ST moderator: Edited the tile to add "ADC" I want to extract data at high sampling frequency ~10KHz at STM32N6570-DK, Is it possible with USART for three channels or we have any other mode for this purpose. I want to continuously stream data at 10KHz sampling frequency.

Hi, I am struggling with TIM2 to restart its CNT from zero without using hal. I am using nucleo-f446 TIM2 clock frequency is 21MHz (no prescaler, 1/4clock division) CNT set for upcounting. I want to use TIM2 to write a simple us_delay function, so I need to restart its CNT  whenever us_delay is called. No matter what I do, I can't make it work, here is the code I am using: TMR2_Start = 1; //start counter TMR2_URS = 1; //Only counter overflow/underflow sets UIF bit TMR2_UDIS = 1; //disable update event generation TIM2->ARR = 2100; //set 100us delay (tim2 clock frequency = 21MHz) TMR2_UDIS = 0; //enable update event generation TMR2_UG = 0x1; //restart counter while (TMR2_UIF == 0){ //wait until TMR2_UIF is set } I put a breakpoint right before while loop is executed, I can see that CNT is enabled, URS set, delay value loaded to ARR. However CNT is not reset to zero, it has a random value, sometimes as high as 0x1A9C, plus the UIF and the Capture/Compare flags are all set for unkn

Heyho, just found that the N6 has gigabit ethernet - which might help me staying away from the monstrous MPUs... :D Is there kinda compatibility list between the STM32 families for the peripherals? ethernet interface, surely different HW concerning GbE vs 100M, but maybe the registers / descriptors work basically the same? CANFD and the SAIs? OCTOSPI / XSPI with memory-mapped HyperRam?  the (partly) more simple peripherals like ADC, timers, UART? Merci!

Hi, I am trying to establish CAN communication between three different MCUs: NUCLEO-H723ZG, NUCLEO-H755ZIQ, and NUCLEO-G474RE. However, I am unable to successfully communicate between the boards, even though the same baud rate has been configured on all MCUs. I have also connected an external CAN transceiver to each board for proper CAN bus operation. On the NUCLEO-G474RE, I have enabled UART4 to send command data, using the following pins: PC11 – UART4_RX PC10 – UART4_TX Clock Frequency [SYSCLK] & Baud Rate [CAN]: 1. NUCLEO-H723ZG: 550 MHz     Baud Rate: 500000 Bit/s     2. NUCLEO-H755ZIQ: 480 MHz     Baud Rate: 500000 Bit/s     3. NUCLEO-G474RE: 170 MHz     Baud Rate: 500000 Bit/s    

On AN4879, STM32N6 is marked as Type E (Universal serial bus full-speed host/device interface) But actually it has 2 HS OTG with phy as high-end line up (2* Type D)  

Hi!In version 4 of the reference manual for STM32U0, it is suggested that BOR is enabled and on Level 3 from the factory.Is that correct?I'm currently working on an construction running @ 2V, so it would never start up, if so. Hello, rm0456 in chapter 33.4.8. talks about "Software procedure to calibrate the ADC" and "Extended calibration mode" on some products. It is not clear, if "Software procedure to calibrate the ADC" is enough for products with "Extended calibration mode" or  if extended procedure should be done always when available?Please clarify! Thanks

We have both a very RAM constrained and space constrained board.  So the OctoFlash chips are larger then i would like.     So being able to XIP off a spi flash that only has 4 SPI lanes would be very helpful.  I just don't know the ramifications of something like this.    If we have like 200 Mhz chip flash Chip, in spi 1-4-4.  Will this cause a significant delay?  I'm guessing all these instructions get loaded directly into the instruction cache which is only a few KB of storage.       If you think this is a valid option.  Does ST have any parts for this?  If I use a different Flashchip.  Will i have a hard time programming it with the standard ST?   Related question * Limitations of flash 

is there a way to search for which stm32h7 mcus have integrated HS usb phy?the mcu finder product selector doesn't have such filter, is there an app note, a product brief or anything like that?How is one supposed to find such a controller? (besides manually checking all of them)Sometimes this is the main and only selection criteria. I didn't even know that such a feature even exists.I just stumbled uppon when i saw that the stmlink v3 has high speed usb but doesn't use an external usb phy. 

