Hi AllHope everyone is well,Im working on a large and expensive project that requires dual core processing, therefore prior to committing to the cost of my project I created a custom dev board  to ensure I can achieve what is required for my project.My dev board I am soldering components using stencil and reflow plate. The Chip connects to Cube PRG and runs code I uploadWhen powering my board via USB (5v VBUS) the STM32 is getting extremely hot (Burn your finger hot), I have checked the following. 1. VCAP and VCAPDSI tied to GND via 2.2UF CAPS2. Don't appear to have any bridges across pins / pads , iv checked under microscope.3. Board is drawing current of 1.2amps when using USB.4. I am getting continuity between 3.3v and VCAP pins, which suggest I have a short, I can only think maybe a bridge on the rear of the pins that I cannot see.5. Hello,I am attempting to program many devices (~15-30) using the built-in USB DFU on the STM32U585 in parallel. Using the STM32CubeProgrammer CLI (v2.17.0), I am running the following command to connect the devices:–-connect port=usb sn=<DFU serial number>I am performing device programming in a threaded-manner such that each device is put into USB DFU mode and connected to/programmed in parallel. To create the DFU serial number, I first obtain the 96-bit MCU UUID, combine the first and third 32-bit sections, then concatenating the first 4 MSB of the second section. For example, given UUID 00580027 3331500b 20333153Combining 0x00580027 and 0x20333153 yields 0x208B317AThen concatenating the first 4 MSB of 0x3331500b yields 0x208B317A3331The resulting DFU serial number 0x208B317A3331 is in line with the DFU serial number detected within STM32CubeProgrammer as well the serial number detected within the USB

I have been working recently on a board that i have made for a flight computer. But unfortunately, I have encountered some problems while programing the board.The conection to the board works great, and I´m able to upload de code and read it. The Issue comes when I try to make the code run that the board does not do anything. The G491KCU6 part has 256 KB flash. The G4A1KEU6 has 512 KB. Ref man (Table 1) hasNo mention of 256 KB G491 part. Is it category 4?

Hello,I am building and application with a STM32U575 and a 4Gb NAND Flash. What I am trying to achieve now is to upload files from my PC through USB and then used these file within the STM32 using FileX.I already managed to set up FileX and LevelX to create and manipulate files within the MCU. Then I managed to get a USBX MSC device to appead in windows, with correct capacity, name etc..Finally I tried to implement the read/write functions in ux_device_msc.c by using the FileX function fx_media_read and fx_media_write. And not I have some issues in the wrinting method.If I implement the read function "USBD_STORAGE_Read" only, leaving the write function empty, everyting works fine. I am able to find and read my files from windows.From the moment I implement the USBD_STORAGE_Write function, nothing works anymore. In this configuration, the USB MSC apprears in windows with a capacity of 0 octets and windows stalls if I try to access it.

Our team is using the STM32G0 with the USBPD stack and the TCPP02-M18 as the protection circuit. Please find the attached schematic for reference.We are configuring the PD contract with a maximum of 15V, 3A. When connecting an HP G11 laptop to the USB-C port, the contract is successfully negotiated, but we observe repeated hard resets. Upon investigation, the resets are linked to the TCPP nFAULT signal going low, indicating an overcurrent fault.When we short the sense resistor (R10) in the schematic, the fault does not occur. We also tried adding a 0.1 µF capacitor across the sense resistor, but the fault still occurs.When we limit the PD contract in software to 15V, 2.9A, the faults no longer appear. We are using Nexperia GANB4R8-040CBAZ MOSFETs, which have a drain-to-gate capacitance greater than 20 pF, so an additional capacitor should not be necessary.We also tried reducing the sense resistor R10 to 7m Ohms, but the same overcurrent fault still occurs

Hi ,I'm working on the STM32H7S7L8-DK and i would like to know if it is possible to use both USB_FS and USB_HS as two separate Virtual-port-com Device mode When I try to do it for one it is impossible in cube MX to do it for the other.Thanks !  

