STM32 MCUs Software development tools

hi im making a project to detact rain and sunlight to give decision to close the curtain refusing the user to change the value of the curtain closed. i am currently using NUCLEO-F411RE board with NodeMCU v3 using the NodeMCU just as middle man to connect them into my home wifi. Currently, the problem is everything seems working fine until securing the connection between STM and wifi router, but when i use my phone or laptop to get connection to the webpage that STM builds, ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED occurs. I have tested that both board is working fine, i have disconnected all the sensors as i am just testing on the wireless connection. I have attached the main.c file the ESP8266 file and the ringbuffer file so that it might be easier for me to get some help

Have been fighting ST-LINK_gdbserver over the last few days and am hoping that someone can shed some light.  I'm using JetBrains CLion with the ST-LINK gdb server. I have this configured in the "Debug Servers" setting. I want to get my ITM / printf calls to appear in my "MCU Console" window in CLion. So I have my SWO Enabled, I specify my clock (400Mhz / STM32H743), my divider (1000, should give 400kbaud data coming out), and my TCP port for the SWO data to appear on (59999). I've overridden my `_write` function to push to the ITM_SendChar function.  I press debug, JetBrains compiles, runs the ST-LINK_gdbserver, passes in the correct flags, "-z 59999 -a 400000000 -b 1000 ", and the GDB then connects to the GDB port (61234 - default).  However I don't see any SWO output via ST-LINK_gdbserver. If I run the STM32_Programmer_CLI in a separate terminal window with "./STM32_Programmer_CLI -c port=swd -swv freq=400 portnumber=0", it successfully connect

I have the Nucleo-144 board N657X0Q.It appears to work (i believe there is demo code pre-installed - it is flashing a red led and the frequency changes when I press the user button).  However, I cannot get the Cube IDE or Cube Programmer to work with it.  I am just trying to read memory using the cube programmer as a test.  It connects, gets the information about the board, uploads the loader firmware, and then when it tries to read it gets an error and disconnects.The log file is attached.  I have tried using two different machines as hosts, and tried 2 different usb cables (both are suggestions from several posts I found).  I have tried reducing the speed, and using the "under reset" and "hotplug" modes to no avail.  I have selected the correct external loader before doing the check.  I am using a separate power supply on the user USB to rule out any problems with enough power from the host machines on the USB port.I don't know what to try

Hi everyone,I am experiencing an issue with STM32CubeMX version 6.16.0 while working on an STM32U375xx based project.When I set the Toolchain/IDE to CMake, the code generation process completes successfully, but the linker script (STM32U375xx_FLASH.ld) is missing from the project structure. I have checked both the root directory and the cmake/ folder, but the file is nowhere to be found.Interestingly, if I switch the Toolchain to STM32CubeIDE, the .ld file is generated as expected. This suggests a potential issue or a change in behavior specifically for the CMake generator with the new U3 series in this version of CubeMX.Environment details:MCU: STM32U375xxSTM32CubeMX Version: 6.16.0Toolchain: CMakeHas anyone else encountered this problem? This fault is still happening since Oct 2024. However I found a workaround documented here -->https://stackoverflow.com/questions/78850472/stm32cubeprogrammer-flash-loader-cannot-be-loadedIn case the link has died, you need to do the following...Connect STM32CubeProgrammer to your STM32 device and note the "Device ID" listed in the "Target Information" window bottom right of the CubeProgrammer app, e.g. for an STM32F103 this will be 0x410.cd into your "STM32CubeProgrammer/bin/FlashLoader" folder.duplicate the file that matches your device ID (e.g. for an STM32F103 the file would be 0x410.stldr)and then rename the duplicated file "0x".Then restart STM32CubeProgrammer and it will now work properly.  

Hello,I have the issue that the FlashLoader is detected but not set correctly. The error message is:flash loader cannot be loaded. FlashLoaderPath = CubeProgrammer/bin/FlashLoader/0xAs a workaround I can create a copy of the correct FlashLoader and name it 0x, but I think this should work automatically. I am running on Linux and the issue exists for several versions of CubeProgrammer and on multiple Linux distros for me. My current version 2.21.0.The issue is really annoying if you switch boards and forget to copy-rename the correct FlashLoader.

Hi I am just getting started with STM32CubeIDE for a project I am doing at my university!I have made an account and installed the software, and I got the board (NUCLEO-L552ZE-Q), I wanted to start a new project with the board to try and blink and LED.But somehow I cant find it anywhere where to create a new project that is not an empty project because I want my board automatically connected to my project, because I have read some online where they said a question "Initialize all peripherals with their default Mode?" will appear once you created a new project and want to connect the board.The alternatives I get when pressing Create/Import STM32 Project is:1. STM32CubeIDE Empty Project2. C++ Project3. C project4. STM32 CMake ProjectPlease let me know if I have done something wrong with the installation or if there is something I missed.Thanks in advance!

