STM32 MCUs Software development tools

I have a project that is using AzRTOS, ThreadX, NetX, FileX, UsbX, and i'm still using cubeMX to reconfigure the hardware and drivers.  I understand that users need to put code between the "USER CODE BEGIN" and "USER CODE END" comments, if you're still updating with CubeMX.But there are several issues with AzRtos and FileX (even the STM examples provided don't work properly), so to fix some of these issues, I want to add code to AZURE_RTOS/App/app_azure_rtos.c.  At the beginning of the file I can add user code: VOID tx_application_define(VOID *first_unused_memory) { /* USER CODE BEGIN tx_application_define_1*/ /* USER CODE END tx_application_define_1 */ but there is no provision to add user code at the end of this routine (after the memory pools have been allocated).  Also note that this routine is called from Middlewares, and I don't want to start modifying that code.So my question is:Is there a way to add code to a file that is outside "User code" comments

I need to flash signed bootloader and signed firmware for ardupilot the file i am using is arducopter_with_bl.hexafter this I need to erase the entire chip and need to flash unsigned bootloader and unsignedfirmware again so that i can use that again. I want to achieve this without bricking the board because once it has happend.My board does not have BOOt0 pin and it does not have DFU mode. Dear ST Community.I am designing devices with STM32WL microcontrollers with highly limited board space. I routed out traces for all SWD signals (VDD, GND, NRST, SWDIO, SWCLK)I have my Prototype Board, original ST-Link V2 with V2J45S7 Firmware and STM32CubeProgrammer version v2.20.0. During testing I realized that the connection to Prototype is stable only when I connect all 5 signals. For some reason I thought that "VDD_Target" pin on ST-Link side can be left floating.I have found a previous post:https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-boards-and-hardware/how-to-connect-the-stlink-v2-to-my-board/m-p/94389but unfortunately in my case I have to have "VDD_Target" signal connected on both ends. When disconnected STMCubeProgrammer responds with error shown below:Do I need to have all SWD signals being connected in order to program my Prototype or is there any hidden option in ST-Link/STMCubeProgrammer that I can turn on, so in final design I can omit routing VDD pin for SWD connector?Kind re

I am writing some firmware for a device with an alpha-numeric display. The display language must be changable. For most languages, this means using characters outside the A-Z range. UTF-8 covers most of the necessary characters.In the project properties, I found this setting, and naively thought that the UTF-8 selection included the actual compiler:Well, obviously not, as it is GCC that needs to know that the character set is to be UTF-8. The codesprintf(pString, "Français");is translated tosprintf(pString, "Français"); (It might not be super-visible, but the ç in Français is a c with a cedilla, which has the UTF-8 code 0xE7.)I tried using the flags -finput-charset=utf-8 and -fexec-charset=utf-8 in an attempt to tweak GCC to use UTF-8 for strings and characters, but that didn't make a difference. I'm using the STM32G474RE with STM32CubeIDE - Version: 1.19.0, and I encountered a strange issue. I'm not sure whether to call it an error, as it doesn't technically throw any errors—but it's unusual.When I create a new project and open the .ioc configuration, the NVIC section (which usually shows 7-8 entries for code generation) is completely empty. This behavior seems abnormal, and I'm unsure what's causing it.Could someone please help me understand what's going on or how to resolve this?

I'm trying out semihosting with openocd in STM32CubeIDE.  For this purpose I added the call initialise_monitor_handles(); in main.c as the second call after HAL_Init(); I have STLINK(gdb server) configured. Hi everyone,I am a little desperate due to my problem in debugging my programs on my newly purchased STM32N6570-DK discovery board. I am running all the software on my Macbook Pro 2024 with M4 Max processor with macOS Sequoia 15.6.1.I have been using STM32 Cube IDE version 1.19 and have successfully managed to debug a binary. It was the classic blink example. It seems to be working fine in the Cube IDE but not when I am trying to setup a debug target in my CLion environment. I have been comparing all of the parameters to the debugger between Cube IDE and CLion and tried using exact same. I have also tried using the separate CLT package for the programmer and debugger from ST.It always results in a timeout and releasing debugger with a disconnection and the following message:Error in initializing ST-LINK device.Reason: Target not halted.GDB Server stopped, exit code 9Anyone having ideas?

