STM32CubeMX (MCUs)

I'm missing the FATFS supporting library files after adding SDIO SD card support and FATFS support in the CubeMX code generation tool within STM32CubeIDE. The funny thing is that those files are present in the project folder, just not in my project's folder structure in STM32CubeIDE.What I am doing wrong here? I was under the impression that the CubeMX tool was supposed to add/link these files to the project automatically. 

I have tried to install the latest CubeMX software 6.13 in silent mode. Unfortunately the installation fails with the following error code in debug mode: 'ProcessBuilder.start(): pid: 95163, dir: null, cmd: “net”'I have executed the installation with the following command: 'java -jar SetupSTM32CubeMX-6.13.0 -debug'The installation runs with version 6.12.1.I used debian bullseyeAm I doing something wrong?Kind regards

I've been struggling for a while now to start the SPI1 protocol on the Nucleo-401RE. According to the datasheet, SPI1 is connected as follows, I generated the code in CubeMX and without adding a single line of code, compiled it without any failures and uploaded it on the board. What i expected is at-least the SCK pin to generate some clock pulse when connected to a Logic analyzer or an oscilloscope. Instead i get no response. Hi everyone!I've migrated my STM32H753 project to the new CubeMX version, and after that, something went wrong with the CAN bus communication (everything worked fine before the update). The CAN functions return no errors, and messages are being sent, but they are incorrect — I'm getting a Stuff Error on the receiver side (A Stuff Error occurs when 6 consecutive bits of the same value are detected on the bus).I wonder if anyone else has encountered this issue and found a solution.

I am using the STM32H745i_DISCO board. I can't seem to get TIM8 to output on PK0. I sure the GPIO is be setup correctly, but there must be something in one of the TIM8 registers. I am attempting to use TIM8 to adjust the brightness on the LCD screen, but again can't seem make the timer output anything. I can see activity within the Timer8 upon debug. Hi,I am working on USB Device Middleware on STM32F469NI using STM32CubeMX. For our use case we have to modify the PRODUCT_STRING descriptor value (default is "STM32 Virtual ComPort"). Is it recommended to perform this, or are there any STM standards for these values? Thanks,Himanshu

Versions:STM32CubeMX 6.12.0FreeRTOS X-Cube-FREERTOS 1.1.10 (FreeRTOS Kernel 10.5.1)STM32U5 MCU Package 1.6.0Although STM32CubeMX now has support for FreeRTOS, it does not appear to recognise the FreeRTOS support (https://www.freertos.org/Security/04-FreeRTOS-MPU-memory-protection-unit) for the Cortex-M33 MPU: It also does not include mpu_wrappers.c, which means I cannot enable configENABLE_MPU in FreeRTOSConfig.h manually without also copying this from the canonical FreeRTOS kernel release.I have, in fact, manually imported mpu_wrappers.c and turned on configENABLE_MPU. Everything appears to work quite nicely.Why is this option not supported?What, if any, dragons have I unearthed by turning it on?If the there are no dragons, then clearly this is an oversight and should be included in later releases. It adds a frustrating extra step to upgrading FreeRTOS versions with CubeMX. 

Is there an IOC file available for the LwIP_HTTP_Server_Netconn_RTOS Example project? I am working with the Nucleo-144 with the STM32F439ZI. Although the example project is for the 429, it works on this board. I want to be able to use CubeMX to add more middleware to the project.Mike.

Hi, @Amel NASRI    By the way, RCC clock auto configuration is also wrong.   but result showing:   which will mess up UART baud rate ( I have to chage UART clock source to HSI to get correct UART output, the old is PCLK1), same issue as the post you linked. I want to synchronize two SAI interfaces together, but I can not select the "Synchrounous slave" option unless I enable master block in the same SAI. I Have Master enabled in the other SAI and "External Synchro out" as well. When I enable Master in the same SAI, I can even select other SAI as the Sync input. It seems like a bug, but maybe I'm missing something. Im using CubeMX 6.12.0 and STM32H563ZIT6. Thanks

I installed the latest CubeIDE hosted on a Mac to demo a NUCLEO-H755 board over USB.  Starting from a clean CubeMX code generation, I've managed to successfully create a basic application to blink the user LEDs and use the pushbutton  (along with basic use of the debugger), but I would like to be able to configure the Virtual COM Port (VCP) to use as a debugging tool before proceeding to the next step of getting the Ethernet working.  Unfortunately, I have not been able to figure out how to get the VCP to work.  In CubeMX, I have USART3 selected as the VCP with the correct pins per the schematic, but for some reason the only available selection is "disabled".  I suspect this might be because the NUCLEO board support package (bsp) is somehow controlling configuration of the VCP and not allowing changes from CubeMX.  Here are my questions:1)  Does the NUCLEO bsp automatically configure the VCP, or is there some other way to configure?2) Do the VCP (over

from one moment to another the "device configuration tool" stopped working, it no longer shows anything when opening the .ioc file, the strangest thing is that it stopped doing it on all my computers almost simultaneously, and without even having updated the IDE or something .

