STM32CubeIDE (MCUs)

Hi, How to put the software breakpoints in the STM32 Cube IDE. I can put only the hardware breakpoints. The hardware breakpoints has a limitation of maximum 5. We can use multiple software breakpoints in the STM8 Chips with ST Visual Development IDE or Renesas Chips CS+ IDE. Help me out of this problem....      Kind Regards, Nishanth M

Updating the program, even for a minor revision like moving from version 1.16.0 to version 1.16.1, the address of the firmware repository is reverted back to the standard.Due to hard disk space limitation I've changed it to a different location, how can I keep it in the preferences without the need to go and manually change it every time I update?It is a bit annoying, because last time, for example, I dowloaded twice the Firmware packages that I already had but in a different location.Thank you very much for the help. 

Hi,While trying to open a project inside a workspace the CubeIDE stopped loading:As you can see from the log, nothing happen after a while, CPU isn't used at all, and my OS gives me the option to exit the application. You can also see a drop in RAM using. The IDE just stucks at that point. Any ideas?  

Hi, I have an issue with my Nucleo-F446RE. There is a big project from my client, I already download it to target and it runs perfectly fine. But on tomorrow, when I perform a download of my Test project to the target, then I re-download the project of my client. The IDE still not appear any error and inform download complete but the target cannot get the download anymore, there is still my Test project in the board. But the strange thing is, I try to download another project and it still fine, so just my client's project has problem. But it is still can download before.So do anyone meet this situation before? Please help!!

 Hi: I have a code written with ST Cube IDE 1.6.1. I need to add a new characteristic, but with the latest version (1.16.1), the code doesn't compile well.On this link  there is an option to download older versions:https://www.st.com/en/development-tools/stm32cubeide.htmlbut it is impossible to download the version that I need. After this screen, nothing happens.Is it possible to send me a link via email to download it ?Regards  

Hi,I am fairly new to the CI/CD processes. I am currently trying to use Bitbucket to run a pipeline to build my STM32CubeIDE project. I have set up the project on Windows in the STM32CubeIDE, I have then setup a pipeline using the image circutor/stm32cubeide from DockerHub (https://hub.docker.com/r/circutor/stm32cubeide).To first test this Docker image, I am using WSL to run the docker container and jump into it. Once in the container I am cloning my repo and running the command:/opt/stm32cubeide/stm32cubeide -nosplash -application org.eclipse.cdt.managedbuilder.core.headlessbuild -import . -build allIt looks to generate the makefiles in the Debug and Release folders, but it fails. The project is using a STM32WB15CCU. Hi. I'm trying to create a software package using Open CMSIS-pack standard which is documented at https://open-cmsis-pack.github.io/Open-CMSIS-Pack-Spec/main/I want to include multiple components from different sources and I want each component to show it's own license rather then the top level license file. according to https://open-cmsis-pack.github.io/Open-CMSIS-Pack-Spec/main/html/pdsc_licenseSets_pg.html it's possible to add a licenseSet attribute to each component inside the pack. and the packchk tool that is provided by cmsis pack verifies the pack structure. however, when I try to install the pack in stm32cubeIDE, it shows this error:Why am I getting this error?Is there any way that this can be fixed? Kind Regards,Milad.

Good morning everybody,I try to print in the console by using a ST-link 2 with SWD howerver I can't do it. I watached these 2 videos : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPzQ5CniWtw & https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqrUAzjJ0twHowever I still can do it. My problem is when I press the "start race", it becomes red, but when I resume in the debugger, the red light disapears. Thanks in advanceHere the different parameters that I put.  

