STM32CubeIDE (MCUs)

Hi.I have recently encountered a problem that I'm not capable of solving in for a few hours now.I'm using STM32F042K6T6 as a uC and, when I try to debug my projet, it shows me the following errors:Failed to execute MI command:target remote localhost:2331Error message from debugger back end:Remote communication error. Target disconnected.: No error.Failed to execute MI command:target remote localhost:2331I'm trying to fix those problems for a few hours, but with no succes.Can someone help me solve me this?Also I'm using J-LINK as a debugger.Best regards 

This may be such a basic question, that I may be embarrassing myself here. Not even sure if I've selected the best fitting location...I like to keep a "clean slate" when compiling, that is, no warnings should be present. It makes it easier to see if a problem has occurred, if I don't need to remember how many warnings are to be expected in a certain piece of firmware. Also, if I get too comfortable with a number of warnings being present, something may slip.Now, in microcontrollers, we sometimes need to read something from a register, without actually needing the value for anything, such as emptying an SPI receive buffer after transmitting. In some cases, I use a variable that already exists, and is in use elsewhere, but this is not always practical. And then I get the "variable set but not used" warning.I don't want to suppress the warning type altogether, because it does come in handy now and then.There is the possibility to declare a global variable for this purpose, as the compiler

I'm highly confused. Coming from Keil MDK, I really enjoyed the CMSIS-Pack approach to manage dependencies. A MCU (and vendor) independent and efficient approach which works in command line and various IDEs (Keil MDK, VSCode with plugin, Eclipse). See Arm Keil Microcontroller Development Kit (MDK) Getting Started Guide, Arm Keil | CMSIS Packs, CMSIS: Introduction, and Arm Keil | Arm CMSIS.The key advantage was that there's a global config file to define all dependencies (like CMSIS-Core vxxx, or BSP, etc) in a certain version and then the package manager downloads these packages on demand. There's no need to check in all libraries/dependencies into the source control or add them to the source tree at all - they are just linked automatically.Now that the ST packages all use CMSIS, why do all examples contain hundreds of MB of libraries that could be installed via a package manager? Hi, I'm going crazy over here because the stm32cubeIDE closes itself a few seconds after loading. Literally, I double-click on the icon, the program comes up, and sometimes after 5, 10, or 20 seconds, it closes itself. After cloasing a small window appears, I attach a picture of it. I have uninstalled all ST software I had on my PC, installed it again, installed the last versions and previous versions, updated to the last version of Win 10, but nothing works. Cube MX works fine, but the only issue is with this software. I have used the IDE on my PC for more than 3 years now with no issue. I searched for a log file with no luck, Does anybody know where it hides? Is there a log file?Any help will be appreciated.  

Hello I have answer in other post that shows  a solution but it didn't work, I am looking for a different or better solution than uninstalling and erasing the keys of the registers. I have copied repository and workspace folders from an older computer that the IDE works normally. I don't know if that can be the problem.I am adding few LOGs I got. 

Originally a reply to this, but is a separate discussion.I've been playing with build configurations, working set, etc, for a while.I know it's Eclipse and CDT's fault, not STM's. But it's SOOOOOOOO confusing, and there must be a solution. So far, I've created "things", mostly empty, useless "things" : Build Targets, Working Sets, etc. None cause a build to behave as expected.Which is : having multiple "thing" "target" "thingies", each one using its own linker script (and why not, later at some point, specific .h/.c files). And being able to build one, or another, to get different FWs, each one using its own FLASH ORIGIN settings. Better even would be : one build, multiple FWs, each one in its own folder using its own linker script.What's behind : OTA. As far as I understood, the linker script is the only place where a FW get its boot address. So far, when I build a FW #2, flash it in the second flash bank, the MCU boots the FW #1 from the first flash bank as long as the linker script

Hello,I'm starting a dual-core project .But how do I add a driver in project tree under CM7 in the directory MyProject\CM7\Drivers\STM32H7xx_HAL_Driver?I have copied (manually) stm32h7xx_hal_pcd and stm32h7xx_ll_usb drivers into this directory MyProject\Drivers\STM32H7xx_HAL_Driver (Inc and Src).So, on disk and in the Project Explorer, I can see those in MyProject\Drivers\STM32H7xx_HAL_Driver.However, in de Project Explorer, in CM7, I find files in MyProject\CM7\Drivers\STM32H7xx_HAL_Driver, except the ones I added in the previous directory. On disk I see no files in MyProject\CM7\Drivers\STM32H7xx_HAL_Driver.Are those somehow linked in the project?How can I do that? I dragged the files from the first directory into the second and selected 'Link to files'.But that doesn't work, the compiler complaines it misses the files.Hard copying them on the disk to the second directory works, but it seem ugly.Does anybody know the correct way to do it. Is this th

I'm working with an ONNX model on the STM32F746NGHx board and have generated the code accordingly. However, I'm facing a problem with the function 'aiSystemPerformanceProcess'.Initially, I encountered an error in the 'cyclesCounterInit' function, which I managed to fix by modifying the while loop. Unfortunately, I'm now stuck at the 'aiSystemPerformanceProcess' function and I'm unable to step into it using the debugger.I've attached the IOC file for reference. As someone with limited experience with peripherals, I would greatly appreciate any guidance or suggestions on how to proceed.Thank you in advance for your help!

