thanks,OF

Beside my Nucleo-H7S3L8 board, I have other boards where the MCU can do JTAG and have JTAG pin accessible, but neither STM32CubeProgrammer not OpenOCD and other programmers can detect/attach  via JTAG. SWD works works fine on these boardsHere the output of the Log window of STM32CubeProgrammer of two similar boards with  STM32L412KB chips with full JTAG connections, NJRST pin is left unconnected. I have designed an STM32U5A9NJH6Q into a custom board for a medical device.  The display is working great in the first rev of the boards.  In the next revision of the boards, I have been asked to add the capability to power off the LCD display.  Are there any issues (back feeding power, etc) with having an unpowered LCD display connected to the DSI pins on the STM32U5?  Are there any things the software engineers should do (reset the DSI peripheral?) to minimize issues?  Is there any additional hardware I should add between the LCD and the STM32?  Thanks!

Hello,i would like to read output from a digital microphone using SAI, DMA and double buffering technic. transfert are done and callbacks are triggering properly.  The problem is got is either Half cplt or Full cmplt callback interrupt being called the full memory buffer is overwritten and not the half of it as expected.What is wrong with my code ? Hi,I'm using stm32f103vet6 in my design, but due to the limit power budget, the MCU consumes much power(60mA per MCU , while I used 2 chips in my design), result in frequently triggering over current protection. Is there pin to pin compatible STM32L series part which could be utilized to replace the original one, so that I don't have to make hardware change?Thanks.

Hi,i'm always looking for the most efficient implementation of code in my STM controllers and was wondering which is the most efficient way to implement ADC reading from an external ADC chip trough SPI in an STM32G4 controller.The ADC (MCP3461/2/4) have a continious mode and set an interrupt line after each conversion. The 16 bit adc value is present in a buffer register to read trough SPI.I see these 3 choises:Using HAL_SPI_Receive_DMA, but as the ADC send 16 bits at a time i'm not sure this is the best solution. Each ADC conversion interrupt i need to start the DMA which fire a Transfer-Complete interrupt to read the actual value.Using HAL_SPI_Receive_IT, Each ADC conversion interrupt i need to start the interrupt driven SPI read which fire a Transfer-Complete interrupt to read the actual value. Just by reading the 16 bits each ADC conversion interrupt with the blocking HAL_SPI_Receive function as this

Hello everyone, I'm a bit confused about using USB.I need to use the USB port both to create a CDC connection with a PC and to read/write data from USB flash drives.Initially, I wanted to create a project that could handle both HOST and DEVICE modes, but I see that I would have to generate two separate projects and then manually copy some libraries.I also tried the USB Dual Role configuration, but I don't understand its purpose as it doesn't generate anything related to USB.Then, I saw that I can create a configuration like USB HOST  with mode HOST SUPPORTING ALL CLASSES so I’m asking if with this mode I can do both things, and if you could point me to any examples of how to do this.I thank you in advance.

I am using a Nucleo F401RE board to drive a PCM5102a PCM Audio Codec via I2S.My goal is to send data from a double buffer via DMA.Since I am only using the Audio Codec as an output, I configured my I2S as Half-Duplex Master in CubeMX.Now to my problem:In the generated I2S HAL driver stm32f4xx_hal_i2s_ex.c, there is no DMA Callback registered for Transmit Cplt or HalfCplt:I am calling HAL_I2SEx_TransmitReceive_DMA in main.c, to start the DMA cycle. everything works fine, except Callback invocation. Hello!In my project, I have one "Mother board" and other four "Child boards".Both boards are using STM32H503RBT6 microcontrollers.There needs to be a communication between the Mother (master/controller) and the Child (slave/target). Child to Child won't be needed.I thought about using I2C communication. However, I don't want to have anything different hardware-wise between the Child boards (such as a different pulldown resistor value or a jumper to set a different address for each one).Also, I would like the Child to have all the same firmware (Mother is going to have a dedicated different firmware). Therefore, I can't set the Child address by flashing different firmwares.Therefore, I thought about two approaches:      1) If I use I2C, would it be alright to use the broadcast address to talk to all the Children at once and "gradually" assigning address to each one with some programming

