STM32 MCUs Software development tools

Windows for ARM processors has been out for 3-4 years now.  Most of the recent Surface devices use a Snapdragon ARM processor.  I can't seem to find a way to use STM32CubeProgrammer or any other software that requires a DFU connection on these machines.  Am I missing something or are there no DFU drivers for Windows ARM?

Good day,I'm using CubeMX 6.15.0 and CubeIDE 1.19.0 on MacOS 15.6.1 on Intel and Windows 10.I've got a little situation, when generating footprints for Altium, I go into <Tools><CAD> and after a short period CubeMX will say "Connection lost... Please check network status".I try again and again, Windows, Mac, CubeIDE, CubeMX. Always the same result.Then I connected my laptop to a hotspot on my phone that bypasses our firewall and - BAM - I get the footprints. Apparently one of the necessary IP addresses is being blocked, likely due to attacks form another IP in the same subnet band.Question: So I can go to my networking guy and get the connection through, what IP bands are ST using when generating these CAD symbols?Thanks,Andrei

Greetings All,I am using STM32CubeIDE Version 1.18.0, and MxCube Version 6.14.0I have several configured UARTs with the Yellow Triangle Warning, all of themstart with "Hardware Flow Control (RS232) conflict ......." and each has a uniqueconflict. The UARTs are configured with just the TX and RX pin in Asynchronous mode,and Hardware Flow Control (RS232) set to Disabled. Question 1: Are these conflicts something I should be paying attention to, is somethingdrastically incorrect, and will cause failures?As I am not using RTS/CTS pins, I cannot have flow control enabled? Correct?Why the warning?The UARTs seem to be functional. Question2: Hovering the mouse over the Yellow Triangle, or any Yellow warning, seems veryinconsistent, sometimes it shows the warning reason, sometimes it doesn't, and you haveto move the mouse around, until it finally shows you the error, is this be design, or justa problematic user interface? :) ThanksKen  

Hi Everyone,I've been working on the N6 kit for a while. Initially, I was able to debug it, albeit with difficulty. However, in my latest attempts, I haven't been able to. I've updated Stlink, the IDE, and CubeProgrammer. I continue to receive the error below. I'm following all the instructions in the Readme. Also, as I mentioned, I've been able to debug it without any problems for about a month. I know that debugging MCUs with external flash drives requires some special considerations. However, when they suddenly stop working after booting, it really makes the development process quite tedious. What should I check? I've eliminated things like the USB cable.BR. Onur  

Hello,I bought a NUCLEO-F401RE and the STEVAL-IOM001V1 evaluation board to experiment with the IO-Link protocol. I’m having trouble importing STSW-IOM001 into my project. According to the documentation, it’s supposed to be opened in SW4STM32, which is an older tool. I’ve followed all the instructions I could find for importing it into STM32CubeIDE, but nothing has worked. Do you have any suggestions?

I'm trying to develop a script to flash a secure firmware and set the option bytes on STM32H755. Hello, I have configured a project with CubeMX using a NUCLEO-H7S3L8 with an STM32H7S3L8 MCU.Although everything works, I first need to flash the bootloader and then flash the application.A reset is required to start the app.Using the debugger, I confirmed that the app is running from an external flash drive (PC with a 0x9000000 value).I'm missing the "Build All" option, which allows you to build all three projects simultaneously and start the application after flashing without having to press the reset button. I think so.This is the first time I've used a bootflash MCU, and I'm sure I've missed something.I've attached the IOC file, which only shows a blinking yellow LED.Why do I need to reset the board to start the application? Update 1:There's a "Build All" button in the toolbar that performs this task. Hi,I have upgraded recently to STM32CubeMX 6.15 on Linux and regenerate code for my STM32G491RE project (that uses iostream). Since this, it gives me compilation errors on missing libc symbols (for example putwc). After investigations, it seems the linker script generated has changed and I wonder if it is expected.Last part of the script has changed from:/DISCARD/ : { libc.a ( * ) libm.a ( * ) libgcc.a ( * ) }to/DISCARD/ : { libc.a:* ( * ) libm.a:* ( * ) libgcc.a:* ( * ) } Could you confirm this is valid and the expected behavior of the new declaration ? Regards

Hi, I use lasted available library’s and software Cube IDE and stm32f103 mcu. I create clear project with minimum required parameters for use usb MSD or COM, with using USB HAL, So I compile it and connect usb, device recognised and OS propose format it, all works correctly.So the problem: if in settings project optimisation select any type not include “none” after programing device not recognised by OS if I connect it by usb. No meter what optimization level i select. In debug mode initialisation comes without return error, (OS still not recognized usb device)

When using stm32cubeprogrammer to burn the program for nucleo-N657X0, the external flash kernel is locked. The inside of the external flash I read is all ffffff. When I erase the code of the external flash, it will report an error that it cannot be erased.

Initially I downloaded the Debian version of the IDE. Now I am using the generic Linux version. In both versions I could build the project, but in neither one of them could I run the program. I kept getting the error: Could not determine GDB version.I tried to see where is the cross-compiler in use: Project -> Properties -> C/C++ Build -> Environment. Hello, When using I2S2 with DMA transmit, the auto-generated stm32f7xx_hal_msp.c does not includePeriphClkInitStruct.PeriphClockSelection = RCC_PERIPHCLK_I2S inside HAL_I2S_MspInit().As a result, after calling HAL_I2S_Transmit_DMA() no DMA interrupts/callbacks occur.As a workaround, I manually added the snippet in the user code section. Question:Is this intended (by design) or something wrong with STM32CubeIDE?For an I2S setup, should RCC_PERIPHCLK_I2S be auto-generated at an appropriate place?Or should it be added manually?Also, I may be missing a recommended setting/order, so if there’s an official way to ensure RCC_PERIPHCLK_I2S is applied, I’d appreciate guidance.Environment:    MCU/Board: STM32F767ZI / NUCLEO-F767ZI    STM32CubeIDE: 1.19.0

I upgraded STLINK-Utility under Windows 10 from 4.5 to 4.6. It doesn't connect to the DISCOVERY board STM32F407G-DISC1. In the settings it says: "Old ST-LINK firmware/ST-LINK already used". Everything else is greyed out.Can I download version 4.5 still somewhere?

Hello,i am working with the STM32F401RE board along with the IHM02A1 expansion board. I am using the X-CUBE-SPN2 package.I am working with a predefined project from X-CUBE-SPN2 and modifying it according to my requirements. I am defining all the GPIO pins, using some as input and some as output.However, I am facing a problem with GPIO pins PA13 and PA14. These pins are used for the debugger by default. I do not want to use the debugger and instead want to use these pins as input/output.I want to know how to disable the debug function for these pins and directly flash the program to the board. I have also tried using the “green icon” menu to flash, but it is not working.This is quite urgent. I would really appreciate your guidance on how to resolve this issue.Thank you so much in advance.

Hi, I use VS Studio Code for programming my STM32, but i have a problem for uploading firmware. I use STM32Cube add-on but can't communicate with my ST-Link. When I use the same code with STM32 Cube IDE (STM32 Cube programmer), the firmware can upload without problem.After compile, the windows open for choosing a program to open my .elf file. No error on compile, just my firmware file open in terminal. Thanks for help.

Perhaps my oversight but I could not find such a feature.
