Hi,Problem: I'm getting errors when trying to send ttcan time reference messages while FDCAN1 is set to external loopback mode.Description: I have an application where we are using TTCAN effectively with one device acting as a TTCAN-Master and sending time reference messages to nodes on the same can bus. The fdcan protocol we're using is 1Mbps/4Mbps with bit rate switching.  We have a new application where it would be helpful if we could use the master with FDCAN1 set in external loopback mode while sending the time reference messages. However, when I switch the fdcan mode from FDCAN_MODE_NORMAL to FDCAN_MODE_EXTERNAL_LOOPBACK I start seeing errors in the time reference messages. They are still appearing at the correct rate and with no CAN frame errors, but the discontinuity bit is set and the cycle_count is not counting, just stuck at 1. I have two nucleo boards communicating over SPI.  No Interrupts; No DMA ;   Using HAL TransmitReceive(..)   Chip Select set by software.  Simple  8 char ASCII Transfer.  Everything Works....almost.  I am using a logic analyzer to monitor the interaction. When I start both the Master before the Slave,  every thing works.When I start the Master After the Slave, No Data Transfer takes place.Is this normal behavior??How can I keep the two units in sync if the Master starts after the Slave???Any suggestions??

Hi everybody,I am using STM32F042G6 MCU for an automotive project and since It doesn't have mush FLASH (32kB) I am trying to reduce code size as much as possible.Lookign at the linker file generated by STM32CubeMX, I see that instructions are aligned to 4 bytes. Since M0 architecture uses Thumb instruction set which is 16 bit wide, I was wondering wether instructions can be aligned to 2 bytes, saving some flash. Since I am not very experienced in this area of MCU I would like to know from you if this is correct or if I am missing something. I will link part of the linker script. The STM32F429 processor operates at 180MHz, with a clock cycle of 5.56ns. Is there a way to reset the counter and the prescaler via a hard event or something when an input capture happens?I use timer 1 to have a hall interface and to drive timer 8. But there are some fluctuations, because the interrupt (where i reset counter and prescaler) is not fired at the exact time as the input capture happens.

I'm using STM32F407 as a USB host. I have multiple devices in which we are using CH340E as the USB to serial communication. The problem is if that device somehow turns off and CH340E loses its power. The USB Host can not transmit data to the other device through CH340E. But if I just turn on that device and connect it to a PC USB and then transmit anything to that device through a virtual terminal, the USB host can transmit & receive data with that device until it is powered down. AppliState becoming ready all the time. That means MCU can get the interface. When PC starts communication, it sends a USB configuration file to the device via USB drivers. But in MCU, there is no such driver software. Only have line coding.  Now, my question is, is it possible to set the USB configuration of CH340E from STM32 USB Host? Hi,I've been using stand-alone RTCs that clearly indicate through a specific bit whether the date is correct or may have been corrupted by undervoltage.I cannot find any clear indication of a similar feature for the RTC integrated in the STM32F446 (using LSE), so I have 2 hypotheses:- The tamper functionality is supposed to be used for that purpose, but I don't really understand how;- In the event of a Vbat low-power, the RTC registers are reset and there is no possibility of an inbetween situation where the registers were not reset but the low-power situation corrupted the time.I guess that I can't the first one to want to verify that the RTC date is correct, so does anyone know how to do that? Thanks,Étienne.

Hi, I'm using an STM32L053R6Tx chipI've implemented at TMR2_interrupt hander it gets triggered on ARR overflow and CC1FI'm using the interrupt to trigger a GPIO output to work like a PWM the- GPIO is high when CNT is less than CCR1- GPIO is low when CNT is greater than CCR1(I couldn't use the PWM hardware pin because its not wired to the correct pin on the circuit board hence i have to do it manually)the Timer 2 frequency with ARR = 200 is approx. 22khzThe code works as expected i.e. when CCR1 value triggers before the interrupt is completed e.g. for CCR1 values between 1-5 i.e. same PWM size for any value between 1-5. I expect this case. I'm new to using the Nucleo environment I am not seeing any activity on the PB10 and PB11 when using the SMBUS_TwoBoards_ComIT_Master example, when looking at those pins on a scope.    I only have one board currently. - Board: NUCLEO-U575ZI-Q (embeds a STM32U575ZITxQ device)- SCL Pin: PB.10 (CN10, D36)- SDA Pin: PB.11 (CN10, D35)I can see CN10, but here can I see a definitive description of where D36 and D35 are on the board. Also, the next stage is to read some registers in an BMS chip.  Can I use HAL_SMBUS_Master_Transmit_IT()  to read a value register value in my slave device?