Hello,I'm currently trying to select the STM32H503CBU6 MCU in STM32CubeIDE, but I keep encountering the following error message:"The target device 'STM32H503CBUx' is currently not supported by STM32CubeIDE."Could anyone provide guidance on why this device is not supported and if there are any workarounds or updates that could enable its use in the IDE?Thank you in advance!Eliran

Hi All,I have a Makefile based project that I imported to CubeIDE. I am able to build it smooth, however when i am trying to launch a debug window I am not able to see the source code and it only shows 2 buttons saying "View Disassembly" and Preferences tab.Unlike the one's shown online I am not getting an option to load the source file by browsing my file system. What am I doing wrong and how to load this??The below is my debugger view (I put a breakpoint at Reset_Handler hence the halt) Please help me with the problem as it's very hard to debug with the assembly view. please note the view is not loading when the function is entering C files too, i.e., from Reset Handler the PC jumps to SystemInit which here is a C file but even for that I am not able to see the load.Thanks

I have recently picked up an old project which was build by a developer who has left the company.  For various security and compliance reasons, I need to know which specific libraries are linked to the project.  I can see from the project properties and the makefile, that it is using arm-gnu-toolchain 13.1, but this contains a lot of libraries and my customer needs to know which specific libraries are linked into the binary.  Can anyone point me towards how I can find this information?I am using STMCubeIDE 1.16.0.  Though I do not believe that this was the original version used to build the project. (To say that documentation is a bit sparse would be generous!)

Hi AllI need to access the firmware ID of an STM32H563, while the ICACHE is enabled.  As discussed at https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-products/stm32h563-hard-fault-when-trying-to-read-uid/td-p/584571 this requires setting the memory area as non-cacheable via the Memory Protection Unit.I'm trying to do this via the ioc configuration in STM32CubeIDE, using a Nucleo-H563ZI boardAs the firmware ID is held in a region starting at 0x08FFF800, I expected to set 0x08FFF800 as the MPU region start address (that is what is shown in another user's screenshot on the other post).  But the configuration UI says "MPU Region Base Address must be 0x0." and it will not allow any other value to be set.Could somebody please advise on how I set the 12 bytes starting at 0x08FFF800 as non-cachable ?ThanksNic

Hi, I realize I may be teaching Grandma to suck eggs here but I'm a relative newcomer to the STM32 ecosystem and I thought I could maybe help others out with a similar level of experience. Due to the sheer amount of documentation available for ST Microelectronis products, it's easy to find yourself browsing, downloading and storing a ton of PDF files (often duplicated over several locations on your drive) when you are working with multiple MCU's.The way I have resolved the mess of documentation on my system is to create folders with all my PDF docs - on a board by board or board Series-xx basis - in it.  I then create a shortcut of the document folder within the project folder of the CubeIDE project I happen to be working on.  To be able to open any of the linked docs form within the IDE, the next step is a must! I'm working with stm32h743 MCU on a custom board by myself and stm32cubeide after i generate code without even adding a semicolon to code i build it i get undefined reference for many functions like FreeRTOS,Ethernet and etc and its better to know i configured same configuration for stm32f407vgt6 but everthing was ok also im using stm32cubide 1.16.1

In the STM32CubeIDE predecessor (Atollic IDE) it was possible to set the page size allocation for malloc.Is this somehow also possible in the STM32CubeIDE?Is my understanding correct, that this page size will be reserved from the RAM by the sbrk() function. Then the malloc gets the needed size from this buffer. As soon as there is no longer enough space, the sbrk() functions gets another block?Kind regardsMathias

Hello. I am currently developing a project on an STM32F429ZI board using the STM32CubeIDE tool, and I have encountered an issue. When configuring a project in the STM32CubeIDE environment, the code is generated through the code generator, and the compiler used is "arm-none-eabi-gcc." However, I want to generate code using a different compiler instead of the default one. Currently, STM32CubeIDE version 1.16 supports GNU7 or higher compilers, but I need to use an older version of the compiler. Is there a way to achieve this?

I have a STM32G474 mcu that i am learning to program. I have the CANBUS tx on PA12 working by loopback mode. I have connected my logic analyzer and i receive the data correctly.There is only one thing wrong: The ID has bit1 that keeps being set to 1. So if i would give the adress0x200 (0b0010 0000 0000) it outputs 0b0110 0000 0000)0x100 (0b0001 0000 0000) it outputs 0b0101 0000 0000) Anyone with idea's how this is possible?Thanks!