Hi everyone,I have a question regarding the compatibility between I3C and I2C devices on the STM32H533RETx.I’m using the I3C2 interface on my MCU:PC6: I3C2_SCLPC7: I3C2_SDAOn this bus, I have only one device connected – an I2C EEPROM (M24C32-RMN6TP).The MCU acts as the master, and the EEPROM is the only slave on the line.My question is:Can I read and write to this I2C EEPROM using the I3C2 port in I2C-compatible mode, just like with a normal I2C interface?Or are there any known issues or limitations when using the I3C peripheral to communicate with standard I2C devices (in my case, only one slave device on the bus)?Thanks in advance for your help and insights!

Hi ST team,I'm using STM32H743IIT6 with REV_ID=0x2003 and encountered a problem. Quadspi dual-flash indirect read mode is used for continuous reading data from external. According to RM0433, If QUADSPI_DLR = 0xFFFF_FFFF and FSIZE = 0x1F (max value indicating a 4-Gbyte flash memory), then in this special case, transfers continue indefinitely. But I found that after the 1st 4GB is transferred, the frequency of QUADSPI CLK pin dropped to it half value, for example from 2MHz to 1MHz, without any error indicator. After that, the 2nd, 3rd and so on, 4GB transfer will remain 1MHz clock operation continuously. Meanwhile, the duty cycle of CLK is changed to 25%, as follows:  

Hello:I think I have found how to enable the i-cache on the STM32N657X0 using the STM Cube IDE through using the Pinout & Configuration of the project. Two questions:1. Is the icache actually enabled, or did I just made it available to be programmed?2. How do I enable the dcache? I am using the NUCLEO-N657 development board.If I need to enable them via a software routine, is there an example that I can use?Thank you.kag 

Hi,I'm encountering an issue with OCTOSPI auto-polling on the STM32U5G9NJ-DK1 Discovery Kit while following the "Octo-SPI FLASH in Regular-command protocol example" from AN5050 (Rev 12, February 2025). Specifically, in the OctalPollingWEL() function, HAL_OSPI_AutoPolling() always times out while waiting for HAL_OSPI_FLAG_SM (Status Match) to set. I have been trying to reduce current consumption in a custom board and have seen that current is not getting below 9mA for microcontroller , i am running system on MSI at 2MHz and ABP and AHB peripherals both are at 2MHz ,and to enter in low power run mode i use HAL_PWREx_EnableLowPowerRunMode(), but no effect same current at 2MHz and at 48MHz about 6mA ,can it reduced to 1mA or even in microAmperes

In my project, I log certain values and store them in external flash memory. Later, I use USB host functionality to retrieve this data from flash. Under normal conditions, the project works as expected.However, I’ve encountered an issue: when using a specific brand of USB drive, the device is recognized and functions properly. But when I try other USB brands, the STM32 fails to detect them. I’ve tested the hardware setup and found no issues there, which led me to believe the problem might lie in the USB host code—possibly in the files generated by STM32CubeIDE.Do you have any suggestions or best practices on how to standardize USB host support to ensure compatibility across various USB drive brands? Hello, We are currently experiencing an issue with the STM32U585QII3 microcontroller. We use the LSE pin of the microcontroller to inject a 32.768 kHz signal generated by an external TCXO MEMS-type oscillator, with the input configured in RCC_LSE_BYPASS mode. This clock supplies both a timer and the RTC function. We have observed a loss of clock functionality at low temperatures, around -10°C to -20°C. To further investigate this phenomenon, we routed the LSE clock to the MCO pin (since the LSCO pin is not available on our hardware). On the functional boards, the duty cycle observed on the MCO pin is approximately 60% ON / 40% OFF, with a slight influence from temperature. (The TCXO duty-cycle is 50/50) However, on systems exhibiting the fault, we observe at room temperature a duty cycle of around 80% ON / 20% OFF, which shifts to 98% ON / 2% OFF when cooled, until the clock on the MCO pin is lost entirely.This also causes the RTC func

