Hi,I am trying to read data in continuous mode from the LIS2MDL on a personal board with the help of the exemple(https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/STMems_Standard_C_drivers/tree/master/lis2mdl_STdC/examples) and driver (https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/lis2mdl-pid/tree/56a8a1ddb1bd21d98151372b5fa4f48ffa9e1a39).I am able to retrieve the ID of the chip and configure it in continous mod.But the problem is that the data ready register always return 0x00.

+I'm a beginner. I used the STM32 CubeIDE to compile and used the SPI of the Nucleo-F446RE to connect to the LSM9DS1. I want to read the data of its accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer, and use the field expression function to observe it. I found that the value read by it will keep beating without moving the LSM9DS1 and my magnetometer will not respond. How many data points are necessary to build a reliable machine learning model (with mlc)? Is there a point where adding more data no longer significantly improves the model's performance?

I have to work on a project that includes an accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer. For the first two, I would like to use the LSM6DSV16X sensor, but I haven't yet chosen a magnetometer.1) Do you have any recommendations for one that would work well with the LSM6DSV16X?2) Is it possible to synchronize the sampling between the LSM6DSV16X and the magnetometer?

We are conducting research using 9 IIS2MDC sensors to detect the position of a magnetic material (e.g., N52 grade neodymium magnet). Since we expect the distance between the magnetic material and the sensors to be large, the sensors need to accurately detect the magnitude and direction of the magnetic field generated by the material. However, we have identified that the IIS2MDC sensors we are using have an error margin of approximately ±1300 mG, and we are encountering the following issues: 1. The offset indicated in the datasheet is approximately ±60 mG. However, even after completely removing the influence of the magnetic material, the initial magnetic field values measured by each sensor still range from 0 to 1000 mG. Since these initial values vary between sensors, we predict that this is not due to the Earth's magnetic field. We are curious about the possible cause of this.   2. I am working on a motion sensing device currently in production using a LIS2DH12 accelerometer and want to apply machine learning to the product. This is an older part with no machine learning core (MLC) onboard so can only provide motion data to the host processor (nrf52840) where a model might reside for inferencing motion classes.I am new to MEMS Studio so still learning about its capabilities but have looked at Edge Impulse to create models for execution on host and looks very usable. I use IAR for the IDE and it can generate linkable models within IAR projects - very convenient.My question is can I use MEMS Studio to create a model and run on the host instead of the sensor itself?- Edwin

I work for a company that has used this IMU for some of the new designs (we have currently assembled and tested +1000 units with ASM330LHH) and we have noticed that some of the units (around 10 %), are presenting a strange behaviour when subjecting them to temperature cycles, the effect has only been noticed in X and Y axes, never in Z. Here is a plot of the behaviour: The x-axis of the graphs represent the incremental samples, and the y-axis in the left-hand side represents the raw decimal number read in the 16-bit registers. The y-axis in the right-hand side is the temperature in ºC.The unit is completely static in a controlled environment, a temperature chamber. There is evidence that there has not been any physical motion during the peaks, due to the information provided by additional accelerometers in the same PCB. I'm doing a 4D orientation detection FSM on the ISM330BX. There is no example for this IMU so I'm following the examples for some of the other IMUs. That is fine and the code works, but what I can't work out is how to calculate the THRESH1 value and get it to agree with the value displayed in MEMS-Studio.As shown in the attached screenshot, 0x3A66 (14950 in decimal) is shown as 0.8 g in MEMS-Studio for the ISM330BX, but if I work it out:Value in g = 14950 x 0.000061 g/LSB = 0.913 gAny ideas on what I am misunderstanding?It doesn't really matter from a FSM perspective whether THRESH1 = 0.8 or 0.91 g but still...

I lost with all the configuration of LIS302DL and TIM4 (example code) and do I need to configure SPI1 separately??? I am trying to determine what the time is from when the Acceleration is sensed (based on the threshold) to when the Internal Interrupt (INT) is driven out on the pin.