I have a NUCLEO-F030R8 development kit and an X-NUCLEO-WB05N-B01 (STM32WB05N) expansion board.I am using an ST-Link V3 for programming and debugging.I believe that I have connected the boards according to the official X-CUBE-WB05N Getting Started documentation (v1.1.0). The wiring, pin mappings, and configuration settings have been done based on the document.I am trying to communicate between the NUCLEO-F030R8 (host MCU) and the STM32WB05N over SPI.The SPI pins, IRQ, and reset connections are configured according to the documentation. stm32cube-ide-clangd.arguments are written to settings.json on every startup/setup with .exe or no extension depending on platform. settings.json contains important settings we want to share across collaborators but now it's getting constantly modified between platforms. 

Folks,I have FreeRTOS running on an H563, trust zone not used. Created the basic setup from an ioc. I have an ocassional task starvation issue and want to double check there's no stack overflow (unlikely but must check).If I set configCHECK_FOR_STACK_OVERFLOW to 1  in FreeRTOS.hIn cmsis_os2.c, vApplicationStackOverflowHook is still greyed out and hovering over configCHECK_FOR_STACK_OVERFLOW claims it's set to 0. control clicking on it takes me to the defintion where it is set to 1. Anyone know what is going on here please? And why is it set in FreeRTOS.h, not FreeRTOSConfig.h?  Thanks

Hi!I am making a custom external loader for my custom STM32F469 board equipped with a W25Q128 flash mermory on QuadSPI.To do so I am using vscode and a CMake project generated via CubeMX.I am able to generate and run programs on my STM32F469 (embedded flash), I can write, read and reset the external flash even using the memory mapped mode (verified through the debugger).Now I want to build an external loader based on this project. I copied the files from the STM external loader Github (contrib branch), updated them to match the W25Q128 configuration, and added an executable to my CMakeLists file to compile (and most importantly link) the external loader.My first problem is that the linker complains that there is no "main" function. I searched around for what could be the entry point of en external loader but I can't find anything. I am trying to build a project using STM32CUBEMX 6.16.0 and 6.16.1 but the ioc file doesn't export the full supporting header file for the touchgfx.

I recently updated to Linux Mint 22 (Cinnamon 6.8, kernel 6.8.0, Ubuntu 24.04) by means of the "generic Linux" version. (I had tried without success the Debian package and was advised to use the "generic" instead).The software works and compiles OK as long as you do not try to launch or debug the result. At this point it stops complaining that it cannot find gdb because libncurses.so.5 is not installed.  The problem lies in the fact that  libncurses5 is deprecated and non longer available (you can get libncurses5-dev but that is of no avail).At this point I reverted to the old 1.10 version that I still had, and found the same problem.  The only solution seems to be an upgrade of STM32CubeIDE to libncurses6.Do you have any solution or a forecast for such an upgrade? I hate thinking of switching to  a different processor line.Tranks

HiI recently started using STM32CubeMX on MacOS and noticed that navigating through the (sub)-folder is kind of buggy or I am doing something utterly wrong.I want to create a project inside my documents folder. But everything that is inside my documents folder is not shown in the STM32CubeMX GUI when selecting a project folder. See attached picture. Can you please attempt to recreate this? I use a MacBook Air M3 16GB/265GB, Mac Tahoe V26.2 should that matter.

Hello!I'm trying to set up a program via STM32CubeMX. The MCU I'm trying to use is the STM32WBA65CIU6 with the SMPS Pinout.source: datasheet page 72 (https://www.st.com/resource/en/datasheet/stm32wba62ci.pdf).However this configuration seemingly isn't available in STM32CubeMX, only the SMPS_USB Version.source: STM32CubeMX with STM32WBA65CIUx chosen as MCU.There's only one MCU listed in the MCU/MPU selector. Just in case if there are supposed to be multiple.source: STM32CubeMX with search-string STM32WBA65CIU6 in commercial part number.Is there an option that I'm missing? Hello, I installed STM32CubeIDE and attempted to set up my first project as you can see in the three attachments.Based on YouTube videos, I expected to see the MCU outline so I can assign functions to the pins.  As you can see in one of the screenshots, I'm getting a message stating that "There is no active editor that provides an outline"I did the following to try and address this, with no luck...   *  Uninstalled and Reinstalled STM32CubeIDE, including manually deleting folders that were not removed by the automated removal process.  To be safe, I used a different project folder name but this didn't help.  *  Installed STM32 on a second Windows 11 laptop but saw the exact same problemI didn't bother trying older versions of STM32CubeIDE because I read in a different post that this did not solve the problem for the other user.Any help is appreciated.

Hello,Does anyone know if there is a stack analyzer tool / plugin available in CubeIDE, in particular to analyze the stacks dynamically allocated in ThreadX Memory pools?Also, under ThreadX Thread List, there is a "stack usage" column.  This column is always blank (or N/A), is there something that needs to be done to enable the "stack usage"?  

When opening a project directory in VS Code, the STM32CubeIDE for Visual Studio Code extension gets stuck in an infinite loading state (as shown in the screenshot below).Symptoms:"Go to Definition" does not work.The Build Analyzer view does not appear. clicking the "Build" button still triggers a successful compilation.Most dependent extensions, such as STM32Cube CMake Support, remain inactiveHere is the log output from STM32Cube Core during the failed loading:I discovered that if I completely disconnect my PC from the internet before launching VS Code, the extension reports a network error but then successfully initializes after a short period.