Hello everyone.I'm starting to work with ST .Working on nucleo-g071rb.I watched the videos.I turned on an LED and managed to send a string on the UART.I'm trying to define an array or variables and I can't.I worked in a different environment, Atmel's codvizion.Apparently the syntax is different.I work in the C language.How can I learn to define variables from arrays and such...My project is supposed to have buttons. Turn on LEDs accordingly. Hi All,I am working on a project in CubeIDE workspace 1.17.0 and am having issues with my custom application source files not being indexed properly. My new files are being included in the build properly and the code from them is running, but the files in the editor remain purely "gray" text and lack the ability to jump to function defs/decs through them. I have tried restarting the IDE as well as using the Project->C/C++ Index options in the menu. Thanks in advance! 

This error pops up when I try to log in to myst account, but I have no problems with my internet and this has not happened when I used it a few days ago.It just appeared today.Looking for a solution in the forums didn't work either.

I'm using STM32CubeIDE to develop a FreeRTOS application. Sometimes FreeRTOS reports stack overflow for a task at run time.STM32CubeIDE's Static Stack Analyzer is very useful for analyzing the problem. Even so, I would prefer avoiding the problem at compile time. I need the compile tools to report a warning when a task function's maximum stack usage exceeds a value.Is Static Stack Analyzer implemented in STM32CubeIDE, or is it implemented in a standalone tool like gcc/objdump/readelf? How to enable the warning if a function's maximum stack usage exceeds a value, either via graphic or command line option? Thanks very much.

I had  a problem installing STM32CubeIDE v 1.17.0 on a Ubuntu PC. During the installation, it seems to demand <carriage return> into --more-- after every line of the licence agreement. This is utterly painful - there are hundreds of lines, and you have to check at every --more-- in case you have got to the end, and you inadvertantly type yet another <CR> and abort the installation. Surely this *** modus operandi can be improved. Meantime, has anybody got a workaround?  

I eventually managed (I think) to install CubeIDE 1.17.0. When I run it (under Ubuntu), all I get when I choose HELP is a black screen. Not very HELPful. Perhaps I didn't include the help system in my installation options? Perhaps HELP doesn't work under Ubuntu? Has anybody else experienced this? Has anybody got a solution? 

I am putting together a project for the U031 Nucleo board based on the DAC signal generation example project. From the configuration page I have added SPI, as well as TIM2 and the other required drivers (DAC, DMA, EXTI, TIM1). When it generates code, it looks like everything is there in way of configuration but stm32u0xx_hal_spi.c is not included in the drivers to be compiled. When I try to build the project the HAL_SPI_INT function cannot be found. It seems to find all the correct header files and the configuration in stm32u0xx_hal_config.h is correct and SPI is defined but it is not included in the make. It shows all the other required drivers in the driver directory but not spi.  The stm32u0xx_hal_spi.c and stm32u0xx_hal_spi_ex.c files are both in the same project folder with all the other drivers. I have checked the auto generated submake files and spi is not listed. If I build an example with just SPI then the driver is included. Originally I had the proje

Using CubeIDE 1.16.0. and Cmake. I am able to build no problem because i added that "libraries" folder to CmakeListBut CubeIDE is not able to see them, i cannot Ctrl+click into them :(Maybe i need to update manually the path in project>properties?

Hello,I have two NUCLEO-STM32H7S3L8 boards and would like to use them to test things for one of my projects. Unfortunately, the documentation is somewhat sparse, and only the absolute necessary is explained. I started with the XIP template to keep things simple, but I'm not able to get it to run on the boards.If I start to debug the "Appli" I get this error:I followed the description in AN6101  for the debugger setup, but it doesn't work.Is there any description of what needs to be downloaded to the MCU and in which order? Also, I got little warning signs on my icons for the "Boot" project and the "ExtMemLoader" project, and nobody can explain what that means.Can anyone please explain how to get started with the NUCLEO-STM32H7S3L8 board?  

Fresh installation of CubeIDE 1.17.0 on Windows 11.Attempting to program U585 IoT kit following instructions here: https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus/getting-started-with-stm32u5-iot-discovery-kit-and-aws/ta-p/49682The project builds (with some warnings), but when I attempt to flash with run->run it immediately bails with the error:Failed to start GDB serverError launching GDB server. Session terminatedCannot run program ""${stm32cubeide_openocd_path}\openocd"": Code 0x10b: The directory name is invalid.This appears to be the default path in the run configuration (and the debug configuration) - problem is I have no idea of the value of the env var stm32cubeide_openocd_path - and whether it does contain a bad path.I had expected this would "just work" - would be very grateful for any pointers.  Hopefully it's something straightforward. Hi,I am new to the STM32 platform. As for research purpose I got myself the B-L462E-CELL1 board. I need to connect to the internet and send sensor data to AWS IoT Core. I tried to explore the STM32CubeExpansion_CELLULAR package to change the code according to my need. In that process I am lost. Can anyone guide me on which file should I focus on changing the code? This is too much to code to start with. I have already checked the cellular wiki but it wasn't very helpful to me. I wanted to change the .ioc file and configure the pins for my sensor but i can not open it (SS attached). Any suggestions on how to fix it? I have tried renaming the Prj_B_L462E_CELL01.ioc file to 'STM32CubeExpansion_CELLULAR_V6.0.0.ioc' but that also shows the same error. Thanks and Regards,SSWM

Hello, I just imported a shared project from DevOps and I had to change some absolute paths to project relative paths in Project Properties-C/C++ General-Paths and Symbols-Includes.Now I am still facing some errors like: "...No such file or directory".When I check the folder where the file that generates this error is located, I see it does not have the same settings that I just set before in Paths and Symbols.