Hi,I want to add support for the "Opus" audio codec to my STM32H7 product. I found that ST has already developed middleware for Opus called "X-CUBE-OPUS." I expected to find it in STM32CubeMX under "Pinout & Configuration" -> "Software Packs" -> "Manage Software Pack" -> STMicroelectronics. However, I couldn't find the package there. Instead, I downloaded the package from the ST site (https://www.st.com/en/embedded-software/x-cube-opus.html#overview) and tried to add it using the "From Local" button, but I encountered an error.How should I add the middleware to my existing project? I don't need an explanation project; I just want to add the middleware to my current project.Thanks for the help.

Hi,I am trying to find a solution to support different build configurations for the same MCU but different revision of PCB builds. PCB revisions could happen because of reassignment of pins and peripherals. I am using standalone version of CubeMX to generate code. So, I will end up with two different .ioc files for each revision and when I generate code, 2 separate project files are generated.Is there a way to have a single project, but 2 different build configurations for each ioc file? Looks like CubeMX doesn't support this, but are there any tricks as a workaround ?

I'm trying to set up a MPU region to block out DCACHE from my SDMMC1 peripheral but I notice whenever a region is activiated in CubeMX, the "region start" field will not let me type any hex value in. Some red text below says that region start must ALWAYS be 0x0. So my quesitons are: 1) If region start must always be 0x0, WHY is it a text field that I can enter something into?2) Why must a region always start at 0x0? The region I want to block out from the DCACHE does not start at 0x0... I looked at some config documents for other chips (the example was an F7 i believe), and the MPU config allowed typing any hex value into the region start. I'm wondering if there's a bug here? Or maybe I just don't understand the H5 MPU enough.

I saw a short thread from 2020 that mentioned this and solved the problem by increasing the specified stack size from 350 to 512.  At the time, there was no discussion of why the auto-generated stack is too small in the first place; and I have seen no follow-on/alternate discussions (or, at least, ones I can find).FWIW, I have a theory and a suggestion for improvement...We have two builds with identical CubeMX configurations, one of which works fine and one of which breaks in that specific way -- we must increase the stack size from 350 to something bigger (we use 512).As near as we can tell the difference between the two is that one (the one that works) is built as a 'C' project using the 'C' compiler; and the other (the one that breaks) is built as a 'C++' project using the 'C++' compiler (but with no actual C++ source files in the simplified test build  -- they both use exactly the same source code and .ioc template).My theory -- and it is only a theory -- is that the 'C++

Hi,I am trying to configure the AES accelerator on STM32H523 MCU. But I couldn't find an option to configure AES engine in CubeMX. I have double checked Reference manual and I found the AES engine in the MCU ref manual. I looked at the ST HAL and the AES is defined under CRYPTO module. The only modules available under Security areRNG, PKA, HASH, and of course the Global Trust Zone GTZC. My CubeMX version is 6.13.0

Does ST publish a roadmap of features/enhancements for CubeIDE? I'd really like to know what is planned for STM32CubeIDE for the dual core H7 chips. For example, in Project Manager->Project, there is a setting "Dual Core Boot Mode", but it is greyed out. When will this be available? I'd like my CM4 to do boot initialization (for example of the RCC) rather than the CM7, but it seems this is not possible to generate out of CubeIDE right now.

Using STM32H533RE and successfully got SPI1 doing DMA transfers with HAL_SPI_Transmit_DMA() one shot at a time. As soon as I select Circular transfer and re-gen, the above function fails because a bunch of fields in my DMA_HandleType for that DMA channel are left at 0. I get a bunch of NEW inits for the DMA_NodeConfTypeDef. I decided to cut and paste the handful of items from the old HAL_SPI_MspInit() when in non-circular mode, and paste them into the circular config re-generated HAL_SPI_MspInit() and voila DMA SPI in circular mode works fine.  Is this a cube MX bug? Or am I missing something? See attached screenshots

I just started a new project with FreeRTOS on the board.When generating code via MX, there is a message about Systick configuration issue.The problem is, I cannot change the configuration about SYS and TIM.What can be the issue? What do I have to change in config?

System versions macos 15.1.1 stm32cubemx 6.13, stm32cubeide1.17. When I generate code using cubemx and select stm32cubeide in the toolchain, an Eclipse prompt box will pop up, indicating that The Eclipse executable launcher was unable to locate its companion shared library, I have replaced several recent versions of stm32cubemx, but the problem still exists. Have you encountered similar situations? Can you provide a solution? I'm almost going crazy with my Mac

Can someone please explain to me how this is even possible on the same device? They are the exact same device yet I can not seem to get the same pin config in different projects.The one project somehow got the PIN Layout where PB6(SCL) and PB7(SDA) is the I2C1 BUT on the other exact same device the I2C1 operates on PB8(SCL) PB7(SDA)?When I run the I2C1 on the PB8(SCL) PB7(SDA) config it works fine.When I run the I2C1 on the PB6(SCL) and PB7(SDA) config it does not work.When I try and reconfig my PB6(SCL) and PB7(SDA) to be PB8(SCL) PB7(SDA) then I can not set PIN8 on the AF register....

STM32CubeMx can't establish a connection when I run "Check Connection" under connection parameters.What ports do I need to have enable for the STM32CubeMx to be able to connect to the update server?
