Hello,I have a few questions regarding the use of the BlueNRG-2 deviceI am building a system where I have to send small data packets (10 bytes) from 1 unit to 10+ units. I am aware that you can only have 7 simultaneous connections, but I am wondering if there is a way to broadcast this information, and have anything that is within range receive and interpret the data. -if so, does anyone happen to have a code sample they would be willing to share?Do you need an antenna for BLE to function? The range only needs to be about 5-10ft. Other than the BlueNRG-2 module, is there any supporting circuitry that is necessary for functionality? I need this to fit on a PCB that is 12mm x 12mm so space is very limitedThanks in advance

Hello,we would like to add a charge functionality via USB PD for an USB hub. Charging should be possible for the upstream port, e.g. the host shall be charged. The tricky part is, that the charge process has to be activated and deactivated during runtime (it is a battery powered application) without interrupting the USB data communication. Is this possible with the STUSB4700/STUSB4710 ICs? If yes, what's the best way to do this? Delete all power data objects in the beginning and reconfigure them during runtime? Or is there a better way? Unfortunately we have no experience with USB PD so far and we really appreciate any help.Thanks in advance and best regards

Title somewhat covers it,I have a custom circuit based off the Blue Tile eval kit BCN002V1 board. I'm trying to flash it with the host board and the BLE_SensorDemo.hex but I'm not seeing the board pop up in the comm ports when I connect it like I would the tile. Unfortunately I don't have much more info than that. I guess my question would be is there something preloaded that allows the communication with the blue tile? Or can one communicate from a newly assembled board? Thanks in advance!

Hello Support,We selected the following TPM to design into a new product and chose the ST33HTPH20xxAHC3 part for the design. The product is a specialized Android tablet that is mounted outside conference rooms for room scheduling. We are now entering production, and with our first production run we are seeing TPM errors. Upon inspection, we found that our production run is using the same part number TPM, but it now has a 'V2' marked on the IC (see the picture at the bottom). In addition, we found the FW in the IC changed from 74.9 to 74.65. We are using the android debugger (adb) command tpm_test -g and it will sometimes return the TPM properties, and between 5% and 60% of the time (depending on the particular device), it returns an error as shown in the picture below.We would highly appreciate any information about this IC version change and FW change and help resolving this issue as our manufacturing is stopped until we have resolution. Is there a corres

I am trying to do a file transfer over ble, using 20 byte characteristics writes. I did notice that, following a write command for characteristic, the resultant aci_gatt_attribute_modified_event() doesnt get called quick enough to process the next incoming messages. (bluenrg1_events.h version V1.0.0)Herein I saw the following times the response for the write message takes 1-3 ms to me sent over to the receiver the consequent procedure complete call takes over 10- 20 ms to be received by the receiver. The blunrg1 is running at 32000000Hz. I have the following svc & characteristics details services added 4, total characteristics -13 (1+4+4+4).Also, I timed the function in the main loop running the BTLE_StackTick() &  APP_Tick() and their time utilization seems to me less than a 1ms. Is there any way the responsiveness if the stack could be increased/ optimized?Please let me know if you have any questions,

I am developing a custom board in which I want to interface a BLE chip and for that, I am looking forward to using BlueNRG-2 in my design. From what I have studied online BlueNRG chips support only SPI based interface with the Host controller. The programming guide says that the chips do support the UART interface with the Host but there is not much details about it anywhere else.I want to know whether the chip support standard HCI interface over UART or not? If yes, then is there any document available for interfacing.Hoping for a reply as soon as possible so that I can finalize my design.

I'm using the IAR(8.40.1) for flashing the code(Lightning_demo from stsw-bnrg-mesh package) using stlink. After pressing the download and debug icon i'm facing User error: Reset failed.But while flashing with BlueNRG1 ST-Link Utility, I was able to flash the code success fully.At the same time if press on the debug without downloading then i was seeing fatal error: ST-Link, No MCU device found. Could u please help me to resolve the issue.

