STM32CubeIDE (MCUs)

Is there a way to split the XPSR register view up so you can see each status bit by its name rather than the 32-bit value?The SFRs have this feature, why do the general registers not have it enabled by default?

I'm using NucleoG071RB for this experiment. I have an (periodic) external signal that should reset the Timer counter to zero, so that the PWM is synchronized to the external signal. I used the external signal to generate an interrupt (EXTI), and reset the counter in software (TIM1->CNT = 0). There is latency detected when the signals are measured with an oscilloscope. I tried to use Timer Input Capture as an alternative but to no avail. Is there any other alternative to approach this? Thank you in advance.

Hi , I implemented modbus over ethernet on my NUCLEO-H723ZG mcu board. I could poll from modbus poll software. But when I try to poll from modbus poll from different devices at the same time , it is not able to poll.Couldn't connect.

I started a project based on the STM32N657X0H3Q.  The .IOC file gets generated.  I was trying to search for various pins.  I typed in "PA0" . . . all OK . . . continued with other PAX pins.  After a while, the user interface became more and more sluggish, until finally I had to kill the IDE and start over.  This behavior is repeatable.  Anyone else experiencing something similar?  I am using STM32CubeIDE Version: 1.17.0, Build: 23558_20241125_2245 (UTC). Any help is appreciated. I see great promise for the STM32N6 . . .

I am working on stm32h573i-dk board... i want x-cube-azrtos-h5 for Netx duo...but there is no option to download this...manually io download it from st website but how to link to ide 

I finally got the following code to function after forcing a compiler error to see what registers the compiler was selecting for the inline assembly output and inputs. What I found was that the compiler was using register R3 for both output (count) and the first input. Hello, ever since I installed the IDE I have had an error message pop-up every time I open it (see attached imaged):An internal error occurred during: "AutoRegisterSchemeHandlersJob".Could not initialize class com.sun.jna.NativeAs well asAn internal error occurred during: "Initializing External-tools".Could not initialize class com.sun.jna.NativeAt first I didn't think much of it since I could create and work on new projects without issue, however now that I need to upload the program I made to the MCU (STM32F303RE) I get an error relating to the same issue:An internal error occurred during: "Launching PRACTICA0 Debug".Could not initialize class com.sun.jna.NativeI have tried searching everywhere for a fix yet I could not find one, have already tried reinstalling the IDE, ST-LINK Drivers, even reinstalled Java as well as JDK, both at latest versions.I am currently using Windows 10 10.0.19045

Hi All,I upgraded from 1.13.2 to 1.17.0 this week and have created one new project since, in the same workspace as all the ones I have created using the old version. For reasons I won't bore you with I needed to do a re-install of the software today, again to 1.17.0.I then used File-> Open Projects from Filing System to restore my projects and all imported fine except the one I created in 1.17.0. I have tried it multiple times to no avail (note that I elected not to migrate any of the older projects when the option was offered on the first import).On the retries, literally nothing happens- no hour glass, nothing new appears in the explorer window, no warning, no messages of any kind.Anyone any ideas?Many thanks

For the first week of having the board, I was able to load different programs with no problem. Somehow, it seems that I got the board into a bad state.  Now, most of the times when I try to flash a program to the board I get the infamous:  Waiting for debugger connection... EDIT:  Found the search/replace window on a different monitor.  Is there some reason why searching in CubeIDE is so hard to do?  Half the time I hit Ctrl-F (like it says in the File menu) and nothing happens.  I have to read past forum posts to find that Ctrl-H used to work... well, now it does again!  But not Ctrl-F.  And when I want to do a line-by-line Replace, this function is not available... first, you have to close all open files, set Use Only Open Files In Editor, then shotgun the whole file!  This is not how any other editor or IDE works... I've complained about Atmel/Microchip's Studio but this is painful and turgid.  Is this why Keil and IAR are so often given as alternatives?  Am I dumb for using CubeIDE?  And don't get me started on how the Example Select popup completely takes over the OS UI... literally the only program I've ever seen do this.  Oh, here's another interesting tidbit... STM32CubeIDE is not availab

Is it possible to disable arm-none-eabi-gdb.exe --version checking, when it start debug on CubeIDE?Because of security related issue of my company, the excution time take too long (about 1 min)When it start debug with st-link it was failed with below message:"Could not determine GDB version using command: arm-none-eabi-gdb --version" So, I'd like to disable or skip this step (gdb version checking). Can anyone help me?  

