Posted on February 09, 2012 at 01:06Hi Chaps,Going slowly mad trying to get Chan Fat working with the sdio libs on a stm32f4.I'm using the most recent (1.0.0) library for the F4, and the low level access demo within that library builds and (at least appears to ) work OK. I've spent many, many hours attempting to patch in 0.9 version of fatfs from chan (thks chan, you're a hero) - but I can't get it to work.If possible, I'd really really appreciate a demo project/source (or direction to - though I've scoured the web and can't find anything that works!)I'll post separately about the current problems I'm having with the my current build, but a working example would sort it.Many thanks,nat. #hse-sdio-stm32 #stm32-fat-chanfat-fatfs-sdio #sdcard-stm32f4-sdio-fatfs #sdcard-stm32f4-sdio-fatfs

Hey all,Would I be able to use a Bluetooth module to view video stream from camera module in order for user to view camera feed while setting camera up in the field? I only need to see video stream when setting camera up, after that the camera will take pictures at a specific interval.  Thanks

Hello, I'm attempting to establish communication between an STM32L552CET6 microcontroller and an external flash memory. When I manually initiate communication, the component responds to the microcontroller, indicating no hardware issues. However, when I attempt to create a NAND filesystem, the read function places the data at an address inaccessible to the microcontroller. Hello! I am currently working on the stm32h747 dual core microcontroller. i have a specific scenario where i must reset the system (i am using the "NVIC_SystemReset()" function for this purpose), however, i want to retain the state of several GPIOs (since they serve as power enable for other systems connected).  is this at all possible?  thanks in advance for your responses.

Hi everyone,i am using stm32g0c1retx MCU for i2c communication in slave mode. in normal mode i am able to get the data and ACK on i2c line, even after changing the different slave addresses. i am using single address mode for communication. But, when i change MCU mode to Boot mode and trying to detect the i2c on 0X5D slave address , i didnt get the ACK for write frame and not able to detect my MCU on this line. i used another device as master it is able to detect the MCU in boot mode with address 0X5D, but with this device i am not able to get any address. it is always showing NAK in read frame, can anyone suggest me what to do next?  i have uploaded the images from logic analyzer showing1) slave address detected by one device and 2) slave address not detected by my device .

Hello everyone, I am using an STM32F405 for a communication over can. It is receiving the messages on CAN1 and CAN2. For drivers I use STM32_HAL. My initialization procedure goes the following way:Init clocksInit GPIOsInit CANInit CAN peripheralInit filtersActivate notification(CAN_IT_RX_FIFO0_MSG_PENDING, CAN_IT_RX_FIFO0_OVERRUN)HAL_CAN_StartI repeat this for CAN1 and CAN2.The code is fine, when the can messages start arriving some time after the CAN peripheral is initialized, but if it arrives immediately then microcontroller ends in a HardFault.In the production environment there are two devices on each bus: microcontroller and BMS. In this setup the HardFault occurs regularily, as microcontroller doesn't ACK the CAN frame which then BMS retries immediately. Hello,In my STM32F407G-DISCO based project I use CAN1 and CAN2 to communicate with two encoders. I read the position of the encoders every 4 ms. I use TIM6 to generate an interrupt every 4 ms. It all works beautifully - it sends the position of each of them via UART2. However, when I want to run timer 7 which will send the position of each of them via UART3 every 1 second, suddenly the program does not read the position via CAN2. I'm working with the STM32F405 microcontroller and I recently ran out of RAM, but then I discovered that the 64 kB CCMRAM was completely unused. Given that the CCMRAM was supposed to be fast, I moved the stack and state variables of low-level drivers into CCMRAM, but I found that some code actually executed slower after these changes. Most notably a software UART (that simply writes to GPIOx->BSRR 10 times uninterruptedly) had it's Baud rate changed from 3 MBaud to 2.4 MBaud after the stack was moved. Can someone please give some guidelines on what's appropriate to place in the CCMRAM if I want the fastest performance of my code?

Hello, maybe a lame question, but how to force enable SWV even if the microcontroller in the project does not support it? Or use ST-link's SWO as console input? (does not have to be SWV)I got a project in Cube IDE for STM32G071KBU3 microcontroller using SWD for programming/debugging. All works fine. I connected ST-LINK/V2 SWO to unused UART TX on the microcontroller in hope that I would be able to capture that UART TX in Cude IDE for debug purposes. However STM32G071KBU3 does not have dedicated SWO pin so SWV enable option is greyed out in Debug Configuration window.Do you know how to force enable SWV so I can see messages coming o

Hi,I am using STM32U575VIT6Q in a BPSK receiver. The STM32U575 SPI1 is set to slave, receiver only. GPDMA channel 6 is linked to the SPI1 input and buffering input data to a data array. The SPI1 clock input (PA5) is connected to TIM1 channel 3 output (PE13) with clock at 1.6667MHz.  The SPI1 input is working well when the data size is set to 8 bits. To optimize the demodulator, I would like to use 20bits data size which will simplify the algorithm implementation. However once I changed the SPI1 data size other than 8, it will be always trapped to Error_Handler(). What is the reason and how to solve it? Thanks.Regards,