Hi!I have a STM32F765ZITx as master and a STM32F051C8Tx board as slave that im trying to communicated with each other over IrDa. The master is sending 6 bytes (2 startbytes, 1 length of data byte, 1 databyte, 2 checksum bytes) to the slave, which works as a request that the slave is going to transmit back to master a standard reply message containing 14 bytes of data (19 byte including header and checksum). Master transmits every 100ms. My problem is that the slave is receiving the correct header every two samples. I use a RTC IC M41T83 in our prototypes and can access this RTC via I2C bus (reading and setting timestamps). Unfortunately the crystal does not start. At startup I set the ST bit to 1 (write address and write a byte via I2C) and then I set the bit to 0 again (write address and write a byte via I2C). But the crystal does not react, I have a 32kHZ crystal and a 32.768 kHz) tested with suitable capacitors 12 or 12.5 p. When I read out the flag OF afterwards it is also on (1).At the power pin and also at the battery pin (via 1k Ohm resistor) a stable operating voltage of 3V3 is available.Unfortunately I can't recognize any faults on HW and SW and I wanted to ask you if you have a sample code for implementation or if I missed a relevant point. Kindly thank you for your help with best regards from Hamburg,Thomas Bender

In hosted mode SPI or UART interfaces only noted in datasheet. But in my MCU i have I2C port only available. Looking forward your response ASAP!Thanks in advance

Hi sir/Madam,If we flashed BlueNRG2_Lighting_Demo.bin file using USB micro in STEVAL_IDB008V2 board it was provisioned. If we give commands from models, board doesn't show any change in the led, why? So that we unprovisioned node and tried to provision the node again but we are not able see those networks again in mesh app why?. could u please tell us why it is happening this way? Why it not showing ble networks in app second time?

I am using BlueNRG-Tile chip. I am configuring it as a server. And i am using ST BLE Sensor App as a master. In that i am getting all the services and characteristics displayed on App ,which I have configured at server side. My target is to get notifications of different characteristics at master side simultaneously. But I am observing that i am getting notification from one characteristic only. To get notification from another characteristic i have to disable another characteristic's descriptor. So, can you please clarify me that it is limitation of BlueNRG-Tile OR something I am missing from code side. If I am missing from code side then please let me know how to resolve it.

I have a Nucleo F767ZI, and I want to wire it to this: http://www.lcdwiki.com/2.8inch_Arduino_Display.There's a tutorial here on how to set up LTDC with an ILI9341 here: http://www.lucadavidian.com/2017/10/02/stm32-using-the-ltdc-display-controller/. But it kind of glosses over the wiring of the board pins to the display. It looks like the blogger used a Discovery board.Am I just out of luck with my particular shield that (for some reason) there's only 8 total LCD data pins, rather than 8 for each color? Would I need to send R, G and B data along the same buffer with this shield?

Is't a problem of collision, because i see this problem when S2LP try to send message and a new message is received?4- when i use mechanism of Infinite preamble as described in application note Sniff Mode application (and my chip is also in LDC mode) how i will be sure that the receiver will be wakeup? in other word, how i will be sure that my msg (not the msg of infinite preamble but the real msg) will be in the Fast RX timer of the receiver?Thanks in advance.

using BlueNRG2, I'm trying to send long packets (> 20 bytes), I added a custom service with characteristic supporting notification and indication with a size = 40 bytes. After the connection established, I send a LL_LENGTH negotiation to update the TxOctets to 40. the negotiation was done successfully but when I send a long packet, only 20 bytes were sent.I tested 2 ways, using (1) hci_le_write_suggested_default_data_length and (2) hci_le_set_data_lengthIs there any way to "unlock" the long packet sending ?

While sending more bytes of data from app to the BLE module after connection I am getting the following error-Error 13 (0xd): GATT INVALID ATTR LENHow do I increase the length so that I can send more bytes of data?

Using the DTM UART project "BlueNRG-1_2 DK 3.1.0/Project/BLE_Examples/DTM" there is a method to send data (transport_layer_send_data) available. However, the corresponding transport_layer_receive_data logic is blocked out by #ifdef and appears to only be available if using SPI as the communication method. Is anyone familiar with what logic the UART DTM uses to receive data over UART?

I need to update the pins used for UART communication by the BlueNRG-2 chip. I have found documentation that states you can update the source code as necessary. Is there any documentation on how to actually build the target .bin or .hex file after you've edited the file(s) to change pin assignments?Is there any support for this chip using VisualGDB with Visual Studio?Thank you in advance.

We are working with 2 STEVAL-BLUEMIC-1 boards, one configured as server and one configured as client. Server is located into a PVC box at about 2/3 meters from the client. We noticed that when we hold in hand the pvc box or when we interpose ourselves between the 2 boards we lose communication (disconnection event is generated). We already did some tests and we think that the problem could be the strenght of the signal. On both software we set "aci_hal_set_tx_power_level(1;7);" so the power level shoul be the maximum. We would like to know if it's possible to increment the signal strenght in some way, maybe using a more powerful antenna. The clien is directly connected to a power source, so on that side we don't care about energy saving. Have you got any suggestion on how we could increment signal strenght?Thanks
