Hello, I currently have an IAR Embedded Workbench 8.22 dongle license, but this version does not support STM32G4 since the MCU series was introduced later. Upgrading to a newer IAR version is not an option due to budget constraints, but functional safety compliance is required for my project. I am looking for possible solutions: Is there any way to manually add STM32G4 support to IAR 8.22 ?Does ST provide any legacy support package or workaround for using STM32G4 with older IAR versions?Has anyone successfully compiled STM32G4 projects in IAR 8.22 without upgrading, and if so, what steps were needed?Any guidance, alternative approaches, or ST-provided solutions would be greatly appreciated. I searched about STM32H563 maximum current consumption of AD converter when run mode on datasheet and reference manual.I could't find AD converter's maximum current consumpsion on datasheet and reference manual.I want to consider external LDO for VDDA by AD converter's maximum current consumption.Please advise for me.

I am trying to implement authenticate a device from flashing new code from unauthorized user using ST-SAFEA1. only a valid user can flash new code in DFU mode using USB peripheral.Issue is I am can't be able to authenticate the device and generate public and private key to make handshake with USB peripheral.

Hello guys, recently I designed a PCB board using STM32H743IIT6 and I encounter a problem when I try to run code in sdram. The details are described as below.​question: I have a demand jumping to run a user program(function) in the sdram. But after I copy the user program(function) from norflash to sdram and move PC to run, I get hard fault exception. I have no idea whether there is some special configuration before running code in sdram, but I have successfully run a user program in sdram on STM32F429 after a special remap as described in STM32F429 RM. After reading the STM32H743 RM, there is no special operation for running code in sdram. What I read is a remap description about sdram and no other comment. ​

Hi, I have developed a circuit using STM32h755zi, i am sending some serial data from a custom board to PC using USB CDC class. It works fine when i use a Type C to Type A cable but when i try to run the board using a Type C to Type C cable it only runs for a few ms, where my PC detect the device, after this the communication shuts down. It can even send some characters before shutting down. My microcontroller is still running as i can still make LEDs blink after the communication shutdown. I am running USB in FS mode. What might be the reason for this behaviour.Thanks,Kiran

Hi!I have a custom STM32H753ZIT6 MCU based board for which I am using SWD in order to bootload/program the MCU. To interface the SWD to either the STLINK or other programming modules similar to it, does anyone have any recommendation on what connect to use. From my research I have seen TC2030 being used in few designs but that is fairly expensive connector to interface with STLINK. Do you have any recommendation on what connector I could incorporate in my designs. I had an idea to have 10 pin female header connector with similar pitch to what stlink has as I observed the pinouts for SWD are on one side of 20 pin connector, could be a *** idea, if you have some better alternative please recommend.

Hello,I have written a Flash bootloader for the STM32H743 for our custom application PCB. In a nutshell, the flash bootloader check an external flash memory IC with SPI on the custom application PCB if there is a new image to be flash and do it if it has to. Then it computes the CRC and boot the application.In the linker script, the application resides at 0x08000000, and the flash bootloader at 0x081E0000. I use the options bytes BOOT_CM7_ADD0 to set the boot address at the flash bootloader 0x081E. The flash bootloader is at the last sector of the flash bank 2.Technically, this would mean that my application can take up as much as (2 MB - 128 kB). I would like my application to take all this space and be able to replace it when required by the bootloader.The flash bootloader works perfectly with image below 900 kB. Please keep that in mind, my code isn't total garbage.However, when I try to flash a bigger image than about 900 kB, the bootloader cra

I am stumped and frustrated. I wrote some test code to test UART4. It worked fine. Then I moved the test code over to my main project and now I get no UART interrupts. Both code sets run on the same hardware. Good day folks, I trust you are well.I am interfacing with a APMemory 256Mbit RAM (APS256XXN-OBR) via the 16 way XSPI.The RAM registers can be configured correctly at 100MHz, as well as the whole 256 Mbits can be accessed via Mmap.For Configuration I am using the `APS256_ReadReg()` and `APS256_WriteReg()` functions as provided by theXSPI_PSRAM_MemoryMapped example.By default the RAM supports a maximum of 133MHz, which is why I am using 100MHz on powerup.

I have a custom PCB with the STM32G431 microcontroller and ESP32 controller. ESP32 is connected to STM via GPIO pins in order to perform firmware upgrade using STM32 bootloader protocol. Connection are as follows:ESP32 UART TX <-----> STM32 UART RX (PC11)ESP32 UART RX <-----> STM32 UART TX (PC10)ESP32 GPIO <-----> STM32 RESET pinESP32 GPIO <-----> STM32 BOOT0 pin ESP32 controller triggers the STM32 bootloader entering sequence using RESET, BOOT0 pins and sending start byte 0x7F. The problem is that with STM32G431 the ESP32 does not receive ACK (nor anything else). When I soldered STM32G474 on that PCB, everything worked fine (ESP got the ACK and was able to execute bootloader commands). I checked AN2606 and AN3155 to interface bootloader communication. For me it seemed that both microcontrollers (STM32G474 and STM32G431) are compatible to communicate with bootloader, unfortunately they are not.

Hii, I'm new to embedded systems. I have the B-G474E-DPOW Discovery kit with STM32G474RE MCU and I implemented the peak current mode Buck converter(HW) as described in the application note of stm. The only thing that I cannot understand is how exactly the sawtooth generator is implemented.The DAC input is the demand current extracted from 2p2z controller(FMAC out). As it described in the application this is the initial value of the sawtooth waveform, but we should also set Vramp (e.g. 0.5V).What exactly is the purpose of Vramp and why in the oscilloscope the sawtooth wave starts from Vramp value instead from converted Demand current(DAC out)?

Hi all,I'm developing a composite USB device on USB OTG port on a board based on STM32F429 chip.The device has two interfaces: a custom device + a CDC device. I'm using USB_Device_Library code.Windows host correctly shows 3 items: the composite device, the generic USB device with my custom label/name, a virtual serial port (COM8).As test when I open the virtual port (by Putty) I see the three-linee welcome message and a prompt.When I press a key on the terminal, the code is sent to the device by a BulkOut packet and the device, if the code is different from 0x0d, echoes the code by a BulkIn packet.This is OK til I press the nine-th character on  the keyboard: as echo of this character I see garbage on the terminal.Dumping the memory of the internal buffers I see that the device received the correct code and replied 1 byte with the correct code!If I sniff the usb channel with WireShark I see a 7-bytes packet on Bul

Hi @Peter BENSCH I am using the controller STM32G491MCT controller for my development project.I am running out of GPIO pins.I am planning to use PC13 to drive the level translator SN74LV4T125 for sending serial clock and data signals from my master device to the slave module. It is given in the datasheet that there is some limitations in the PC13,PC14 & PC15 pins which cannot be used for driving high speed signals.Could you please confirm that can I use the PC13 for driving level translator?Anticipating the earliest response!Thanks in advance

Hi,We're in the process of developing a new board and I've got a question about USB.We would like to have a USB device with MSC only.Can we not activate the UCPD and work with the TCPP01-M12 FLT, DB CC1 and CC2 signals at ground (as on the STM32U545 eval kit)?At the moment, I can't get the USB to work without the UCPD enabled on the NUCLEO-U575ZI-Q board.