Hello,I've been doing a small project lately and ran into a problem in one part. I have two STM32 microcontrollers and I want to communicate both of them with eachother over UART. One of them is designed to send a fixed array of 6 charactersuint8_t k[6]={3,7,9,12,16,19};The other microcontroller is simply to receive it. When I send a single byte over the UART it all works without a problem. When I want to send the whole array it only fills the first element.This first element is filled with random numbers from this sent array.I know for sure there is no problem on the sending side. I checked it on an oscilloscope. The problem lies in the receiving side.I suspect that the problem lies in the timing, but I don't know how to fix itIn both microcontrollers the baud rate is the same – 9600. Hi community,I have a problem where Ethernet does not work when VOS is set from scale3 to scale2 or scale1 on a customer board.Please help us solve the problem. Clock and peripheral settings use code generated with CubeMX v6.9.1. The CPU is STM32H745IIK6.The Ethernet driver used is one that has been confirmed to work by our company. For VOS scale3, the Ethernet driver works normally. All:We have a custom board with STM32H723 where VREF+ is set to 3 volts.When I feed ADC3 input 2 with a value of 0 volts, I get 118 counts on the 12-bit ADC,  1.48 volts gives 1385 counts, and 2.95 volts gives 2600 counts.Earlier work with Nucleo board with STM32h723 had VREF+ set to 3.3 volts.Same inputs: ADC3 input 2 with a value of 0 volts gives 12 counts on the 12-bit ADC,   1.65 volts gives 2090 counts, and 3.3 volts gives 4075 counts.I was expecting to see similar values when I switched from Nucleo to custom.I am running  HAL_ADCEx_Calibration_Start( ) at power up.The ADC is set up not to use DMA, so I send the following every 50 msec:ADC_Select_Temperature();HAL_ADC_Start(&hadc3);HAL_ADC_PollForConversion(&hadc3, HAL_MAX_DELAY);temp_value = HAL_ADC_GetValue(&hadc3);HAL_ADC_Stop(&hadc3); Is there a setup step needed for change in VR

Hello,We are using the STM32C0 in a low-power application.  We initially selected the part with 12K SRAM in case we needed to use more than 6K, but after development have found that we can make do with 6K.  I am curious if there is any power savings by moving to the 6K part.  The "Supply Current Characteristics" in the C011 vs C031 data sheets are cut-and-paste identical which leads me to believe that the extra SRAM has no impact on power consumption, in which case we would just stay with the 12K part.  However, if the copy/paste was somehow an oversight and we could save some power by switching to the 6K part then we'd consider doing that.Thanks,TG

Heyho,I just made an interesting observation on the STM32H735 Discovery concerning the internal core power supply.I'm working on an ethernet bootloader for my custom board using an STM32H733, which has no internal SMPS, only the LDO.As I do not yet have a prototype, I'm working currently with the STM32H735 Discovery Kit, which has the internal power supply wired to use its SMPS.But here's the mistake I made when writing the bootloader code:- I used the H733 setup using the internal LDO - and the STM32H735-DK is not wired for thatThis worked for about 2 weeks without any issue, but this morning the board seemed dead, not even the STM32 programmer could access it.After about searching for the problem I found that the firmware I made for the H735 was still working, compared the files and found my SMPS/LDO setup error, changed the bootloader accordingly,

Hi folks,I use MX to generate a code for STM32L4. I noticed, when I configure timer in one pulse mode, I cannot set OC CH1 in PWM mode with CubeMX. I could set it manually after code was generated, but it would be overwritten if I run MX one more time.Could someone explain, if it is a bug in the tool or "feature"? Cheers

Hello everyone!I'm trying to communicate with a slave device (ICM-42688-P: https://invensense.tdk.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/ds-000347_icm-42688-p-datasheet.pdf), but I don't recieve anything on the MISO line. I'm using the nucleo-wb55rg for the master device. The ICM-42688 typically needs 1.8V for the VDD and VDDIO, but the datasheet says it can be used between the range of 1.71V and 3.6V. Therefore I just used the nucleo's 3.3V pin output to power both. After that I configured the SPI following the datasheet:

In my device based on STM32U535, I use the internal RTC with LSE with external 32.768KHz crystal as the clock source. The VBat pin is powered with an external rechargeable battery. The charging is done externally, and the internal VBat charger is not activated (VBE bit of PWR->BDCR2 register is not set).When the voltage on VBat pin is in the working range (above approx.1.65 V, which is the minimal VBat voltage according to the datasheet), the current consumption in VBat circuit is about 0.7..0.8 uA. But when the battery is discharged below this threshold, the current consumption suddenly increases up to 8 microampers, and then is slowly decreasing while the battery is being discharged and the voltage is decreasing. And if I power up the MCU again after that, the battery domain is reset and the time is lost.

Hello, Sometimes I have my stm32F7 going in hardfault_handler, so for my customers I have to display on a screen the last address where the software crashed, then I can analyse which problem occure the crash. So I want to get the value "pc" (program counter) like I can see in the Fault Analyzer of stm32cubeide. I tried many supossed solutions :__attribute__ ((__noinline__)) void *get_pc() { return __builtin_return_address(0); } orstatic __inline__ void *get_pc(void) { void *pc; asm("mov %0, pc" : "=r"(pc)); return pc; }but it only return the value of the current function called, and not the same value as in the Fault Analyzer of stm32cubeide. Is there a solution ? Thank you

While using memory mapped mode for APS6408L using STM32u585 on B-U585I-IOT02A, how is the row boundary crossing handled?* If I want to write across multiple Rows in memory mapped mode, do I need to handle this manually or is it automatically handled by the memory controller?* Is it possible to write at any even address with data of any length or is there any limitation on the maximum size of data that can be written in single instructions like using memcpy?

I've been using an STM32G474xx in a project for a few years now and have a function that jumps to the bootloader. It seems in a recent rev of the chip the bootloader has changed. I'm finding that I can no longer jump to the bootloader similar to how this post describes. https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus/how-to-jump-to-system-bootloader-from-application-code-on-stm32/ta-p/49424Now there seems to be a bootloader precheck that requires me to set the option bits to control the boot pins. I'd like to just continue jumping directly into the bootloader without having to edit the option bits. Does anybody know where I can find the address of the actual bootloader?

In my project I use FDCAN1 and FDCAN2 for communication.At startup of the system CAN1 ist used to send out messages with 500 kBit - CAN2 is used to receive data at 1 MBit and this works.