Hello,I am using a STM32H757 to convert 12 analog channels using ADC2 and ADC3 (code running @ Cortex M7).- Both ADC are configured at 42MHz sync clock, triggered by a timer- ADC2 use DMA1s0 to transfert data to AXI SRAM.- ADC3 use DMA1s1 to transfert data to AXI SRAM.Using a scope, I can see a little drop on the analog lines revealing the sampling point. The 12 sampling point timing fit perfectly the expected behavior (relative to the timer pulse), so, ADC clock, sample time and conversion time are verified and good.CPU clock = 336MHzAXI/AHB clock = 84MHzbackground, IRQ routine and vector table code are all moved in ITCMRAM. All data resides in DTCMRAM. There is nothing running from flash and no data in SRAM.Code compiled in release mode, optimized for speed.I'm using the HAL only for init. I was trying to get the most out of my H563 set up and run as fast as possible. I am using the Nucleo-H563 board. I reconfigured in CubeMX to use System clock mux to use HSE source mux, multipliers and dividers set correctly for 250MHZ operation. There are no errors shown in the setup and I am showing 250 Mhz as the SYSCLK. My AHB is /1, HCLK shows 250MHZ which is feeding the peripheral busses. While the clock configuration APB1 shows 250Mhz it does not seem to be correct as when I set the timers and prescalers for such the timing is not correct... the bus seems to be running at 125mhz. For my TMR1 to get 1us clock I have to set the divider to 124 which implies the internal clock is running at 125Mhz not 250 like the clock diagram shows.    I have attached the Clock Configuration from CubeMX that shows no clock issues.

Hello ST Support Team, I’m currently designing a custom board using STM32H750XBH6.In this design, I would like to interface a 32-bit SDRAM for improved memory bandwidth and performance. However, I noticed that in the official STM32H750 development board (Nucleo/Discovery), the same MCU (STM32H750XBH6) is connected to a 16-bit SDRAM interface only. I would like to confirm the following points: Is it possible to interface a 32-bit wide SDRAM with the STM32H750XBH6? If yes, are there any pin multiplexing conflicts or hardware limitations on the FMC (Flexible Memory Controller) that I should be aware of? Any reference schematics, Cube MX configuration tips, or verified examples for 32-bit SDRAM with STM32H7 would be very helpful. Your technical guidan

Hello,I want to change for boot to use XSPI1 interface, but I am not sure about OTP bits, there in description some bits is not very clear, what OTP bits to set to switch if it's possible ?Additionally if I will use SD card for boot I can set OTP11 value to 0x00000020 (bit5 = 1 = sdcard), write FW to sd and use sd for boot source ?Thanks.

Honestly, this choice feels like a trap.STM keeps promoting it as a “solution,” but compared to Murata, ESP32, or Broadcom it looks outdated:– Legacy M4 core, original MXCHIP code from 2017– Closed software, very little documentation– Hard to debug (no sequence diagrams, no clear dedicated examples)– Rare, unpolished firmware updates– No Nucleo board for hands‑on exploration– Doesn’t seem seriously supported by MXCHIP anymore (similar by STM)This isn’t a shallow impression — I spent three weeks with console access and a logic analyzer writing and debugging code on the B‑U585I‑IOT2A board, and the friction was constant.Curious if others see the same issues, or if there’s a hidden advantage I’m missing?

I have a NUCLEO-C071RB with an STM32C071RB.  In section 31.1 of RM0490 Rev 5, it describes the first 32 bits of the unique ID like this:Bits 31:0 UID[31:0]: X and Y coordinates on the wafer expressed in BCD formatBCD should mean binary-coded decimal, which means each 4-bit nibble is between 0 and 9, but if I run "STM32_Programmer_CLI --connect port=swd -r8 0x1FFF7550 12", I get:0x1FFF7550 : AF 00 40 00 14 50 36 42 48 37 30 20The first byte, 0xAF, is not BCD.In my experience working with these chips, it looks like bytes 0 and 2 are just arbitrary binary bytes which tend to be less than 0x80 but not always.  And bytes 1 and 3 are always 0.So what do those first four bytes really represent?  And is the documentation for the other 8 bytes in RM0490 accurate? It says there is a 1-byte wafer number, followed by 7 bytes of ASCII for the lot number.(Part of the reason I'd like to know

I have read the Datasheet of STM32U595xxx and it was written in it that- DCMI of this MCU is for use with Black & White Camera Modules and it is assumed that all preprocessing is pre- performed in the Camera Module. Sir/Mam, it would be very helpful if you could please confirm and verify these both things (Interface with Black & White Camera Module and Preprocessing is needed to be pre-  performed in the Camera Module), and if you could please provide any-  websites at which- X24 & X5 Camera Modules would be available at cheapest rates (if any).  Thanking You, ANKUR.