Hi,I am using STM32u585 MCU.It has 2 FLASH banks of 1MB each one.In initially I read correct data (64 bytes) from page 0 of FLASH bank 2, at address 0x0810.0000After that I erase the FLASH page.In CubeIDE Memory Browser window I can see that the page is erased.When I try to read the same address from FLASH I do not read 0xFF bytes (as expected) but I read the previous bytes before page erase.When I read the contents of another FLASH page (bank 2 page 1 - the next page) it reads correct data and if after that I read the contents of page 0 I read the correct page contents (0xFF) bytes.The same happens if I read bytes into the page 0, when I try to read the page I receive the previous bytes.This happens to every FLASH page.The MCU behaves like there is a FLASH "cache" memory that holds the last page contents and if I want to read the new data bytes I have to reset the "cache" by reading another page.Is there a

I'm working with the STM32F407G-DISC1 development board and I would like to generate a square wave on PB14 (TIM8_CH2N). I'm able to successfully toggle PB14 using "bit-banging" and I'm able to successfully generate square waves PC6 (TIM8_CH1) and PC8 (TIM8_CH3). However, no matter what I do, I can't make TIM8 output anything on PB14 (TIM8_CH2N). Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong (please see attached screenshot)? Please note that I can't use any other timer/pin instead.

Hello all,I have been trying to get the discovery board working in video mode with double buffering example working but have had no luck. I tried three different projects, the really old one from some release from two years ago, the 1.11.0 release, and the 1.11.1 release (a patch to the 1.11.0 release which seem to have added additional files relating to the display, i.e., nt35510.c, though I don't understand how this works since there's also the OTM8009A which I've copied from the previous release 1.11.1). None of these projects seem to give the expected behavior and frustratingly still results in tearing.This is captured on my phone, what's shown below

HiI am using STM32L4R9ZI for my product and I am facing an issue in updating Flash. I am using flash_l4.c as provided by CubeIDE Project along with the STWIN Kit. I have attached the flash_l4.c for reference. I am using the FLASH_update() function to write data on Flash. Sometimes HAL_FLASHEx_Erase returns an error and the function bails out. Upon the second try the board gets stuck and watchdog happens. Upon the rest, when I try to read the content of Flash on that page it is all empty (i.e 0xFFFFFFFF) on that page.Can anyone clarify to me how the page got erased when HAL_FLASHEx_Erase() was unsuccessful?How I can resolve this issue in case of Failure as my second retry for FLASH_update() freezes the board? Most of the time I never face this issue.Any help is appreciated.

Hi,now I'm implementing i2c with 1 master(U575ZI-Q) and 3 slave(L432KC) boards. master transmit dataBuf to slave HAL_I2C_Master_Transmit_IT(&hi2c1, addr<<1, dataBuf, sizeof(dataBuf)); and Slave receive it.HAL_I2C_Slave_Receive_IT(&hi2c1, dataBuf, sizeof(dataBuf)); I already checked slave address and dataBuf, no problem.

I'm using UART to send message. To prevent data race, I'd like to first disable then enable transmit complete interrupt when trying sending more data. STM32H7 can support SPI communication, Parallel communication, GPIO analog SPI communication, but can it support TTL, SDR CMOS, JESD204B protocol communication? Or what should I do if I want STM32 to implement these protocols?

I am using the USB port on a STM32U595 in device mode only. I am not using a type-C interface with a CC controller. I see that the NUCLEO144_Q with STM32U575 divides the USB VBUS input and connects it to PC2 for use as VBUS_SENSE.[Q1] Do I need to connect PA9/PA10 (USB_OTG_HS_VBUS and USB_OTG_HS_ID) on the U595?[Q2] If so, what is the recommended approach? For example, tie USB_OTG_HS_VBUS directly to the 5V VBUS input and tie USB_OTG_HS_ID to VDD to indicate device role?[Q3] How is PC2 used for VBUS_SENSE on the U575 NUCLEO board - just as an interrupt or general-purpose input?[Q4] Should I connect VBUS to PC2 like the NUCLEO board instead of using USB_OTG_HS_VBUS?Thank you  -Jason