by using the stm32h750xbhx i created two projects. one is bootloader and other is application. we are trying to use external flash to store the application, as the file size is much larger than the capacity of the internal flash.and we are trying to flash the bootloader to internal flash and from the bootloader we will jump to the application program which is in external flash.(can we do that directly or we need qspi to do the jump also).and we are planning to run the application on the external flash like xip(execute in place).what is the best way to flash the application to the external flash.can we do the whole process like this and what is the best procedure to follow if possible clarify the confusion around the qspi intialization, where to do and when to do.

Hello,To avoid licensing compliance issues, we can not use Oracle Java, need to use Open JDK instead. When we install the STM32CubeMX or STM32CubeProgrammer, I guess the oracle java will be installed by default. That is to say, It will be integrated into the installation process. Can we change?

I attempted to download CubeProg from the official ST website, but I encountered the following message and was unable to proceed:"We apologize for the inconvenience, but in accordance with the European Union's Export Regulation 2021/821, the US Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and other relevant rules and regulations, ST is not authorized to allow the download of this software from your country."It appears that the download is restricted in my country(S.Korea) due to export control regulations.This situation is quite surprising.Does it mean I should consider using a different chip instead?regards, 

Hello there : )This may be resolved but I cannot find the answer in either Segger's or ST's forum.I have set up a fresh target (NUCLEO-G491RE) via ST-LINK with expected result.When I move SRAM1 -> address 0 it is changed in the memory view.Now, with a J-LINK it never changes, (not after refreshing the memory view either). I have changed the OB to initially put the main FLASH at address 0 (BOOT0 pin will not be valid later).As ST-LINK connects this is confirmed as SYSCFG.MEMRMP is 0x1, and changes to 0x3 correctly.The J-LINK does however starts with 0x0 and changes to 0x3 as expected.In both cases the SYSCFG.CFGR1 changes from 0x0 to 0x7C... before so the RCC does it's work. Any ideas?BTW, the J-LINK Console log does not mention about any of this, no script are involved.

I'm working on a project to connect multiple stm32-boards using the CAN-bus.So I opened two instances of the ide and connected 2 boards with 2 st-links.When I tried to setup the 2nd st-link for debug, I received an unknown error from the GDB-server.Please help, as I don't want to use multiple computers for that project.RegardsAndreas

 I am using an ST-Link V2 for debugging in VS Code. It worked before, but now it gives me an error in the GDB server terminal:"Error in initializing ST-LINK device.Reason: ST-LINK firmware upgrade required. Please upgrade the ST-LINK firmware using the upgrade tool."When I try to upgrade my ST-Link firmware version using the button in the VS Code STM32 extension, this error is displayed: "Error whilst trying to update STLink Firmware."Even when the ST-Link is disconnected, this error is still displayed.I tried to upgrade it with the ST-Link utility, and it tells me the upgrade is successful, but nothing changed, and I still have these errors.

There are a large number of extensions that are currently available for VSCode, but I am confused on which extensions to install.For example. There are these two extensionsSTM32Cube for Visual Studio CodeSTM32Cube for Visual Studio Code CoreThese two look like they complement each other, however going into the settings, I need to to specify the path location for CubeMX and the Finder tool twice. I don't even know whether I should be installing these together now. Also, you provide STM32Cube clangd extension, however the STM32Cube for Visual Studio Code installed a C/C++ extension pack that includes the Microsoft C++ extension and this is known to conflict with clangd.There are also a plethora of extensions likeBuild AnalyzerBundles ManagerCMake SupportDebug CoreDebug STLink GDB serverProject ManagerRegister ViewRTOS viewand now it is difficult to know which extensions play nicely with other extensions. Hello STM32 developers,I use STM32CubeIDE 1.18.1When creating new workspaces, I import my preferences.The colors get right, but the font remain wrong (Consolas)For this to correct, the fastest method seems to copy over.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.core.runtime\.settings\org.eclipse.ui.workbench.prefsfrom another workspace instead of going through the preferencesIs it possible to add the fonts to be exported and imported in a future release?Or is there another way to do this?