Hi, I'm designing the board for STM32H755IIK6. My power supply plan is SMPS + LDO, since I want to use 480MHz speed.  I wonder if there are better recommendations about 2.2uF VCAP placement. There are three VCAP pins, but two 2.2uF capacitors are instructed to use in reference design. On the other hand, capacitors should be placed near VCAP pins. So how to place two capacitors near three pins A4, A14 and R13? It looks like MB1520 does not have capacitor near A14. Is that correct implementation?

When I write code, should I keep the microcontroller on, or turn it off and only turn it on when I want to test the code?

Why is it that when I set the clock frequency of the STM32 to a high frequency (180 MHz), the code will crash, but when I set it to a low frequency (72 MHz), the code can run normally?

Hello,    Developing a firmware to update the application via Bootloader over USART2. But, the STM32U5G9BJYXQ is not responding on 0x7F. The MCU is successfully starts from the NSBOOTADD1(0x0bf90000) on driving the BOOT0 pin high while deasserting the reset. The USB-USART tool is sending a proper 0x7F, verified by oscilloscope. Please point to what I might be missing.   

We have a design that has been working fine for some time now using STM32G071CBT6 in LQFP48 but a new batch is suddenly failing with ADC readings from VREFINT that are quite a way out of spec.Previous versions have always been slightly low - reading maybe ~3.15v on a ~3.25v supply voltage but that's always been "close enough", but now the latest batch of devices are dipping below 3.0v on the same ~2.35v supply and triggering our under-voltage detection.We are monitoring a few voltages using the ADC, including the supply voltage which is commoned with VDD/VDDA, VBAT and VREF pins - decoupling is per the power supply scheme shown in the datasheet DS12232.VREFBUF is disabled.Since we are not worried too much about absolute accuracy, we are not running the calibration routine on the ADC.System clock is 16MHz and ADC sampling is 79.5 cycles, ADC resolution is 12 bit.The ground pin is solidly grounded, supply voltage going into the pins is ~3.25v and I can't see any significant current being

We are using an STM32G070 with 64 Pins.The clock comes from an external 32,...kHz crystal. For clock calibration, we enable the RTC calibration output PC13.Whenever this is active, reading the state of the input PA4 always returns false, although we activated the pullup. Measuring the pin gives us the expected 3.3VDisabeling the calib output makes PA4 readable again. We compared the PA4 port setting with/without calib-output, they are always the same. Do you know about this issue? I found an errate entry concering PC13, but not our situation. Best regards,Peter

Hi,On the STM32H563 Nucleo, I was able to flash an application using the UART bootloader.However, the application does not execute when triggered with the GO command.If BOOT0 is pulled low, the same firmware runs successfully.But Go command executes properly but the firmware is not runningThe firmware i am trying is led blinking application

So i have the stm32G0 usb-c disco board. https://www.st.com/en/evaluation-tools/stm32g071b-disco.html   I've flashed the latest USBPD_Analyzer software on the device and i have the latest UCPD monitor project.    The semi problem is that it's kind of frustrating that in SPY MODE by default the mico doesn't show as a USB device.  I only see the usb micro usb connection when i'm in Snk Mode.  Is there a reason why in spy mode the USB connection to the PC from the micro doesn't show up?   So what i have to do is.  Start in Snk mode.  Connect to the PC via the micro usb connector and connect to the UCPD monitoring program.  Then i can switch to SPY MODE then i can attach my devices to it.  Which can kind of be flakey some times.      

Greetings, I am looking for pointers to material describing recommended ways to interact with built-in flash memory for general data reading and writing.DS9716 indicates there are several memory-mapped regions that could suffice, but maybe block 6 (starting at 0xC000 0000) seems like a safe bet, since it is "Not used"?Since this is for data storage and retrieval only, not instruction storage and retrieval, is there any need to mark the region of memory in some way in the loader script?Also, I noticed the HAL functions have some flash-based functions (UM1725) - there is some good info in there but again I'm not sure what memory target would be best for these functions.Apologies if this has been written up somewhere already. I see several "lab" type resources on the web for demonstrating how to do this, but I haven't seen a recommended practice in the official documentation or the knowledge bases here.