HiI am struggling to get hardware SS management to work.SSM=0, SSOE=1andSSOM=0, SP=000From RM0456 ( Section 68.4.7 Slave select (SS) pin management ) I am expecting that the SS pin is driven to active level when transfer starts ( CSTART = 1 ) and it is kept until EOT flag is set ( or transmission is suspended ).This seem to work as intended.But when transfer has ended SPI_CloseTransfer is called and when the __HAL_SPI_DISABLE_IT macro is used the SS pin is driven to active level again.This feels like a hardware bug.According to RM0456 CSTART is cleared when EOT flag is set ( or when a suspend request is accepted ).Thus what I see is:SS active when CSTART is set ( rising edge ).It goes inactive when EOT flag is set ( rising edge ).It goes active again when interrupts are disabled ( could be the EOT interrupt, however others are disabled at the same time ).Thus it seems that the configur

The maximum sampling rate of STM32H743 ADC1 and ADC2 is 3.6MSPS. According to the aroma sampling principle, the maximum sine wave frequency that can be collected is 1.8MHz. I don't know if I understand it this way, right? I want to collect higher-frequency sine waves. Is there any way to use the built-in ADC? Can reducing the number of bits improve the sampling rate and collect higher-frequency sine waves?

Hi,I'm working on a project that uses STM32F722RE and I wanted to set the system clock to max value of 216 MHz using 12MHz external crystal as the input for the PLL. The problem is, if I set the SYSCLK and HCLK to 216 MHz, the code fails to initialize, but if I set it below 104 MHz it runs fine. When program enters the SystemClock_Config(void) function in debugger, it ends up in the hard fault handler after a few seconds. Everything is set up using CubeMX and no code is changed prior to compiling and flashing the MCU. I'm using Keil uVision 5 by the way. HI STM team,I am using NUCLEO-F439ZI BOARD. I am new to this board. According to the basic configuration the ETH selection shows the warning symbol, reference based on the internet example, the ethernet configuration it does not show the PHY Address option. while I choose RMII mode. The portB _PIN0 select as GPIO output, but that same pin is used for ETH_RXD2, this selection makes the warning symbol. when I bye-pass warning and use the program for pinging it shows the connection failure and timeout error message. Does ST provide an excel or CSV form of a pin functionality spreadsheet, to aid in assigning pin connections during development? This would be similar to Table 13 in the datasheet, but not in PDF form.

Hi, I collecting values from ADC using DMA in my STM32H750BVT. And it have too big repetetive spread in every pin which I checked. Attaching ADC measurments array, attaching graph (y axis is bits and x axis is nr of conversion): 0 bit results it's issue of copying data to excell, don't pay attention on that. That's my understanding of problem: Internal capasitor of ADC is charging and after that ADC starts conversions which slowly discharging it, after some deadtime that capasitor is recharging.My question is how can I setup ADC to let it recharge capacitor afrer every conversion in DMA mode?Didn't I wrongly defined root c

Hello,I am using STM32U599VIT6Q for my project and I am unable to flash the MCU. When I turn on the board it consumes 50mA. Also, I am not using SMPS so I have connected the pins (VDDSMPS, VDDLXSPS, VDD11, and VSSSMPS) to the GND. Whenever I try to run the code it says cannot connect to the device.  The boot0 pin is pulled low and I have NRST pulled high on board and I connected it to the oscilloscope and found that the pin goes low when Jlink tries to flash.  Supply to the MCU is stable with 3.3V.  Schematics is attached below for reference Are SMPS pins a problem? Are they must use for this MCU? Could you please help me with what could be a problem?

Is the Cortex-M3 core particularly unique? Why do many tools, like CubeMX.AI, specifically not support the STM32F1 series with M3 core?

Hi,I want to use STM32G474's HRTIM for my project.There is one input(A) and 2 output(B,C) signals.I need to check the input signals controls and then I want to transmit the 'A' signal as the output as the 'B' signal. It should be same as the A signal. I don't want to regenerate the output signal i want to transmit the A signal to the output as a B signal. This is my main purpouse. And for the C signal i need to reverse the A signal but again those all signals should have the same frequency. Is it possible to do it with HRTIM module?

Hi,I would like to use the FDCAN peripheral of the STM32G0B1, for CAN2.0B.Coming from the F0 CAN peripheral, I can understand most of the new peripheral easily.However, for the bit timing, per FDCAN specification, there are 2 bit times: the nominal (like standard CAN) and the one for the fast data. So far so good.For the nominal bit time, it is written at the bottom of the page 1232 of the RM0444 (36.4.7) that the CAN bit time may (not must ?) be programmed in the range of 4 to 81 time quanta.My questions are:This limitation is strange as the bit time is made of [NTSEG1 + NTSEG2 + 3] * tq, with NTSEG1/2 being as high as 255, 127 respectiveley, so well above 81.What happens if the total of bit quanta is equal to 3 or above 81 ?This limitation is not mentionned in the data bit time register. Is it also applicable ?Best regards.