When building with STM32CubeIDE, an error related to gnu-toolchain occurs.I am attaching the error log.Looking at the log, it seems that the error occurs because libc.a and libm.a cannot be found.However, since the above libraries are eventually found in another folder, the error seems to be avoided, but the following error is output afterwards.collect2.exe: error: ld returned 5 exit statusEven though this error is displayed, the executable file (*.elf) is generated, so the build itself seems to be successful, but I don't know why the error is displayed.I am not sure what caused this error, but I think it was probably after I upgraded CubeIDE.I have tried reinstalling CubeIDE and reverting to older versions (Ver1.14.0, Ver1.16.0, etc.), but it did not improve.If you have any workarounds for this phenomenon, please let me know.

Hello everyone,I want to store configuration data in a flash section that should be retained after updating the code on the controller / flashing a new program. Is this possible using the CubeIDE? If yes, how is it done. If no, can this be done otherwise? As far as I can tell, when downloading the code onto the microcontroller, the whole flash storage will be erased.Thanks for your help!

The equipment I am using is the following: Nucleo-Board L476RG, STM32CubeIde 1.10.1. I am attempting to design a simple dsp system that uses an ADC to send the data it receives from a function waveform generator to a DAC, and the DAC output will then be connected to an oscilloscope. I am trying to figure out how to use the TIM2 interrupt to drive sampling from PC2 with ADC1, and then immediately send the ADC data to DAC for output from PA4.The function generator will generate a sin signal with a frequency of 100Hz.

I run my python script in C/C++ Build --> Settings --> Build Steps --> Pre-build steps by running command:cd ${ProjDirPath}/menu_language_generator && python generate.pyThis script generates header files to my project with langauge translations. Script works fine and generates these files but then they are not visible and compilator shows errors. After second compilation when files has been already generated the process end up successfully. How can I refresh files after pre-build and compile project on first time after generating files?

Hello,I am using my custom PCB with the STM32H747IIT6 microcontroller. I have set up a JTAG/SWD connection. Initially, when I power up the board and connect via ST-Link, I can access the microcontroller through STM32CubeProgrammer without any issues.However, after generating a new code in CubeIDE and flashing it onto the MCU, I can no longer connect to the device. Hi Is it possible to share some peripherals between cores?My goals is to share the SD card  trought CM7  and CM4 using hardware semaphore for the access(one SD hardware but both cores can write and read on it sharing the SD pins).Using Stm32CubeIDE i have seen that for some peripherals  is possible flag both processors,decide who of those have to initialize it, but both can use it(as my understanding).I have tried several time with the usart as well but right now i am stuck on this problem.Is it possibile do that?Is there some examples?Thanks in advanceBest Regards

Hello,I am working on a project using STM32CubeIDE with an STM32F103C8T6 microcontroller. After formatting my computer and reinstalling STM32CubeIDE, none of the code I write seems to run. Interestingly, I am not receiving any error messages either. I have verified that my ST-Link connection and hardware connections are correct. Hello,I'm facing a very annoying issue in CubeIDE.Board: Nucleo-F412ZH.The project uses TIM1 Channel4 to genrate a Stream of PWM pulses to drive a WS2812B LED strip using DMA.It also uses TIM9 to generate the systick.With this configuration, the MCU goes to HardFault in HAL_Init -> HAL_InitTick.The HardFault is triggered when the SysTicvk interrupt is enabled.Digging in the code, I found that the guilty code is in the shared interrupt handler.This handler is invoked by the SysTick interrupt but, due to the interrupt sharing with TIM1 Break interrupt,the handler call HAL_TIM_IRQHandler for TIM1.Digging deeper, I found that the code calls a non existing CallBack function (NULL pointer).At this point of the program, TIM1 is not yet initialized, it will be initialized later in the main function.Here after are the the guilty parts of the generated code.If I remove the line HAL_TIM_IRQHandler(&htim1); all run fine.This issue is not exclusive to the TIM1/TIM9 pairing, it occurs for any