Hello,We have been working with the LIS3DH Accelerometer on an Android 11 based device. We have Integrated the corresponding Kernel drivers and the STM Android Sensor IIO HAL.As per our understanding our Android device should be able to read values from the accelerometer and rotate the screen accordingly, but this feature is not working as expected.When enabling the debug output of the Android WindowOrientationListener I saw that the code always returns a “proposedRotation=-1�? identifier, and when doing some research, I noted that this might be caused when the accelerometer has not been calibrated.I reviewed the STM Android Sensor IIO HAL, and I noted that there is a calibration_daemon which depends on a calibration tool.Could you please explain me if this calibration tool is an external APK? And provide information about how could I enable and run the calibration_daemon?Any guidance will be highly appreciated,Thanks, and best regards,Esteban V.

Hi,I'm having trouble following how to properly setup free fall detection on the LIS2DH12. I'd like to generate an interrupt when the device goes from rest to free falling for a couple feet. The duration of the fall would be approximately 200ms. I'm a bit confused by how the combination of the INT1_CFG, INT1_THS and INT1_DURATION registers affect free-fall detection. Some questions:INT1_CFG - what are the differences in high vs low interrupt enabling? If low is enabled, does it wait for the  current reading to drop below INT1_THS threshold value for INT1_DURATION? Conversely if high is enabled, does it wait for the current reading to rise above INT1_THS threshold value for INT1_DURATION?A free-fall algorithm would typically detect three states, (1) Resting (+/- 1g on one or more axis, depending on how the chip is oriented) to initial acceleration (+/- N acceleration increase on the axis, or axes, of fall direction), (2) Initial acceleration to free fall (acceleration on axis

Hello.I have a small fan at home with STEVAL-MKI245A attached and STEVAL-MKI109V3 is near the fan as well,like you would using PROTEUS1.The fan offers 3 mechanical switches to modify the speed.Using the switches causes a stop of reading data from the sensor in MEMS Studio.I tried Linux, Windows and MacOS with STEVAL-MKI109V3 (Firmware: 3.67.1) always with a notebook detached from a power source.Sometimes under "Sensor Evaluation / Data Monitor" the message "Log data view not active at high data rate" appears, regardless which scale setting or Output Data Rate is used.Many times the Accelerometer and Gyroscope Output Data Rates are set to "Power Down" automatically,respectively register CTRL_1 and CTRL_2 are set to 0x00 and I don't know who is doing this.In this case I'm not able to write different values than 0x00.The only solution is to reset the board.I'm worried to use it in industrial environment even if it's not stable at home. 

Hi, we are using ASM330LHB. How many times we can perform self test (in static condition) for ASM330 in its lifetime? Is there any limit OR can we perform self test unlimited times? If there is any limit please mention the count.Thanks in Advance,Pavani

we are using this LSM6DSL sensor for our smart ring device. and we also implement step counter which is inside of this IC to calculate step for user, while he wears the smart ring on his finger.I'd like to know if there is any performance difference between watch and Ring in terms of step counter. Or I'd like to know if there is any case of Ring usage of this IC.

Hi,  I am looking at the LSM6DSO device, and I am unclear what the "USR_OFF_ON_WU" bit does in the "WAKE_UP_THS " register. Does this bit: Drive the Wake-Up function with offset corrected accelerometer data? 0 means not offset corrected, 1 means offset corrected?What does this have to do with High-Pass Filtered Data? Does this bit actually set whether Lowpass or Highpass information is used to drive the Wakeup Function?  Can someone please provide clarity? thanks

Hi,    I'm looking through the LSM6DSO32X datasheet, and I'm having a hard time finding out information about certain register data bits. For instance, register "WAKE_UP_THS" (0x5b) has 6 bits labelled "WK_THS[5:0]". Are these bit signed or unsigned? I assume they are unsigned, but I would appreciate confirmation.  thanks 

My team is looking at what performance data ST has on file for the ASM330LHB. Specifically ​random walk and bias stability performance of accelerometers and gyros over the entire operating temperature range (-40C to 105C).

good morning. i am actually trying to load on my an sd card my data of the sensor tile.box. Unfortunately, I only get blank tables with only the top written. I uploaded a configuration to make it and then uploaded as seen on those photos. am I missing anything?i have also a question on those parts of the application, I do not know what they are made for and they are only in this program:
